GREAT Humidifier
I just got mine and I have to tell everyone to read your manuals! Luckily I do. I just happened to read the reviews here today for giggles and noticed the first two reviews people were complaining about the tanks. The manual says that the right tank empties first. Until the right tank is empty the left one will remain full. I've been using mine for a few days now and BOTH TANKS WILL EMPTY. The right one goes first and once its totally empty the left one will empty. Some people could save themselves a lot of money and time if they'd read the directions. Glad I was taught to do that....lol. Thanks Kenmore for the great products. This is my third and I'll continue to get more.

Disappointed
Purchased this humidifier on Oct 28 2013...it's now Nov 4 2013 and the unit has quit working. The display stays on reads so called current humidity in house but I have a separate readout that says it's 10% less humid in the house, so not accurate. Even if I turn humidity level up and fan speed to F3 it does not turn on. I have followed all the instructions for setup which is basically making sure it's level, placed away from heat duct, away from outside wall. It has water, float is activating switch for fans but nothing. Frustrating part is emptying and boxing the unit back up for return and also finding out after being on hold for sometime with my local Sears store that the 2 units they are showing as being in inventory are not, they have no replacement for me. What has happened to Kenmore products? Made in ?

Humidifier

I love this humidifier. My daughter gave me this one years ago and it was wonderful. Well it finally died this winter and I went and got the same one because it lasted so long and did such a good job of putting moisture in the house all winter. My husband and I are in our 60's so you know we get dry skin. Worth every penny that we spent. Thank You Sear's!

Using for 4 level home

Goes through 5 gallons a day holding 40%. This is our 6th year. Must be level to a bit high in front to keep the float up enough to run until the tanks empty. We put shims under the front wheels because of our thick carpet. Must change filters each year. Don't always have filters in stock, so buy ahead.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This humidifier works great.

Just an FYI to anyone that buys this, the instruction manual comes hidden inside the unit. The caps for the water jugs are also sitting in a bag in the bottom of the unit. At first I thought they had forgot to send them, but I finally found them. I am very happy with this humidifier, and it is keeping my whole house comfortable. I have the humidifier sitting near an air return and whenever the furnace runs it pulls in the air through the return and circulates it through the whole house. The water jugs had a "burr" on them where the cap connects, so I did have to take a knife to cut the burr down and get the cap on. It is nice and quiet when you have it running on low speed (F1), however when you turn it up to a higher speed (F2 or F3), you can definitely hear it. Fortunately though, the unit is able to keep my house comfortable on low speed..

Humidifier

This humidifier only lasted a few months before a fixture inside where the tank rests broke off causing leakage.

WASTED MONEY

Thin and flimsy didn't bother because it worked. The wicks are hard to keep clean, even with humidifier conditioner, and they are expensive. Having said that, I would have given it a 4 star until today, just over a year old. Woke up and it stopped working. The speed button no longer works and it only works on low, which would only humidify on a rainy day. Push the button and nothing happens. This product is only used part of the year, in a vacation home. As for actual use, I probably only got three months use. I almost bought wicks last week, which would have wasted more money. If you can afford you would save money and frustration by having a whole house humidifier installed by an HVAC specialist. This purchase is a good portion of having one installed that only has to be tended to a couple of times a year. I will live with a dry home now until I find a cost effective solution. This is part of the profit for corporations at the expense of the consumer. If this was purchased in the 60's and made in America, it would probably still be running. Worst purchase I have ever made in my life.

Helps greatly with temps in frigid weather

Could not believe how much added humidity helped keep the family room, in the basement, warmer than ever! Easy to fill and use. The clip to keep the float in place is fragile. Easily broke off one side of it upon installation. Otherwise really like this product.

Excellent for dry winters

I was having severe nose bleeds and my skin was very chalky. I ordered this humidifier and was able to boost my inside humidity from 29% to 55% within a few hours. After a few days I am no longer having nose bleeds and my skin is starting to show signs of recovery from the last few months of winter dryness. I highly recommend this item for anyone having issues with dry air in their home. This humidifier is attractive unlike most humidifiers I've seen and it does a great job maintaining moisture in my entire 1800 square foot house.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Works, but, it sure has it's issues!

Humidistat is extremely inaccurate. Poorly fabricated with cheap plastic parts. Humidifier Filter Pad Holder is a real chore to get it to hold the filter. Filters themselves are poorly constructed. Out of water indicator does not work properly. Yes, it does humidify if you don't might a lot of work to get it to work half way properly!! On-line registration for Warranty Protection does not work! Instruction manual inadequate!
