Humidistat is extremely inaccurate. Poorly fabricated with cheap plastic parts. Humidifier Filter Pad Holder is a real chore to get it to hold the filter. Filters themselves are poorly constructed. Out of water indicator does not work properly. Yes, it does humidify if you don't might a lot of work to get it to work half way properly!! On-line registration for Warranty Protection does not work! Instruction manual inadequate!
I was tired of small humidifiers that I had to fill several times a day. This came, I set it up, filled the containers, and put it on automatic. I now refill the containers about once a day; it takes no time to pick them up and fill them with about 5 gallons of water. I never wonder if I have the correct humidity; it does it automatically. I have it set up in a 32 ft. X 17 ft. room with 14 foot ceilings. The fans are much quieter than what I thought, after reading a previous review. As a matter of fact, I don't even hear them with the pellet stove running. I am so glad I found this and would recommend it to anyone!
Does it work? This unit was not my first choice based on the available reviews but I needed something that was in stock locally. Due to the below zero temperatures and the pellet stove running constantly the house was extremely dry. When I pulled this out of the box and filled it with water it had the house back up to 40% humidity overnight. I?m sure we were about 15% prior to that. based on my one week of use, it is functional and does what it says. Quality? The overall manufacturing quality of this unit is pretty poor and I would lay part of the blame on the quality control department (or lack there of). The holes in the water tanks were not even trimmed so there was excess plastic that just looked like **** but didn?t really effect the operation. Loose pieces of plastic in the bottom of the unit. (you really should not have to vacuum something like this out when you get it) The plastic used on the unit is very this and brittle. There is a plastic collar and clip that is located on the float. You should be able to push the clip through the housing to mont the float. I gently compressed the clip and it snapped immediately. Overall, it?s cheap and I don?t think it?s going to be one of those units that you use for ten plus years. It will probably break much sooner. Fan Noise: The fan has three speeds and can also operate in automatic where it will vary the speed based on the humidity set point. When you set it to auto you will find there is no headband in the setting so the fan may continue to jump from low to medium and back based on one percent difference. It?s kind of a pain. Low speed is extremely quiet and you will probably only need this speed once the house has reached the set point that you desire. Medium is a bit louder and you definitely know it?s running but you can still communicate. High speed sounds like a loud air conditioner or a small Mac truck. Use it when you need it but don?t stay in the room without ear plugs. Water tanks. The tanks are easy to remove and refill. Have not had an issue with the spring loaded valves as some people have mentioned. Overall I struggled to give this a rating of three out of five and I only went that high because functionally, it works well but I'm afraid it will not last long based on the material. I would look at the Holmes version prior to this.
I have read several reviews from people who say they were upset because they didn't get the manual or the 2 plungers when they opened the box at home. We just bought one and did the same thing, so I took it back to the store the next day and the salesman opened it up and lifted the top part that is over the filters, and guess what he found inside one of the filters.....yes, it was a plastic bag containing the manual and the "missing" parts. We didn't know enough to remove the top or we would have easily found everything we needed. I'm guessing we are not the only ones this has happened to. Brought it back home and it is working perfectly. No more shocks every time I hit a light switch or the dog!
This humidifier replaced a very old one. It works very well and I quiet. I especially like the two tanks that are remove able to refill. They are much more sanitary than the old open humidifier.
Besides looking good, the humidifier runs very smoothly and on the F1 setting is very quiet and can hardly be heard running. We have had the item for a couple of weeks now, and finding that the unit takes care of our entire house of approximately 2300 square feet. A pleasure to have. My wifes skin is not so dry and rough feeling from the winter dryness.
So far I love the humidifier! I had bought an Essick one and it was a disaster. This one is providing the appropriate humidity level in the house. The only thing is the fan speed. Speed 1 you can hardly hear, but wasn't putting out enough moisture. Speed 2 is pretty loud. But, so far this is the one I would buy again.
Needed a humidifier as I had nose bleeds and this works good for this and helps the electric shocks that you get in the winter.

Love it. We had one just like it for 7years and it worked great so we bought one just like it. It looks like a nice piece of furniture and runs very quietly the reason the old one had to be replaced was because our water is very hard and it wouldn't work right.
