FIve year user! Execellent Purchase!
First, I am a custom home builder. I bought the first version of this stove when I remodeled my own kitchen five years ago. The house resold a few months later, and one of the reasons the lady said she bought the house, was for the stove size and style; she entertained a lot. This stove catches everyone's attention as soon as they enter the kitchen, like a great piece of furniture would. So, I bought another stove two years ago for my newest home. On the list of things my clients liked the most have been the jetted tub, high ceilings, and the stainless steel appliances...esp. the 40" range. From a POV other than house resale value, I have also used this stove for over five years now. I love the convection oven. Bakes perfectly. BE SURE AND LEVEL IT; for bread and cake purposes. If sitting on wood floor, don't run wood under the stove or it sits too high above surrounding countertops. The drawer still slides open over 3/4" thick wood. I love the eight burners. The bridge burner is great as well. Glass top is easy to clean with razor blade and the polish that comes with the stove. Timer is LOUD and can be heard from garage or even deck area. Has three adjustable racks in main oven. But small oven only has one. The small oven IS TOO small for most household size pans, and custom pans are usually needed. But, if cooking for one or two people, this smaller oven is quite the energy efficient oven. It is great for baking bread or even small casselroles or keeping bread warm for last minute service. This smaller over NEEDS a SECOND rack however...HINT* HINT* TO SEARS! Self cleaning oven works really well, and bottom drawer is huge! Holds large roasters, cookie sheets galore, and even crock pots! Design is beautiful, easy to keep clean, and easy to use for my teens as well. I got the full glass top surface, and I love how it serves as extra counter space during large cookouts or dinnertime. Can't tell you how much I love the fact that keeping a large number of pans warm, while having room for other peoples additions on top the stove is. Holds up to ten PANS on the holidays! THis keeps countertops safe from hot pans and keeps the food warm for buffet style service. The smell when first turned on is high in chemical smell for the first month of use. But food does not taste of the smell and this burns off quickly. Well worth the wait!

Hard to clean
I bought this to fit where a 1960 40in stove was, as I didn't want to buy all new cabinets. I had read the reviews about small oven, only 1 rack, top scratched easily, etc. but figured I could live with that. I have had it for 4 months. Was suprised at how difficult it is to clean glass cook top.I had to buy the stainless steel cleaner to get the finger prints off, difficult to remove. However there is one feature that the others have not commented on. Be careful not to spill something on the top that goes over the front edge. It can leak on to the top of the oven door. There are vent holes there that go BEHIND the glass. You can not get in to clean and it looks terrible. This happen at a party and I didn't find out until everyone went home. I will probably have to call a repair man and have the door taken apart to get at it. WHAT A POOR DESIGN! If I had to do over, I would not buy this stove.

Will it last?

Just purchased this unit to replace on that was 6 years and 2 months old. The prior one is a boat anchor with some parts that might help me keep the new one running. The timer relay board failed on the last one and there are none in the free world. No one can fix it, just in time for Christmas. Sears first offered me a 10% coupon on the first $1000 of a replacement ($100) and after several calls, then blue ribbon support upped the offer to $200. However I couldn't use it at the outlet and still get the 5% sears card discount. The stainless scratches easily and the cook top is not very durable. However it is one of the only items that is 40 inches wide to fit our custom cabinets so what can we do.

Fits perfect

I love the look of this range. It replace the old one that had the griddle in the middle. I read the reviews from others but I was still shocked by how cheaply made the bottom drawer, the back control panel and the side oven door was. The side oven door doesn't seem to close correctly, doesn't line up with the other oven as shown in the picture. However, it does shut better than the other, closure piece instead of magnet as with the other one. I love the burner selection on top!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

40" ELEC. RANGE

Nice looking design, but poor quality fit when assembled. Small oven door is warped and gaps open almost a 1/4" - this isn't acceptable for cooking. Who can fix this? Cook top and right side panel don't align, side panel extends past the cooktop about 1/8" at the rear of the stove. Something isn't square.

Very Pleased!

We purchased this to replace a GE branded older version of this same range style. We have been very pleased with all of the features and appearance. The ceramic cooking surface is exceptional and about as close to cooking with gas as possible. Only criticsim is that the stainless trim around the cooking surface is very easy to scratch, especially across the front. We solved this by using a Nashua brand transparent duct tape and place a strip on the front. It does a great job of protecting the stainless and because it is duct tape it is heat resistant.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This range is big and beautiful , easy to clean and maintain

I love this range, it's the center piece in my kitchen. It cooks faster than other electric ranges, it's easy to programed; the side small oven is a plus because I used almost every day an I don't need to use the big oven and it help to lower the electric consumption of energy. The ceramic glass cooktop is easy to maintain; the big oven have the option of convection bake that help save time and energy specially when you have multiple rack baking; This is also a self-cleaning oven.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

keeps getting better!

This is the third stove I've had since we built our house in 1990. The earliest model had a griddle in the center (regular burners), the second had no griddle, and this one is by FAR the best. I can't begin to tell you how much I LOVE some of the new features on this one. The convection mode, the three racks as opposed to two. The cooktop with the five burners, and the burners with the bridge, and the ones that you can use for a small or large pot. This stove was CLEARLY designed by someone who cooks!! My only complaint is that the smaller oven is only large enough for a small casserole dish, or a loaf pan, but that is minor. I do love this range!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
