Product Description

Kenmore is America's # 1 appliance brand, trusted in the homes of more than 100 million Americans.

This 30-inch induction cooktop offers the latest and greatest Kenmore Elite controls: a 10-inch 3,900-watt power boost, induction element and bridge element. Each induction element can go from a gentle simmer to a roiling boil for complete cooking flexibility.  The ceramic glass cooktop stays cooler than radiant cooktops, making cleanup easier than ever, while the pan detection keeps the element from accidentally turning on unless it senses a metal pan.

Read what Consumer Reports says about fast cooking on this cooktop and others.

  • Enjoy the fastest, most flexible surface cooking available - induction delivers faster, more responsive cooking with near instantaneous temperature changes. It works by producing a magnetic field which heats the pan instead of the cooktop making spills much easier to clean-up off the cool cooktop surface
  • Enjoy super fast heating times using less energy - induction cooktop features Power Boost to let you go from a low simmer to a rolling boil twice as fast as gas or electric cooktops
  • New slider controls add both precision and that "wow" factor. Slide your finger and watch the temperature change
  • Gain more control over your cooktop - The Electronic Surface Element Controls (ESEC) allow each element to go from the lowest of simmer settings to highest of power settings and since the controls are digital the exact setting can be duplicated anytime
  • Always have the peace of mind your cooktop has turned off - the pan detection feature only engages the element when a metal pan is present on the burner and the entire cooktop shuts off automatically after 12 hours of being left on
  • A cooktop as beautiful as it is easy to clean - sculptured ceramic glass cooktop adds a sleek, high-style look to your kitchen. The formed ceramic glass cooktop features a flush look and beveled edge with stainless steel trim
  • Avoid accidental cooktop burns - four highly visible cooktop hot surface indicator lights glow brightly so you know which element or elements are still too hot to the touch

Elite Induction Cooktop fast and easy cleanup.........

So easy to clean boilovers and spills. Just wipe it off and put the pot back down. It is so fast and as long as you start clean just wipe it off with a sponge. The only drawback is if you spill on controls it will shut off. Very safe. No more burnt pot holders. You can put a paper towel under pan and won't catch fire. Cool to cook on since it only heats the pan. I will never go back to electric burnt on mess and gas is so hot to stand over. LOVE IT

Kenmore Elite 30" induction cooktop

I had the the cooktop for 5.5 years with extended care service, and used it to cook dineer everyday.  The cooktop worked fine as expected without any major issues.  However, it exploded after 5.5 years of usage while I was cooking.  I am glad that I am still alive and in one piece.  Since the cooktop is out of warranty and extended service,  Sears is willing to give me $100 credit toward my next new cooktop purchase.  The credit is not even enough to pay for the tax on the new cooktop.  For the safety reason, I would give the product a "0" star if it was possible.

A side note,  I got the extended service.  However, the service guy did not even come to my house to service the cooktop while they claimed that they were in my house.

Read before buying

Induction technology is amazing. You will not be disappointed by the performance, short term. Do your homework, look at other Kenmore induction ranges. The high reviews are because there is no other stove that compares, the low reviews are that they all tend to fail before their reasonable life should expire, 5-7 years, which is typically outside of the extended warranty period. If you are okay with spending 2K on a stove that will last 5-7 years, buy it . If not, look elsewhere.

Great cooking performance but watch out for repairs!

The cooking performance is great. Very accurate heating control and no more slaving over a hot stove. This unit has 2 generators. 8 months after purchase the right side generator failed (the side with the largest burner). We heard a pop, received an error code on the display, and that was it. The left two burners continued to function (they have their own generator). The directions for this unit say not to use the cooktop at all when any kind of error message is displayed. Repair took over a week. Two visits were required, one to diagnose the problem and order the part, and a second visit 8 days later to install the new generator. The repair guy was nice and knowledgable, but the delay required to order the part was not acceptable. The replacement part came from Electrolux and the cooktop was originally manufactured in Canada. Given the simplicity of these devices, high price, and Kenmore Elite name, I expect far more in terms of lasting quality.

I owned this stove top for 4+ years. One morning it made a pop and died. No one can fix it for less than $1,000. I have to wonder why such a lame product ever came to market. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere for an induction stove.

Expencive JUNK

Bought mine 2.5 years ago, Now the most used burner display is failing so your not sure what number your on. Contacted Sears just now to make sure it's under Warranted as the manual says it is for 5 years and he informed me is NOT. Sad thing is what I replaced it with was a very cheep GE contractor grade cook top that lasted 15 years. Paid $1900.00 for this JUNK and sorry I watched there video to sway me into buying it in the 1st place not to mention the abilities to use all my expensive pots and pans after installing this garbage "BIG MISTAKE" So my rating is a MINUS 50! And I WILL NEVER BUY SEARS ANYTHING AGAIN it's NOT THE SAME COMPANY WE ALL GREW UP WITH ANYMORE! THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE!

Superb for last 5 years

Remodeled the kitchen/den 5 years ago.  Had gas in last house, but can't get in this one, and wasn't thrilled with performance of electric cooktops.  Read about induction for months, finally decided to go with Kenmore Elite.  At the time it was made by Electrolux and was much less expensive.  Exact duplicate of Electrolux model but with Sears Elite for the nametag.

Cooks well- immediate heat control, immediate cooler temp when you lower control. Can't get it as low to simmer as a gas cooktop, so still prefer gas.  But this beats electric hands down.

Love the cool cooktop, don't worry about burning people etc.  We really like it and am glad we went this way over electric.  Have never had any problems with noise (when reading reviews years ago some (very few) people said they heard humming noise from the magnets). Cleaning is easy and with the cooler glass top food doesn't get cooked onto it.  Much easier to clean than electric.

The only problem we've had is about 3 months ago the metal trim on the back top of the cooktop came unglued.  Went to ******, they recommended a glue which easily fixed it and no additional problems.

If you can't get gas cooktop, induction is the only way to go.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
