Great Humidifier but wrong description on website from Sears. Read below.
Sears is wrong with their description. This unit is programmable with a choice of how many hours to run and also has empty indicator w/ auto shut off. Bought as a replacement for my old Holmes wicker style filter unit for use in my bedroom & the living room. Bedroom is about 18X13 and Living room is roughly 20x15 plus kitchen. This little unit has some power and was able to bring both rooms up to 70% humidity with no struggles. I needed a dependable humidifier that worked well since I just had a tonsillectomy and a humidifier was the relief I needed for after surgery. This unit kept my throat moist after surgery and helped the recovery progress faster than without a humidifier or if I kept using my Holmes unit which never worked too well to start out with. Otherwise very quiet and both warm and cool mist modes work great. Sometimes the valve sticks shut and unit will sense it is out of water but then it will kick back on instantly. Going on 4 months no issues :)

Dont waste your time.
I do heating and air and have so for 18 years so I know how dry winters are and how important humidifiers are to total overall winter comfort. I have never needed a portable humidifier before until now, moving into a house with a boiler. This humidifier does nothing but make a great fog machine. It ran for 34 hours in a close to 500 square foot bedroom only stopping for a few minutes to refill. It would cycle on and off and hold the room at 49% humidity. GREAT! The only problem was my nose and skin were still dry. I tested the reading with my digital meter and the humidity in the room was 23%. Not sure if I have a bad unit but it seems to work fine as far as all the settings. I will be trying other units. Hope this helps you in your search for humidifiers.

Good product, Bad design

I've had the product for 2 weeks now and so far so good. With the exceptions of the following due to bad design: 1. Water spills every time you take the water container out of the unit. When lifting the water container, Shake/tilt the container to prevent spills. This could have been prevented by putting the water cap on TOP of the reservoir instead of the side. You can then just open the cap and pour in the water while the reservoir is still attached. 2. Setting the fan on high speed creates water drips from the steam nozzle. Setting fan on low solves this problem. 3. The manual recommends this unit be placed on water proof furniture to prevent water damage. As an alternative, I placed the unit on the small high absorbent towel. I recommend the product as long as the consumer is aware of its design flaws.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

works well but...

This humidifier works Extremely well but unless you get the tank lined up just right, and it can be difficult, it will overflow the reservoir and leak. It will auto shut off once the requested humidity level has been reached. Also has a 'tank empty' indicator which is nice.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

very pleased

Read the mixed reviews- made the purchase. The first time I used the machine water leaked out all over... BUT it was MY fault for not tightening the fill cap!!! Dried the table, added water, TIGHTENED the cap and its been running perfectly since then! Three days of ownership and I am pleased with the power behind the vapor- it really projects into the room; humidity controls and auto-shut off have operated perfectly. PLEASED!!

Great humidifier

We bought this and have been using it all winter. It has a small easy to carry and fill container. We fill it up almost every day. Depending on where you set it determines how often you fill it. I like this one a lot better than the one we had previously which wasn't a Sears product. We are very happy with our choice. My husband loves that you can have the mist cool or warm.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Going to try it a 3rd time

I'm currently on my 2nd one. The first one, the humidity level would never change. It was stuck on 30. My 2nd one has a loud whistle, and my wife can't stand it. However, it really works well. I'm going to return it and try a 3rd one. Hopefully, the third time is a charm.

This is it?.

Great digital controls with preprogram options as an option. Unit is stylish. No bright LED that remains lit. It only lights when you program, otherwise the backlight is off on the led. Makes an acceptable noise level. Does the job GREAT.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Easy to use

We recently purchased a 2000+ square foot condo with radiant floor heat. Because there is little air circulation we've been experiencing dry skin problems and excessive static electricity. We purchased this unit although it is only recommended for rooms of 700 square feet. Running the unit overnight we experienced a rise in RH from something less than 20% to where it is now at 46%.The unit ran in our bathroom which adjoins the master bedroom and walkin closet so I'm sure it was in an area of at least 700 square feet. It is now in a combined kitchen, living area and the reading is still 40%+. This area is well over 700 sq. ft. Unlike the description it does have an automatic cut off when the reservoir is empty. I recommended this unit to my daughter whose home also has radiant floor heat.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
