Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum - Superior Cleaning

Cleaning floors and furniture is now a simple process with the Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum. A 2-motor system, retractable cord storage, Stair Grip and variable speed settings make carpet and bare floor cleaning a cinch. This vacuum's true HEPA filter keeps pet dander and dust out of the air so you can breathe easy. From the 7-foot hose that swivels 360 degrees and reaches the highest surfaces to the Horsehair dusting brush for fine wooden furniture and floors, this vacuum has the tools to get the job done.

  • Designed to make cleaning-up after pets a cinch, the Pet PowerMate™ attachment lifts hair, dander and more from furniture, rugs and carpeting in seconds.
  • Ideal for all types of cleaning, the variable speed control lets you adjust the vacuuming speed based on the amount of dust and dirt you're picking up.
  • The exclusive Stair Grip™ feature keeps the canister body upright and securely in place while the stairs get cleaned, for solid performance and increased safety.
  • A 6-foot hose reaches from floor to ceiling, around corners and far beyond, so no matter where you need to clean, dirt cannot escape.
  • Quick to connect and featuring an array of attachments, the CrossOver Handle rapidly transitions the vacuum from carpet to flooring, crevice cleaning to pet hair pick-up.
  • The True HEPA certified filter can be trusted to remove almost all significant allergens from air flowing through the vacuum, so you can breathe easy.

Attachments are not very useful
I LOVE vacuums. Absolutely my favorite household appliace. Pros (and background) - I've owned this vacuum for about six months, after my previous Sears Progressive (upright) had it brush literally come out of the moldings. I had it for over 12 years. I replaced it with a this canister, since I've never had one and it sounded likfe fun, and (practically) I have a combo of wood, tile, rugs & carpets. I've been very pleased with the pickup of pet hair, dirt - whatever else I throw at it. I do enjoy being able to go from carpet to wood/tile floors with just a switch of the button, conveniently located on the handle. The telescoping wand is fun - I've enjoyed vacuuming my ceiling and getting spiders at a safe distance .. Cons - Tools. The crevice tool is not long enough to use on my sofa, between the seats in the car, or in the dryer's vent. The dust brush is too wide to use in slender places. I use my old upright for the tools because they're much better.

Piece of ****, cheap and missing features that other older vacuums had.
This vacuum is a POS.... the motor cuts out when you pull on hose. There is warning that says the vaccum won't operate if the hose isn't fully connected but apparently it is never fully connected or just the activity of pulling the vacuum to a new location puts it over the limit. I would take it back but bought it several months ago and only now took it out of the box. Still may try to return anyway, it is that bad. Can't imagine keeping/using for 15 years like past vacuums. Also no way to attach the vacuum head to the unit for easy carrying and storage. This is my second extremely poor experience with Kenmore products. Sorry Sears you've lost another customer due to crappy/cheap products.

Progressive Canister Vacuum

I have only used this vacuum twice since my purchase but so far I love it, I have 18 stairs to clean and this was easier to use than others I have had.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Works really well

Bought to clean rugs, hardwood, and cat litter. Works very well for all three and doesn't throw litter every where.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

It stinks

I've had sears canister vacuum cleaners for years, however this new design stinks. If it is not broke, why fix it. This new design has a big bulky end when you unhook attachments, so unable to get into tight spaces. The crevice tool puts half the suction out to the side so you loose full suction powder at the end. The power nozzle for carpets doesn't seem to really grip to carpet even on extra low setting. Just seems to float over the top without much suction. Had to end up buying an upright for my carpets. Didn't notice this with previous models. I have always liked these vacuums, but not this one. Another thing, the flexible hose that attaches to the hose handle will eventually crack and suck air there. Duck tape it and you will get a little more life out of it. They should have redesigned this area instead.

NOT PROGRESSIVE ENOUGH....

This unit was recommended by Consumer Report. For use on floors and rugs, very good and dependable. However, have to use dust mop to go under furniture and then vacuum up from that. This wand is to wide for under dressers, desks and bureaus. Now because of this wand end the tools are useless. The brush, I guess, is for baseboards only. Too little brush and too much hard plastic for causing scratches. Very disappointed. Had an ELECTROLUX since 1977. Motor died, but will pay for rebuilt and hopefully it will run for a long time....... This Kenmore is not even on par with my older vacuum. If needing to vacuum floors and will move all furniture out of room - go for it. Otherwise, use a mop.

Checked Consumer Reports before I purchased this item.

The vacuum does an excellent job and the attachments are easy to use. I bought the canister due to having wood floors thru out my home. The carpet attachment cleans my large area rugs well.

Old reliable, but yet improved

Loved this vacuum when I bought it 9 years ago so I it was a no brainer to buy the same machine. Love the improvements. Telescoping handle, hardwood floor attachment with pivoting head, easily detachable shaft for furniture attachment use, and it is a pretty color to boot. the ergonomic improvement make vacuuming easier on your back. I'd recommend this vacuum to anyone needing a new machine.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
