We got about 30 gallons before the membrane went, while it leaked continuously on our cabinets and even to the basement floor. We called within days of it being installed and Sears scheduled service, but the man did not show, but rather called 10 minutes before he was to be here indicating he clearly did not wish to make the service call. Our water bill increased to double from 36 bucks to an even 72 bucks. I expect it ended up costing us, including installation, about $10 per gallon +. Membranes and filters are not covered by warranty even if they go out the first day. Sears dropped the ball on this thus we will not be purchasing any more appliances from Sears in the future.
Sears does not sell the replacement membranes at their local stores. You will need to travel to a parts center. It is a total inconvenience and they do not tell you this when you buy thesyaytem

i researched on the internet on the different water systems the reverse osmosis was the best type of system to get the tubes were all color coded so it was easy enough to hook up.
I've had this unit for several years and recently they started raising the prices on the replacement filters. I used to buy a complete set for about $114 but they just charged me almost $200 for a set of filters. For $54 dollars more I could buy a brand new unit. The units work well, best I've had. But they are not ripping us off on replacement filters. While I'm using up the set I just bought I will be researching and will change to another brand. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER SEARS UNIT because of their rip off prices on replacement filters.

I don't even like the style of this faucet, but the fact that it is only available in chrome makes me want to return the whole system. I want a brushed steel/nickle option but that isn't available because I'm not supposed to be able to match this to my kitchen faucet or stainless steel appliances. I would just replace the faucet for another brand's more stylish faucet BUT the filter indicator light is on this faucet so unless I feel like paying a plumber to uninstall & reinstall a new unit I'm stuck with this ugly look I hate.

This is my third unit. It produces great tasting water. We were fracked before it became chemical wise. EPA says its gone, but just to be sure I have these for drinking water.
In only a few months this developed an internal leak at some factory plastic welded joint and the slow leak ruined very expensive cabinets. Sears will not even warranty the product (yet has a 1 year warranty) and absolutely won't discuss the water damage done. Avoid at all costs.
