this is a great FLOOR cleaner
When I first went looking for a carpet cleaner I started out looking for a home buffer so I could duplicate the dry in 1 hour professional carpet cleaners. This is what I found. After reading the reviews I was a little nervous about the fact it use water but had no vac. people said it works so great I did not mind moping up the extra water. I bought it any ways and my 1st attempt at cleaning a carpet I couldn't get over water being left in the rug so I purchased spray carpet cleaner and used it with that, and no water My carpet was beautiful. Then I cleaned my floors I found I could easily control the amount of water used and mopping it up was worth the clean I received. My floors had not had this deep of clean ever and I have the koolaid house and 3 dogs I use it to deep clean my floors and if my carpet cleaner needs help it is a great extra tool

Good idea but..........
I have a kitchen in my home about 12x18 with commercial tiles the one you normally see in a supermarket. Just to give an idea of what I was using this machine for. The idea to bring a commercial type machine down to a level for the average home owner is a noble concept. The machine does have the power, the 3 speeds work great. Brushes and pad goes on easy. Unfortunately that's where it ends. The manual was a joke and the fit and finish is terrible. 1) It could use a bit more weight. 2) The handle is wobbly. 3) The solution container does not hold tightly to the handle it keeps popping off. 4) The motor and brush housing is plastic made to look like chrome metal. 5) The cap on the solution compartment where the solution dispense out pops off on numerous occasion because there isn't enough thread for the cap to screw on tightly or the cap is not deep enough. 6) Here is one i can't figure out, the solution compartment has numbers on the side to let you know how much liquid is in the compartment, unless you have Xray vision, you can't tell. They should have added a see thru strip down the side so you could see the liquid. Once again the idea is great, but the design and implementation along with fit and finish is terrible.

NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL

I purchased this item online last yr, after usign a very older model of this shamppooer, I loved the original and after 5 yrs on the older model, I found out sears soLD the newer version so I thought perfect, thsi was the best shampooer I have ever used. When I received it and started usign the new one I could tell right away there was a difference, it got out some stains but wasn't consistent, so I said ok maybe I need to keep using, which i did but it seems liek it was gettign worse over time, and also the little bottom part that you wrap the cord around at the bottom broke off immediately. So anyway I'm too done with this shampooer, I decided to contact Sears by chat a few months ago and she basically said it was past 90 days so only option is take to a repair place, but closest in my area is 2 hours away(geez), so i don't have time and I feel like why should I spend my time and gas, so I decided to just let it go and stick shampooer in corner.

Not impressed

The screw on nipple on the tank would not stay on, The threads were plastic and warped. I never put fluid in the tank, it would have leaked out. I put the machine back in the box and took it back.

Floor scrubber great!

Bought this model to replace the same floor scrubber we had for more than 15 years. Hope to get at least 15 years from this one. Easy to assemble, and use. Quick & easy shopping on line & pick up at the local store. Easy to use & handle- not too heavy for a female to use. Everything included to assemble & use right away.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

the Kenmore Professional Carpet Shampooer/Hard Floor Cleaner /b

About 20 years ago I bought a Kenmore Heavy Duty Cleaning Machine and loved it. After years of great service, I needed to buy another and that lasted about 9 years. I am so happy that I was able to find Sears selling this machine with some upgrades. It is FANTASTIC, easy to use, easy to carry and clean. It works well on hardwood floors and carpet cleaning.

The Kenmore Carpet Shampooer is amazing!

This carpet shampooer is effective and easy to use! I find it simple to operate. It cleans whole carpet areas easily or you can just clean spots. It will save us a lot on carpet cleaning and I can clean whenever I'd like to.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Carpet Shampooer/Buffer was a wise purchase for me.

I have a 4000 SF home with 50% tile floors.  I have never been able to keep them clean without getting down on my hands and knees.  I was able to clean ALL of my tile in about 4 hours.  I tried different cleaning products and found out that water with mild soap worked the best.  This product is well made, quiet, and functional.  I am glad I bought it.

When I went into the Gardens Square Mall Sears and met with Marilyn, she told me that she had sold a number of these units over the years.  She was very helpful.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Broke during first use!

I researched carpet cleaners, and I finally chose this one because it also does bare floors. My husband is in the military, and we move a lot, so I can't anticipate what kind of flooring we'll have in the future.

The set up was pretty easy, but the unit is fairly cheap-looking. The "metallic" part at the bottom is actually plastic, though. It looks like metal in the picture, but it's not.

The instructions are easy to follow, but one thing I didn't see in my reviews: this unit does not suck the water back up. It just spits out the water and the brushes spin over the carpet. Most of the other models I saw would suck the water back into the unit so you could actually remove the dirt and debris from the carpet.

And the really bad part: I only got one minute into cleaning when it broke. The switch box fell off. It just FELL OFF. The assembly instructions said to not tighten too much, so I made sure to stop screwing it on once it became stable. But it still fell off. The problem is that the entire switch box is held on by a little tiny plastic hook and a screw. Seriously, the screw to hold on the switch box (the electrical component!) was smaller than the screws to put the handle together.

Also, it sputtered water, even when the trigger wasn't activated. I stopped it and followed the instructions to fix this problem, but it didn't do a thing.

Lastly, it doesn't stand upright when not in use. When I stopped using it, I set it up, and it immediately fell over. Not a huge problem, but somewhat inconvenient.

My husband and I promptly returned this to Sears and traded it in for a Hoover. He's setting it up right now, so I can't compare, but it already seems sturdier than the Kenmore model.

I gave it two stars becasue it did do a good job cleaning the carpets. Before it broke.

Thank goodness Sears has a great return policy!

Works well, but has annoying flaws

The machine is easy to assemble, easy to use. I use it to polish and buff my waxed hardwood floors. However, the tan polishing pads fly off the machine frequently. a HUGE annoyance and time-waster. As i understand the directions, those are the pads i must use to buff after waxing but i hate them!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great at textured tiles.

I have only had the opportunity to use it on tile so far. Its amazing how well it cleans a texture tile. The machine does leak though enough to be an annoyance.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
