Kenmore Elite  900 Watt Brushed Aluminum Blender

I purposely bought this blender for making fresh vegetable fruit combination smoothie's. It has performed beyond my expectations. I am so excited and the green smoothies are healthy and yummy. I would recommend this blender if you are looking for powerful performance. The 5 year warranty is a big bonus.

This device does all it is supposed to do. Blend, crush ice puree etc. However disassembling to clean is a awkward. The chopper blades are very difficult to remove and replace from the glass container. John D. Jackson, NJ

I have been searching for the perfect blender for months. This comes pretty close. It is powerful and blends everything I've tried effortlessly. I use ice a lot and I wish it would blend to a little finer consistancy. Eventually it does, if you blend long enough, but I kind of like a "slushy" consistancy and it's hard to achieve that. No trouble blending frozen fruit and ice at all. Once in a great while I have to stop and stir once, but my parents have a Blendtec and, while mine's not quite as nice as that, they say they have to occasionally stir the contents as well. The caraffe is glass and is pretty heavy but to me glass looks classier than plastic. I am super happy with the blender I got for what seems to me a very reasonable price and it looks really nice on my counter.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS P.O.S. THIS BLENDER IS TERRIBLE. WEAKEST 900 WATS EVER. LOUSY PITCHER DESIGN LETS AIR GET TRAPPED JUST ABOVE THE BLADES SO THAT NOTHING MOVES. THEN WHEN YOU REMOVE THE LID THE BUBBLE WILL COME TO THE TOP AND POP, SPLASHING THE CONTENTS. VERY LOUD AND MAKES RATTLING NOISES. THIS BLENDER WAS NEVER REAL WORLD TESTED BEFORE MASS PRODUCTION. OTHERWISE THE MULTIPLE DESIGN FLAWS COULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. 3 PRONG PLUG ON A SHORT CORD.

I bought this specifically to make smoothies - with a mix and ice cubes.  It is very good though not perfect.  Sometimes it does not mix from top to bottom and vice versa.  I have to occassionally turn it off and stick in a long spoon because it is turning but the slush is sticking to the sides and not mixing top to bottom.  But it does a pretty good jobs turning ice to slush very quickly - even if I have to manually intervene when a chunk of ice isn't getting blended.

Seems solid  and easy to clean.

I wanted so much for this blender to be the one I had been looking for reasonable price, powerful and well built. It is reasonably priced but not very well built.  The first one lasted two weeks and the second one only one week. Even though it had a 5/10 year warranty it would not be worth the hassle to return every two weeks.

I am not sure what is failing but something in the drive system is failing and I followed the owners manual and added much more liquid than should have been necessary when crushing ice.

When it worked it is very powerfull and crushed ice very well.

I tried to research this blender prior to purchasing it but not much is available other than at Sears. I did discover that there was a 750 watt model that was plagued with drive / clutch problems but no longer available and since the 900 watt model had perfect reviews I thought the problems had been fixed.
