Nice features with some caveats

I think the unit itself is very nice and was very easy to install. There are a couple caveats:

1.) The water filter features appears to just be activated charcol mixed in with the resin. This doesn't seem to justify the extra cost from the next model down the kenmore softener line.

2.) The information LCD has an always-on backlight with no apparent way to turn it off.

3.) The salt level must be manually set but it is a very easy process

Very disappointing
After only a few weeks of operation the unit started displaying an error message. I reboot the power, wait 20 minutes, "Errorl" again. $800 gone and no soft water.

Great H20

We haven't had this very long but can definitely tell a difference in our H20. Our H20 tastes much better! We are able to drink out of the faucet instead of wasting money on bottled H20. The product is a good price for the combo of water softner & filtration system. If you bought them seperately it would be much more. It was a little harder to hook up than what the sales associate said so we did end up paying for installation.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome water softener

Have had this water softener for about 2 weeks and what a difference in the water. Dishes look 100 times better when they come out of the dishwasher my hair and my wife's hair feel much softer. We both grew up with hard water and were not used to soft water, and after this water softener we will never go back to hard water. It is so user friendly and it even has a light in it when you open the hood to add salt. Pretty easy to install my good friend is a plumber he helped but watched him and I think anyone could install it with some common sense.

Nice soft clean tasting water.

I bought this softner online and picked it up locally. The install was pretty easy. I install a 3 way valve system along with the included bypass that comes with the softner. I thought this was the best way to go so if I needed to take it out of service or move it to another location, it could be taken out by closing the the inlet and outlet valve and then opening the main line valve I installed. Some hints for anyone that is considering installing themselves but doesn't like to solder copper, I used all compression fittings and ball valves (sharkbite fittings). A couple of tees and flex lines that hook to the softner with 1" at the softner and 3/4" at by ball valve hook ups made a easy installation. Just make sure the one tee fitting in your main line is a sleeve tee so you can slide it back first and then install the other tee and your main shut off and then slide your sleeve tee back to join them. No soldering involved. Our city water was hard and the clorene taste was gone.

water softener

This water softener was supposed to work for "over 6 persons" to a house. The information never mentions how many square feet of house it softens. I have a 2200 s.f. house and there are only 2 of us and we have not had soft water since the day it was installed! I had a plumber come over and he told me that the unit is way too small for my house and that a softener of this size is made for a much smaller house. The carbon also onlylasts ONE YEAR and this was not explained to me . I am very unhappy and will not buy anything from Sears again.

Softner

Softner was just what we were looking for. Deliver and installation went as planned. Unit developed a problem with the first regeneration and was subquently determined to be defective. It was replaced promptly and is functioning as advertised. Store and installer exceeded our expectations in dealing with the defective unit.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Why did I wait !!

We are still, after 2 months, kicking ourselves for not having installed this filter/softener earlier in our lives! Wife and daughter LOVE it, because it makes their hair softer and easier to comb, etc. As for me, I have no issue with the "slick" feeling when I'm rinsing off in the shower. No more rusty looking toilets to contend with or clean once a week. Plus, our white clothes stay white, instead of turning brown, because of iron and minerals. I'd even recommend this to my worst enemy! Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. Professionally installed, because we wanted our outside water, both front and back, to be unfilterd.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Sleek Design works well

Florida water notoriously hard , noticable hard water residue on applainces and fixtures after ktichen and bath remodel. Since softner installed hard water stains and clogged fixutrres are no longetr a issue.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Amazing!

We purchased this due to multiple plumbing issues over the years and finally took the plumbers advice and made the investment. At this point we don't know if the softener will help with the copper pipes, but we have seen a difference in our clothes and dishes after being washed. Most of all, my hair is so much better after blowing it out. I don't know why, but it's noticably improved.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
