I purchased this to use in my preschool classroom and for my summer rec cooking classes. I needed a sturdy appliance that could not tip easlily and could actually boil things so I could cook instead of just warm foods unlike the two coil hot plates I currently own. Unfortunatly, it will not work with hard anodised cookware, so I need to purchase some new cookware. Tip: Make sure a magnet will stick to your cookware bottom as it needs to be made of ferous metals for the induction burner to work.
I used it for the first time the this week. It was easy to use, but when I cleaned it up with a hot soapy dishrag, it streaked. The nonstick pan that came with it was of good quality, I just hope it keeps the coating unlike the reviews I have been reading. My 3rd through 6th graders were impressed with how easy it was to use, how it didn't get hot all over, and how fast it cooled down. I love the fact that I can transport it, it heats up fast, uses lower temperatures, is sturdy, and of course, has the Kenmore name and quality I know and love.
Amazing piece of equipment. Can't wait to try making playdough with my preschoolers. I wish I had this for all the demonstrations I have done the past 15 years, they would have gone smoother! Highly recommend!

Why a induction cooktop 4 main reasons from last to best. 1- Save engery - seems to. 2- Heats up fast. Wow it does that. 3- Remove pan and cooktop shuts off. Great Job! 4 - Set your heat temp like an oven. This only has low, med low, med, med high, and high. No different that a regular stove top. The cheapest induction I found for $50 has 6 different settings starting at 120 to 425. My brother-in-laws which is slightly cheaper has 52 setting from 110 to 525. Very disappoint on this point. Product is well built, looks nice and has a great name. You need to improve on the best feature this type of cookware has to offer.

Fastest heating induction plate I have ever had. Can move from kitchen to outdoor enclosed porch in a second. Works much quicker than a regular electric burner. Use daily. Can not be without ever. Would most definitely purchase again.
