The Kenmore Elite® Smart Room Air Conditioner is an air conditioner that “talks” to your smart device (a smartphone or tablet) using wireless (Wi-Fi) technology. Smart technology gives you the ability to run your Kenmore Elite® Smart Room Air Conditioner from your smartphone or tablet only when you need to, saving energy and money on your utility bill.
You can begin by downloading the Kenmore AC™ app from your smart phone or tablet and create your account with a valid email and password. Once your account is created, hold the SMART button (the "a" icon) on the unit for five seconds and connect your smartphone or tablet to the Wi-Fi network "Air_Conditioner." Then follow the app prompt to select your home Wi-Fi network and register your product. Once these steps are completed, the app will work with your Kenmore Elite® Smart Room Air Conditioner and will connect the two within your smart device.
Open the Kenmore AC™ app and tap "Create a schedule" to open the Scheduling Assistant. This feature will walk you through a step-by-step process to create multiple schedules, add days of the week, times of the day, and start and end times (a.m. or p.m).
Yes, your remote control can still be used on your air conditioning unit. All changes made by the remote control will be reflected within the app on your smart device.
To use the Sleep feature, press the SLEEP button on the unit or remote control and the LED will illuminate. The set temperature will increase 2°F 30 minutes after this mode is selected. It will increase again after 30 minutes by another 2°F. It will stay at this set point for seven hours and will then return to the original setting.
To change the Temperature setting, use the UP and DOWN arrows as required on the control panel. If you are using the remote control, use TEMP arrows to change the Temperature setting. You can also adjust the temperature from the Kenmore AC™ app by tapping on the "+" symbol in the "set temp" field on the main screen.
After 250 hours of operation, the FILTER RESET LED will light. This is a reminder to clean the filter housed behind the front panel to keep the unit operating efficiently. Pressing the FILTER RESET button for three seconds will reset this reminder and turn off the LED.

If water is building up inside the room with your air conditioning unit, reposition it or shim the cabinet as necessary. Do not drill the drain pain. Your unit should be mounted on a 1/4" downward slope to the outside (1/2 bubble on a carpenter’s leveler). If water is building up outside the room with your air conditioning unit, there is nothing to worry about — water buildup is normal during operation on hot or humid days.
Trapped particles in the filter can build up and block air from flowing to the cooling coils and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils. Open the front panel and grasp the filter by the center and pull out. Wash the filter with warm water and liquid dishwashing detergent; thoroughly dry and replace. Once the filter is in place, select FAN ONLY mode and set the fan speed to the fastest setting to further defrost the coil. Do not leave your air conditioning unit in your window during winter months.
There are many normal noises associated with an in-window air conditioning unit. Those noises include gurgling, hissing, rushing air, whining, vibrations, pinging and swishing. If you hear noises outside the normal operational spounds, turn your unit off immediately and contact the Customer Care Team.
If you smell or see mold, immediately turn off your air conditioning unit and unplug the product. Clean the mold areas in the cabinet and front with an oil-free cloth or wash with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild, liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry. Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish on the cabinet front. Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner.
