Kenmore Elite Electronic Convection Toaster Oven

The unit's simple and straight forward. Has an annoying tiny blue LED light that stays on when the unit's connected to but that's not too bad. It comes with a 12" stone (ceramic) cook plate, which is nice. The controls are simple, the temperature advances by 25 degree increments from 150 to 450 (bake) - produced by a 1500W heating element(s). It uses halogen type of heaters which warm up real fast compared to conventional heating element(s) but produce a brighter orange glow than normal. The convection (fan) is on by default and cannot be turned off. But perhaps because of it, baking and broiling both produce very evenly cooked meals and baked goods. The timer has a little beeping alarm to signify end of cooking time, which by the way can be adjusted down to the 10ns of seconds (i.e. 3min20sec) and toasting heat is indexed to 6 time increments - certainly enough for most home users. Perhaps the only real caveat is the inability to adjust the cooking time downward, only upward - i.e. if the bake time was set at 30 min and you need 15, you'd have to cycle upward to I think 90 or more before it goes back to 1. A downward adjustment's impossible. Another thing is it doesn't have a clock, but that's not what a toaster oven's for. 5 years warranty is standard and with Sears all around it should be a breeze should something come up (hopefully.)

Overall, a very good unit, especially if you get it for under a c-note (when it's on sale). It does what a toaster oven's supposed to do better than the average unit. Recommended, when on sale.

Kenmore Elite Infrared Convection Toaster Oven, will return ASAP
I thought I finally found a decent toaster oven, and this one almost made it, but 1 flaw really turned me off. When you set the oven to bake, it's default is 350 degrees, and the timer defaults to 30 minutes Most of the things my kids cook take 10-12 minutes at most. You might think that you could simply turn the timer down, quick & easy. You would be WRONG !!! For some unknown reason, the digital timer ONLY GOES UP (and VERY SLOWLY at that). So, if you want LESS than the default 30 minutes, you have to hold the up button until it goes past 99. After it passes 99 it starts over at 1 minute and you can finally set it the right amount This might not be SO bad IF the numbers flew by quickly, but they DON'T. They go by VERY slowly. Why on earth did they not make the timer adjustable up AND down, OR, why couldn't they have the default at 1 minute, so you could get it to where you want quickly. You could just leave it at 30 minutes and time it with your watch, rather than holding the "up" button forever to get the numbers to come around, but one of the features I liked was it HAD a timer, with a loud beep, and it shuts off when it goes to zero. So if I get distracted, which happens with kids around, my food doesn't get burned. The other thing I didn't like was the top is not flat. Not a huge deal. It also has a blue LED that's as bright as the sun, but that's no big deal either. It takes 4:20 seconds (default time) to make medium brown toast. That is a long time. My regular toaster takes 2 minutes flat. If the above things won't bother you, I'm sure you'll love this product. A slightly better design would have made this a keeper (for me) PS: Mine came with some glue on the top. I used a wet face cloth and scrubbed it off. I should have left the glue. Where I cleaned it is now dull looking and an eyesore. I guess that would bother me if I was keeping it, but it also came with a dent on the top and is being returned due to bad design anyway. Just be REAL careful when cleaning it. I had such high hopes. I'm really bummed out.

Good Value

Yes, the timer is quirky, but this is a great toaster oven. I use the 30 minute default for baking (unless I need something to cook longer) and set the timer on my microwave. Problem solved! Infrared ovens do tend to run hotter and you can burn things if you are not careful, so be mindful of that and if you don't like the blue light, turn if off when you are done using it :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore elite toaster oven bakes , toasts to perfection

Kenmore elite toaster oven ( with pizza stone) bakes delicious pizzas The design is very modern works perfectly in my stainless Kenmore Elite kitchen. Temp. Controls are very accurate and easy to adjust. I would change just one feature --- Have a back light behind the push button controls. In a dark room difficult to read.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Toaster oven with pizza stone

The pizza stone is 12.75 inches and not 12 inches so it does not fit into the oven.  Just figured future buyers should know.

The Kenmore infrared convection toaster oven works great

I was looking for a toaster oven that had the convection and the infrared features and this unit has both. The first item I cooked was a frozen pork chop and it was delicious. It took less than 15 minutes and the meat was very moist and tasty. I like the uniform way it cooks and how quickly it does its job. I think I will be very happy with my selection. The only thing that is odd is that the timer is defaulted at 30 minutes, and you have to turn it all the way to 99 before it you can get to the lower numbers.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not what it seems.

Pros: 1. I was impressed with how fast this unit cooks food. 2. The fan is very quiet. Cons: Even though it has an annoying blue light, this was the least of the faults of this unit. 1. The cord is VERY short. 2. The toast feature has 6 settings, but it jumps from barely heated up to medium brown with nothing inbetween. 3. Everything will burn if not cooked at a lower temperature than in a regular oven. 4. The timer only goes up and not down. 5.The worst fault of this unit is that the door does not open all the way. You scrape much of the element cover and bottom removing the crumb tray for ceaning, and I often burn my hands getting food in and out of the unit as the door is at an angle when fully open. If given another chance, I would not have bought it.

Kenmore Elite Infrared Convection Toaster Oven is Too noisy

I bought this when it was on sale right before Christmas for $99. It was a good size, the door opens very smoothly, and it had a nice wipe down digital control panel. But when we plugged it in and tried it, it was the most noisy toaster oven I have ever seen. This due in combination to the loud fan for the convection feature, and also due to the fan causing rattling of the metal guards in the oven that protect the heating elements. Needless to say I returned it. I got the Cuisinart one also at Sears, which has the capability to turn the convection fan on or off. The fan on the Cuisinart is very quiet you can barely hear it. The Cuisinart doesn't have the digital controls, but is much simpler to use with the dial controls anyway.
