Kenmore Hybrid Water Softener Improves Taste, Smell, Feel
The Kenmore Elite hybrid water softener home filter provides premium protection for your family and gives you freedom from ever changing a filter again. Whether you're tired of over chlorinated city water or live in an area with a high mineral content, this system will let you enjoy crystal clear drinking water, dishes without spots and appliances with less build-up. The softener does wonders for people with sensitive skin, too. An extra layer of carbon works to filter out impurities that a softener alone misses.
The Kenmore hybrid water softener is easy to install with minimal plumbing skills. It's easy to maintain, too. Fill it with up to 200 pounds of salt and the softener will regenerate automatically. There's no filter to replace, eliminating a maintenance hassle.

So far this product has eliminated the hard water, the system that was in place before was about 20 years old so we have a lot of odor still lurking, we are hoping that given some more time that will be eliminated as well.

Living on a well and having a septic system, we needed a softener using potassium not salt and one with an adjustable recharge time. There are not many on the market, but thankfully Sears offered this model. Hybrid means the customer can use either type of pellets and recharge doesn't have to happen daily, like in lower end models. Although the initial directions didn't include a sketch of the front panel, the extended installation booklet from SEAS.com certainly provided a much clearer idea of how to program this flexible recharge time and switching from salt to potassium.
excellent drinking water, softener works great. All my friends are thrilled with my drinking water and taking a shower is like a luxury with the soft bottled quality water. I understand taking a shower with filtered water is healthier
This was a replacement for our old Kenmore water softener which had stopped working due to a cracked resin tank. I have limited plumbing skills but installed it myself in about 30 minutes, including removing the old softener (the water connections were identical to my old system). The water filtration system works extremely well - this is the first time we've drank water from the tap since we bought the house over 7 years ago. We have terribly hard water with a strong chlorine smell - with this softener, not only do we have soft water, but it tastes great and there are no longer any odors, chlorine or otherwise.

We are 3 months out of warranty and our water softener is leaking. We bought the most expensive water softner and are very dissapointed that I'm having to pay for repairs so soon. We will NOT be making any more purchases from Sears.

We installed this hybrid water softener about 6 weeks ago. The install was quite easy even if you're not good with plumbing and the results are fabulous. We're new to the San Antonio area and were not used to hard water or the heavy chlorine taste. Even with a 75 gallon water heater, it only took a few days to get soft water throughout the house and it tastes great. It did everything we wanted it to do and we'd definitely buy it again.

This hybrid water softener replaces our old unit that had worked for 16 years. The hybrid system is an update to the system. It circulated quickly through the entire house. So far, we are highly please
