Some excellent qualities and some annoying problems
It is beautiful to look at and relatively easy to clean although the heavy grates leave marks on the stove top and it scratches and stains surprisingly easily even with stainless steel cleaner and chamois cloth. The burners cook fast. The convection oven (my first) makes awesome chicken and turkey, but if you have problems bending over and lifting things out, maybe think twice. The problem with the top oven is that you can only cook things that are not tall- like a low casserole dish. The first time I cleaned the ovens, they didn't get clean, and the fumy smell was strong, but both those problems have gone away. Also the first time I used the lower oven, the flame didn't ignite and when I opened the door to check, big bang- but no damage done. Consequently, though I've never had the problem since, I'm reluctant to trust the "delay cook" feature! I've owned this for 9 months and I'm working hard to learn all the electronic controls- if you do, you'll be glad- it can do everything if you can figure out the programming. Overall, I really like this range. Perfect it isn't, but no appliance ever is and I'm still happy with the purchase.

Nothing Elite about it!
After a few baking failures we suspected it wasn't getting as hot as it should. We bought an oven thermometer and found that after preheating to 350 degrees, the oven was only at 250. We called for service - were told that the installers had to look at it first since it was new. They came out and said it was a tech problem. Tech came out and when we explained the problem, he told us that a regular oven thermometer wouldn't work because it is a digital oven (who knew that digital degrees were different?) He tested it with his digital tool and then confirmed we were correct. He had to call a help desk or something and finally decided we needed a new control unit and made an appointment with us to install it. The part arrived and a different tech came to install it. He also told us our oven thermometer wouldn't work - until he tested it himself. He left after installing the part - but after we tested it, we found that the oven was still not up to the temperature that was on the display. To make matters worse, both techs grabbed the oven door handle when pulling it out from the wall, which bent it slightly, loosening the glass. The first was able to fix it, the second when to his truck for 'special tape' to fix it which we refused. After a call to our salesperson (who was great) we were told we would get a new range. It arrived with some damage but the installer was excellent and took two part from the old range to repair the new one. Unfortunately - we still have a bakiing problem... when the preheating signal goes off - it is still nowhere near what the display says. Luckily, if we wait another 15-20 minutes - it gets up to the correct temperature. So we are living with it now. We would not buy this oven again if we were to do it all over again.

nice stove

works well and looks stunning. Tough to keep the top stainless and cast iron grates clean, but still worth it!

I was so excited at first!!

I waited and waited to find a gas range with the double oven that wasn't crazy crazy expensive. I should have waited a few months, as more came on the market. Let me start with the positives. I love the burners. I can boil a huge pasta pot of water in minutes. Love that I can use my rectangular griddle to make pancakes on the weekends. Cleaning the top is a nightmare, and the spot where the grate "feet" meets the stainless steel is all scratched. Not that big a deal, I guess, because when the grates are on the stove the scratches are covered. The negatives are awful. The oven has completely shut off five times since I've had this stove. Once on Thanksgiving, once on Christmas, and the rest of the times while baking cakes, so those had to be thrown out. When using the convection (lower oven) out of nowhere the thing shuts off. No warning, no chimes. You walk in your kitchen and notice the annoying blue light and timer are off, and you are looking at an oven that is off.

Not a 5

Love the five burners and double oven. Negatives - Stove top gets dirty easily. I cook every day and I've had problems keeping the stainless steel stove top clean and shiny without scratching it. Another major issue is that the gas knobs on the front of the range have no safety feature and have been turned on by accident. I've walked into my kitchen late at night to the strong smell of gas. It?s easy to brush up against the knobs when you walk by them or when you are cleaning the stove and accidently turning the gas on. This is a major issue!

Outstanding, versitile, easy to clean range

We have had the range for over a year. Love the five burners and the double oven. Oven cleaning feature is outstanding. The burners are different sizes for a reason. If you use them correctly they work great. Heat control great. Stainless Steel Top easy to clean. No scouring pads or powders. We wipe clean with soapy sponge and then shine with Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaning Pads. Would give this 4.75 stars if we could. We have held back the perfect score because we are not sure that the convection feature makes any difference. But more important is that the gas knobs on the front of the range have no safety feature from keeping them from being turned on by accident. If you brush up against the knobs just walking by, you could accidently turn them on. I have done that. We always check the stove before we leave the house just to make sure that has not happened. Should have at least a push to turn feature on the knobs. Even with the safety issue, we really love the range.

Beautiful and works fine

Great range; we like the look and functionality as it has all the key features of top of the line model. Our first use of the oven should be more careful since we burn the food using the broiler - caution: need to watch it carefully because the broiler is too close to the food tray in the upper oven. Other than that, all 5 burners work great and no complain.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore Elite 30"

i am impressed with the my new elite gas range and am happy with it, but still learning everything all the (technology) necessary components of the range...one thing i would change is the metal cover over each burner, they seem to come off frequently when i clean the stove top...

I would recommend this product to a friend.
