Great Cooktop
Before we purchased the cooktop (and the Kenmore Pro double oven) we read several negative reviews. I almost backed out of the sale, but decided to get it anyway. We do some pretty serious cooking and have been looking for something that would suit our needs. The cooktop was delivered on a Friday. We installed it on Saturday and gave it a good "break in" on Sunday by cooking an after Thanksgiving meal for 10 people. At one point we had 4 burners going and the double oven cooking in both places. Both items worked flawlessly! Our next major meal was a Christmas dinner where we did 200 homemade ravioli. The cooktop once again preformed exceptionally, heating water in 2 large pots fast and keeping them boiling for about two hours. If you are looking for a quality cooking surface, I recommend this cooktop without reservation. As far as cleaning, it has been fairly easy. The glass surface under the burners is easy to get clean with a bit of mild soap or spray cleaner. I don't use the special cleaning materials that came with the unit. As long as I get the surface cleaned I am not that worried if I cannot see my reflection on the glass surface. Get this cooktop and enjoy!

Not worth the money! difficult to clean and problematic!

We had this slide in gas cook top installed last June when we built our new home and find it overall disappointing. First, it is nearly impossible to clean. We cook every day for a family of four, and by the end of the day it always needs cleaning. However, it cannot simply be wiped down. The owners manual devotes several pages to the proper cleaning instructions for each piece. Every type of material on the cook top requires a different type of cleaner. This is not only expensive, but tedious. Also, the front, left burner produces a "popping" sound every time it is in use for more than 5 minutes. The sound is extremely annoying. Guests have commented on it when they are at our home because it is so bothersome. Recently, the strongest burner also malfunctioned. The flame has become so big on this burner it is coming out the side. We will be having this product serviced after just 6 months of ownership.

This stove looks GREAT!

This is a really nice looking stove. I have not had any trouble with the knobs, and this baby is so much easier to keep clean than my previous gas stove. My only complaint is that there is no easy way to use the two-burner griddle. First, the one that came with the stove is two small to fit over any two adjacent burners, the handles fall right in the middle of the fires - definitely not safe! Second, while I do have a larger griddle, even it only covers a set of front and back burners, no two of which on this stove have the same output or size, so it is difficult to get even heating. I have yet to find a griddle long enough to cover two side-by-side burners on this stove.

So far its great!!!!

My husband and I are in the process of updating our kitchen, and I have always wanted a gas stove top with an electrict oven. So my husband bought me the Kenmore Pro 36" gas cook top and a Kenmore Pro wall oven. So far I love my cooktop!! I have been using it for about a month and have had no problems. The automatic ignite function is great, makes lighting the burners so simple and quick!!! I can use all my pots on this cooktop from my small sauce pans to my really large stew pots. I never knew what I was missing by not cooking with gas. Love this product!

Kenmore PRO Gas Cooktop (Knob Re-attachment)

Just bought the 36 inch slide-in cooktop and had the same problem with the knobs. Upon close examination, I discovered when you ensure that the flat part of knob is aligned with flat part of the knob shaft and you push down, you may have to also adjust the entire knob because the edge of the knob itself maybe getting stopped by the outter rim that surrounds the knob. Once I made this discovery and adjustment, I was able to replace knob each time I took it off. A little fustrating at first if you don't get what's happening. As far as the cooktop itself....WOW! As one other reviewer put it, "Love the professional look with the low price point!!"

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore Pro Cooktop: great look and value, adequate performance

We purchased this cooktop as part of a package when we built our new home 18 months ago.  We did a lot of research before making final appliance decisions. We also have the dishwasher and double wall ovens in this line and the kitchen looks beautiful. Collectively, I'm very pleased with the Pro products.  I'm not a gourmet, but I enjoy baking and cooking and our kitchen is a focal point of the home.

I love having six burners with varying BTUs, prefer gas for cooktops, and think it cleans up easily. I'm careful when replacing the grates after cleaning as they scratch/nick the stainless trim. My preference would be another standard burner instead of the triple burner; the stated purpose of the burner is to accommodate small/large cookware, but it doesn't seem necessary and mine can't maintain a flame on the low settings.  The low setting isn't significantly different from medium on my other burners. Despite concerns, this is a good value.

This cooktop works and look great

Like all of you who are reading this review i read so many reviews before i purchased my cooktop almost a year ago. I read many bad reviews about it and was little scared to spend this much money. But i loved the way this cooktop looks so i decided to purchase it and try my luck. And i am so glad that i purchased this beautiful cooktop. It's been a year since i am using it and have no complains. Looks and work absolutely fine. Highly recommend this to everyone. Knobs could have been little better but other than that nothing wrong with this cooktop. Received so many compliments and really happy with my purchase :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pro cooktop does not fit into standard 36" base cabinet.

The 36" pro gas range does not fit into standard 36" base cabinets (Kraftmade, Thomasville, etc.)  The operational base is 35.5" wide and cabinet must be severly altered to accommodate appliance.  Poor design on part of Frigidaire, as inside of largest 36" base cabinet is 35" maximum.
