Was working fine and then all of a sudden starting producing a really strong electrical burning smell. Tech used the "smart connect" technology and claims the load (which was actually unusually small for us) was too heavy and that "burned out the motor."
This arrived today and I was so excited, however it will not fit through my standard 29" door. It is just wider than the door frame. We had to remove the door frame to get it in. I bought it to replace a 29" washer so you would think it would fit but you really need a 30" doorway. THe door is NOT reversible. I have now had these (matching washer and dryer) for 2 weeks and I absolutely love them. The super capacity size allows me to do double what I could in my top loading large capacity machine which is a huge time saver. I love the many cycle options, especially the Kids Wear cycle which seems to be getting my kids clothes cleaner. It is the perfect machine for a busy family. This machine is quiet, except for when the water is filling. When the water shuts on and off there is a loud clang which I can hear throughout my entire house. This machine uses so much less water than a standard top loading machine and I have already noticed the savings on detergent.
We just replaced our 8 yr old Kenmore Elite HE3T machine with this new 5.2 cu ft. washer. Old machine still ran fine and never had a bit of trouble with it, but time to upgrade to new. Sold the old one to a friend. This new machine is awesome! It washes huge loads that come out nice and clean. It washes clothes cleaner, faster, spins them dryer, and does this all more quieter than the old he3t machine. This new machine is direct drive and can really handle big (or small) loads nicely. If you have the room for this big machine, you will love it. Be sure to have sears install it because its pretty big to handle. I waited for a big year end sale and got a really good deal. About 43% off list if you put it on sears card. Sears card has a high interest rate, so best to pay it off or do a balance transfer from a lower rate card later. You also have 14 days from date of purchase to get a adjustment if the machine goes on sale for a better price. I did this and they were happy to make the adjustment. Be sure to use a sears reward card for extra points that you can use to get free stuff sold at sears. Do not buy the warranty. It comes with a one year warranty so if you buy the 4 year warranty you really only get 3 years out of it. You can always add a sears warranty later.
I bought this washer to do my king sized comforters. There must be something wrong with it because nobody else made comments about wet clothes. I have had it less than a month and the clothes do not spin as dry as my whirlpool did. Today the clothes were sopping wet and there water in the drum. I opened the drain and a lot of water came out, the drum was clean and not clogged. It is also very loud when the water fills it sounds like some is hitting the pipes.

I loved the large capacity, the whitest whites, express setting, (the settings that included things I thought I never would use). But then tonight, the cleaning service had put the drainer in the drain tub in a fill mode and the expelled water from the machine filled the draining tub but then stopped before overflowing...... could this be? If this is a feature of the machine I never knew, I love it even more......
I've had the washer less than a week and am pleased with it. Read the instruction booklet on how to load it and instructions on HE detergent. Follow the directions and use common sense. It holds a lot of clothes -- I dry them in 2 -3 batches. There are a number of cycles for a super quick wash cycle to a very long sanitizing wash cycle. My favorite features are the various cycles and the extra options, especially the extra rinse feature. I'm very pleased with the large loads that it will hold. I purposely filled one load with towels and filled another with blankets. Both loads stopped and gave an error code on day 4 that the loads were unbalanced. Restarted machine and got the error code again. Then, took a few items out of each load, and it ran great! It holds a lot, but you have to use some common sense and not fill washer to the brim, especially with heavy items (like my towels and blankets!). These were huge loads, so I was at fault for overloading it (but I did want to see how much I would be able to wash) If you overload it, the clothes may be quite wet if you have to remove any. This is not a problem with the washing machine, I simply overloaded it I agree that some settings, such as steam, can take a long time. That's to be expected when you have an appliance perform an additional task, such as steaming the clothes. There are still the options for shorter cycles. Don't choose steam if you don't have time for it. My last Kenmore HE3 lasted just over 7 years with no issues other than the warm rinse stopped working on some cycles just after warranty expired. The old washer probably would have lasted longer than 7 years if the repairman had known more than to just read an error code and start replacing parts - one part at the time!
Excellent set, very easy to use, door can latch to leave it cracked open to air dry, incredible capacity, quiet. Clothes smell clean vs. those newer top loaders without agitators. Pedestals a must! Very large set-measure your area to ensure fit. Manf. By lg under the kenmore Brand. Overall, we love this set after hours of research and multiple store visits
Replaced our Kenmore Elite front loader that lasted ten years with this unit, have had about 8 months and it has worked well, the front gasket is not prone to filling up with debris as the previous one did, spins clothes very dry. Front **** sticks out more than it should but controls are otherwise excellent, you can pick exactly the wash cycle you want and save it as a custom setting which is a plus. Quiet and smooth. Very large capacity. Sturdy door. Front access panel is a plus for the coin trap. Hope it lasts more than ten years!
