Overall, others give this:
I am a `coffeeholic' with pot otr two of rich coffee going 6+ hrs./day. Always on a tight budget for this type purchase , in the past I have bought `basket type' coffee makers like Proctor & Gamble, Black & Decker; Mr. Coffee on sale for $13- $18...Even tried more expensive cone filtered/permanent filter `Krups' on sale @ Bed, Bath, & Beyond once - None of them lasted more than 10-12 months before burning out. Then, I found this Kenmore coffee maker on sale for about $30 two yrs. ago and decided to try it... What a find! - Better coffee with cone filter and still going strong after 2 yrs. of heavy daily use!!

This coffee maker is fast, delivers an entire pot in 5-8 minutes (6-10 cups). The flavor the cone shaped filter extracts cannot be beat, much better than the basket types. Does not overheat or burn coffee. Was hesitant about cone shaped filters at first but they NEVER collapse (Melita #4), are easy to use and deliver great coffee flavor at ANY number of cups. Clean up is quick and the filters and grounds are good for the garden. The metal filter is messier to use, but works well. Recommend this unconditionally.
I used to always get my coffee at Starbucks or similar coffeehouses, decided to start making my own to save $, so I invested in this coffeemaker. I trusted the Kenmore quality, and it really delivers! I do use the paper filters, for smoother taste, though it's not necessary with this coffeemaker, just my own preference. Works perfectly, coffee perfect temp, and tastes awesome! Great purchase, which is why I shop at Sears, I trust the products!
Have been using this coffee maker for a week now, it has so far impressed me as the best maker I've had in the last 30 years! (I bought the stainless steel model) This machine does all it claims to. However the specs say it does not have sneak a cup feature... But it DOES have it and the pot pours without dribbling too. It makes a very clean, smooth pot of coffee, due I'm sure to the replaceable charcoal water filter. The only issue is that the gold coffee filter basket is somewhat difficult to rinse out cleanly so I plan to start using paper cone filters with it to end this problem. Very well made, high quality and works perfectly!! Worth more than it's price.
I couldn't believe the difference just in the taste of my coffee from this coffee pot. Much better and I am assuming it is because of the charcoal filter inside. You wont regret your purchase. I loved it so much I bought another for my grandmother
This is a great coffee maker, especially for the sale price of $35. It has the gold, permanent filter and auto-off and is programmable. Better than the cusinart it replaced.
I like the quick and quiet brewing and it looks good on the counter. The filter basket is easier to clean than my last 2 coffeemakers because the flutes on the inside are all parallel. Most have them going in different directions which make it tougher. The only problem's I've encountered is the carafe's plastic rim makes it tough to pour all the water out of it. It is especially annoying when filling the tank. Also there are up and down arrows encased in a square in the display. The manual does not explain them and I only found out after resetting the water filter cycle count. I purchased mine at Kmart and they don't sell the replacement filters.
First, let me say do not hesitate buying this maker. It makes a great cup of coffee. It has the cone style gold filter - no need to buy filters. The only issue for me is the small water reservoir area makes it difficult to pour in the last bit of water. Now pay attention - their specifications are wrong. It is not 6.5" high. It is 13.5" high. It does not have 12 - 14 cups. It is 4-12 cups. It does have stop and serve, you can get coffee during brewing.
