Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum - Superior Cleaning

Cleaning floors and furniture is now a simple process with the Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum. A 2-motor system, retractable cord storage, Stair Grip and variable speed settings make carpet and bare floor cleaning a cinch. This vacuum's true HEPA filter keeps pet dander and dust out of the air so you can breathe easy. From the 7-foot hose that swivels 360 degrees and reaches the highest surfaces to the Horsehair dusting brush for fine wooden furniture and floors, this vacuum has the tools to get the job done.

  • Designed to make cleaning-up after pets a cinch, the Pet PowerMate™ attachment lifts hair, dander and more from furniture, rugs and carpeting in seconds.
  • Ideal for all types of cleaning, the variable speed control lets you adjust the vacuuming speed based on the amount of dust and dirt you're picking up.
  • The exclusive Stair Grip™ feature keeps the canister body upright and securely in place while the stairs get cleaned, for solid performance and increased safety.
  • A 7-foot hose reaches from floor to ceiling, around corners and far beyond, so no matter where you need to clean, dirt cannot escape.
  • Quick to connect and featuring an array of attachments, the CrossOver Handle rapidly transitions the vacuum from carpet to flooring, crevice cleaning to pet hair pick-up.
  • The True HEPA certified filter can be trusted to remove almost all significant allergens from air flowing through the vacuum, so you can breathe easy.

Attachments are not very useful
I LOVE vacuums. Absolutely my favorite household appliace. Pros (and background) - I've owned this vacuum for about six months, after my previous Sears Progressive (upright) had it brush literally come out of the moldings. I had it for over 12 years. I replaced it with a this canister, since I've never had one and it sounded likfe fun, and (practically) I have a combo of wood, tile, rugs & carpets. I've been very pleased with the pickup of pet hair, dirt - whatever else I throw at it. I do enjoy being able to go from carpet to wood/tile floors with just a switch of the button, conveniently located on the handle. The telescoping wand is fun - I've enjoyed vacuuming my ceiling and getting spiders at a safe distance .. Cons - Tools. The crevice tool is not long enough to use on my sofa, between the seats in the car, or in the dryer's vent. The dust brush is too wide to use in slender places. I use my old upright for the tools because they're much better.

Piece of ****, cheap and missing features that other older vacuums had.
This vacuum is a POS.... the motor cuts out when you pull on hose. There is warning that says the vaccum won't operate if the hose isn't fully connected but apparently it is never fully connected or just the activity of pulling the vacuum to a new location puts it over the limit. I would take it back but bought it several months ago and only now took it out of the box. Still may try to return anyway, it is that bad. Can't imagine keeping/using for 15 years like past vacuums. Also no way to attach the vacuum head to the unit for easy carrying and storage. This is my second extremely poor experience with Kenmore products. Sorry Sears you've lost another customer due to crappy/cheap products.

Very bulky and not user friendly

This is my first canister vacuum that I have used since the free Kenmore I received years ago with my upright. I only have two area rugs and the rest is hardwood and tile. I used the vacuum two weeks sweeping the rugs in two directions to make sure I picked up my dogs fur. I liked the hardwood floor attachment, although it is a little small, the "dog hair" attachment did not work on my microfiber couch, and the handle extension was great but the knuckles of the joints were so big that they did not fit behind anything, and the crevasse tool is only 6 or seven inches long and hardly reached behind my flower pots. The most disturbing thing was the dog fur it left behind. See, I scrub my area rug about every 2 to 3 weeks, and I have just a basic scrubber. There are no circulating deep clean brushes only stationary brushes under the machine. When I went to change the dirty water out of the tank, there was an extreme amount of dog fur in the machines water and stuck in the brush. This tells me that it is not very good sweeper for the carpet area. My two pugs shed year round so I have to have a vacuum that picks up on all surfaces. Disappointed! =o( .

AWFUL CREVICE TOOL!!!!

The vacumm itself is nice, but the crevice tool is awful.  For the convenience.of snapping it under the handle the sides  have two slits that completely reduce suction, making it useless!! Whoever designed it must not clean very often!!!

Another Sears vacuum cleaner purchased

This is my 3rd or 4th Sears vacuum purchased over the past 40 years. I am happy with the consistent quality and helpful upgrades that come with each new vacuum.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Worst vacuum cleaner ever

This vacuum cleaner is a piece of plastic junk. We bought it for our new house as our tried and tested 13-year old Kenmore canister vacuum's power cord was tearing and rendering the vacuum unreliable. Unfortunately by the time we got this out of its box to use, it had just passed the 30-day return period. Tough luck for us. In order to use this on carpet, we had to turn on the power brush which ate up our new carpet, clogging the hose and spilling out fibers out of the bag in just one run through. Turning off the power brush meant this vacuum was completely useless as it barely had any suction power and couldn't pick up the lightest piece of dust! For the same reason, trying to use it on hard floors was useless. We put in a new bag and tried it out again and again, but each time we got the same result and frustration. Ultimately, a practically new Kenmore vacuum cleaner made its way to Goodwill and we felt robbed of our hard-earned $300++ by Sears for selling us this piece of junk.

Progressive Vacuum

Well this is my third vacuum in 24 years and I DO NOT like it. Kenmore has gone down with there vacuums. It does not have good suction at all and the hose is to big, you can not get into tight places. I vacuum and you canot tell, I have to go over places again. AND I DO NOT have animals in the house. I would hate to know what I would do if I did!! I have always loved my Kenmore canister vacuum but I should have listened to the reviews. Not a good vacuum. VERY Disappointed in KENMORE.

Great Vacuum

This vacuum is a very powerful and efficient product. We have a two story home with carpeted stairs that we tried to keep it clean with our current vacuum but with 2 cats and a dog it just was impossible and as time went by the carpet strands laid flat and kept the animal hairs and dirt down in the strands and never looked clean. When the carpet was installed six years ago we were told not to shampoo it. Then we saw the Kenmore Blueberry canister vacuum on sale so we bought one. When we got home we took it out of the box and used it on the stairs and boy it did a great job lifting up the strands and they stay up much longer and when we walk on it the strands bounce back up and look almost new again. The vacuum is rated very high and we have the proof why it is. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Vac & Customer Service

My mother has always used Kenmore vacs and has been very happy with them, so when her 20 plus years vacuum died, we headed for the Kirkwood Highway Sears store in Wilmington, DE. My mother is very pleased with this vacuum and with the new features it has compared to her old one. I recommend Kenmore vacuums to anyone considering purchasing one. I wish I could remember the name of the man who helped us because he was very friendly, polite and helpful. Thanks to his customer service, we were in and out of the store with a new vacuum in less than half and hour! Great vac and shopping experience!!
