Cleaning floors and furniture is now a simple process with the Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum. A 2-motor system, retractable cord storage, Stair Grip and variable speed settings make carpet and bare floor cleaning a cinch. This vacuum's true HEPA filter keeps pet dander and dust out of the air so you can breathe easy. From the 7-foot hose that swivels 360 degrees and reaches the highest surfaces to the Horsehair dusting brush for fine wooden furniture and floors, this vacuum has the tools to get the job done.

  • Designed to make cleaning-up after pets a cinch, the Pet PowerMate™ attachment lifts hair, dander and more from furniture, rugs and carpeting in seconds.
  • Ideal for all types of cleaning, the variable speed control lets you adjust the vacuuming speed based on the amount of dust and dirt you're picking up.
  • The exclusive Stair Grip™ feature keeps the canister body upright and securely in place while the stairs get cleaned, for solid performance and increased safety.
  • A 7-foot hose reaches from floor to ceiling, around corners and far beyond, so no matter where you need to clean, dirt cannot escape.
  • Quick to connect and featuring an array of attachments, the CrossOver Handle rapidly transitions the vacuum from carpet to flooring, crevice cleaning to pet hair pick-up.
  • The True HEPA certified filter can be trusted to remove almost all significant allergens from air flowing through the vacuum, so you can breathe easy.

Attachments are not very useful
I LOVE vacuums. Absolutely my favorite household appliace. Pros (and background) - I've owned this vacuum for about six months, after my previous Sears Progressive (upright) had it brush literally come out of the moldings. I had it for over 12 years. I replaced it with a this canister, since I've never had one and it sounded likfe fun, and (practically) I have a combo of wood, tile, rugs & carpets. I've been very pleased with the pickup of pet hair, dirt - whatever else I throw at it. I do enjoy being able to go from carpet to wood/tile floors with just a switch of the button, conveniently located on the handle. The telescoping wand is fun - I've enjoyed vacuuming my ceiling and getting spiders at a safe distance .. Cons - Tools. The crevice tool is not long enough to use on my sofa, between the seats in the car, or in the dryer's vent. The dust brush is too wide to use in slender places. I use my old upright for the tools because they're much better.

Piece of ****, cheap and missing features that other older vacuums had.
This vacuum is a POS.... the motor cuts out when you pull on hose. There is warning that says the vaccum won't operate if the hose isn't fully connected but apparently it is never fully connected or just the activity of pulling the vacuum to a new location puts it over the limit. I would take it back but bought it several months ago and only now took it out of the box. Still may try to return anyway, it is that bad. Can't imagine keeping/using for 15 years like past vacuums. Also no way to attach the vacuum head to the unit for easy carrying and storage. This is my second extremely poor experience with Kenmore products. Sorry Sears you've lost another customer due to crappy/cheap products.

Don't buy it- doesn't reach under low furniture etc...accessibility issues.

I used to own a Kenmore vacuum cleaner, which I LOVED. It was over 10 years old and one day it just died. Well, since I did love that vacuum cleaner so much I thought I will stick with Kenmore once again and bought this model. BIG MISTAKE. I should have believed the past reviews...but I did not...now I really REGRET buying it. It still works well vacuuming, but the one major change they did was a HORRIBLE change. This one does not reach no longer underneath most furniture due to new design. I can't no longer vacuum under cabinets or anything that has very low/shallow access. It also has less attachments and not having a furniture brush is a major disappointment. I remember bringing this point with the salesman and they just laughed and said well you must have very SMALL furniture....Please do your due diligence before wasting your money on this vacuum cleaner. Very sad & disappointed client...

Overall
Cleans very well, but needs simple design improvements

After owning many bagged & bagless uprights, canisters, and central vacuums for the past 50 years, we found this Kenmore canister to be a great value and it cleaned our entire house very well. Miele, Electrolux, etc. were much more expensive and didn't have half the features that this Kenmore included. PROS: Strong canister suction, long retractable cord, long electric hose, hose handle with electronic suction control and power switch for the canister and the power nozzle, telescopic wand, sturdy power nozzle that stands upright, has multiple carpet height adjustments, a headlight, and an easy to use foot release (While vacuuming carpets, the power nozzle almost feels like it is self-propelled and is fun and easy to use). The power mate jr. cleans pet hair off furniture very well. The big wheels on the canister make it easy to move around. Stair lock on canister is a good safety feature. Large disposable dust bag (also available in cloth HEPA) is convenient, easy to change, and clean. HEPA filter is great! The color and design of this vacuum make it look very attractive. Many features at an affordable price. Often on sale too!!!! CONS: The canister, hose, hose handle, and power nozzle could all be much lighter and smaller. Although the hose swivels 360' on the canister, the swivel should really be on the handle to prevent the hose from kinking (Miele, Electrolux, Etc., have the swivel on the handle). Also, the hose should be crushproof like on Miele. The built in dusting brush on the handle is too wide for most cleaning tasks, the bristles are too short, is cumbersome to use, and looks very ugly. The dusting brush should have long bristles, should be narrow, and should be stored inside the canister. In addition, the crevice tool that is also attached to the hose handle is way too short for any crevice task and is the least used attachment of all (It wasn't necessary to be stored on the hose handle. This should've been stored inside the canister). The swivel design bare floor tool is too short for cleaning large area bare floors and the new swivel design neck keeps getting stuck and doesn't work well. CONCLUSION: None of the canister vacuums we researched were perfect, nor did they have as many included features of this Kenmore. A vacuum is supposed to clean well and this was definitely accomplished with this Kenmore model. If we didn't need the power mate jr. to clean furniture pet hair and didn't want a telescopic wand, we could've selected the less expensive green or orange Kenmore canisters that both had an electric power nozzle for carpets. These models also had much lighter hose handles, but had a shorter hose and exposed power nozzle wire on the wands.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Don't make them like they used to

Purchased my last Progressive Canister Vac in 1998. I've moved several times since then - three states and most recently across the country from west coast to east coast - and the vac has survived all the moves and still runs great. It's been repaired twice, but still in excellent condition. Purchased this second vac for the second floor so I don't have to haul the other one up and down the stairs. What a disappointment to compare the two. Everything now is made of plastic (used to be metal wands, etc.), the brushes are inferior, several of the (cheap plastic attachments/brushes) can no longer can be stored in the top of the vac because of a design change in the canister - a real inconvenience. I doubt this one will hold up like the last one I purchased. The only good news is that the suction is still powerful.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great canister vacuum

It was finally time to replace a progressive canister that I have had for more than 6 years.. After researching many brands of canister vacuums, I was drawn to the Progressive Blueberry. It is a pleasure to use and has great suction that works well for pet hair and dirt, This canister vacuum works wonderful on carpet and hardwood floor, you can also adjust the suction. My husband and I both love the telescopic handle as we are both tall and it allows us to have better body mechanics during our vacuuming task. The assembly of the vacuum was a breeze. This canister has strong suction, good filtration, quiet motor, good construction, long hose, long cord, stair hugging feature, motorized pet tool, and great suction. This is a really great vacuum that cleans very well. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase the Progressive Blueberry Canister.

great suction.

My wife loves it and we got a great price. We tried it straight out of the box and both agree that the suction and carpet beater are the best we have seen in a canister. We opened the box in our dog occupied garage on the 6 x 10 rug in front of the door to the house. if it works here it will work anywhere in our house. between yard dirt and dog hair we count on this rug to catch dirt on its way inside and it does. now we have a vacuum equal to the task of quickly cleaning this rug and anything else. we use the hepa bags.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
