Product Description

Kenmore is America's # 1 appliance brand, trusted in the homes of more than 100 million Americans.

This 36 in. induction cooktop offers the latest and greatest Kenmore Elite cooktop controls, slider controls. Along with these innovative controls, this induction cooktop has a 4,800W smart element and a bridge element. Each Induction element can go from a gentle simmer to a roaring boil for complete cooking flexibility. The ceramic glass cooktop stays cooler than radiant cooktops making clean-up easier than ever, while the pan detection keeps the element from accidently turning on unless it senses a metal pan is present.

  • Enjoy the fastest, most flexible surface cooking available - induction delivers faster, more responsive cooking with near instantaneous temperature changes. It works by producing a magnetic field which heats the pan instead of the cooktop making spills much easier to clean-up off the cool cooktop surface
  • Enjoy super fast heating times using less energy - induction cooktop features Power Boost to let you go from a low simmer to a rolling boil twice as fast as gas or electric cooktops
  • Use the left side as two independent elements or as a bridge with a griddle
  • Gain more control over your cooktop - The Electronic Surface Element Controls (ESEC) allow each element to go from the lowest of simmer settings to highest of power settings and since the controls are digital the exact setting can be duplicated anytime
  • Always have the peace of mind your cooktop has turned off - thie pan detection feature only engages the element when a metal pan is present on the burner and the entire cooktop shuts off automaically after 12 hours of being left on
  • A cooktop as beautiful as it is easy to clean - sculptured ceramic glass cooktop adds a sleek, high-style look to your kitchen. The formed ceramic glass cooktop features a flush look and beveled edge with stainless steel trim
  • Smart element provides 4,800W of power but also avoids wasting energy by sensing small pots or pans and only feeds current to one of its two elements

Wonderful way to cook!

Now that we have gotten through the 'learning curve', we can rave about induction cooking. Keeps the heat in the pot, not in the kitchen. Fast! Temp adjustment faster than gas. Easy to clean. If there is any drawback, it would be that you can accidently change the cooking temp by brushing across the controls. Some people have complained that their pots scratch the surface. We got a cut-to-fit oven liner, made a pot-sized circle, and put our rough-bottomed pot on it to cook. Our old cast iron works well on it, but we did have to invest in new saucepans. The warm/hold setting keeps food at a good eating temperature. So far, we are very happy with it!

Still not sure if I like it!
I have owned this product for 2 months. After investing in stainless steel and cast iron pots and pans, I was ready to start cooking. Overall I like the stove top but I am just struggling with everything sticking to the pan. Over easy eggs are a thing of the past! Everything sticks to these pans. I made veal Marsala today and they stuck to the pan... I have used the coconut oil to prepare all my pans but everything still sticks. I have to scrub endlessly to clean my pans. maybe I need more practice but so far if I could switch out to another cook top I would.
