Kenmore Elite 40" Dual-Fuel Range - Accurate, Flexible Cooking

The extra-wide Kenmore Elite dual-fuel range 7560 with regular and convection ovens is the ultimate in flexibility and precision. The 14,200- and 12,000-BTU gas burners provide high heat for searing and boiling, while the simmer burner maintains a steady 5,000 BTUs for delicate tasks like melting caramel and chocolate. Two standard 9,500-BTU burners round out your culinary versatility to give you enough cooking area for even the biggest and hungriest of families. Dual ovens offer more space for preparing large meals, and the Easy Set electronic controls ensure you get the perfect temperatures every time.

  • Designed to kick out serious heat, the Power Burner funnels 14,200 BTUs of flame power to your cooking surface, so steaks sear, eggs scramble and water boils quickly.
  • Designed to power you through dishes large and small, 9,500 BTU burners deliver heat for a wide range of cooking options, so you can simmer, sear, warm and boil all in one spot.
  • The 5,000 BTU Simmer Burner was designed to deliver reliable warming and ultra-low simmering with a consistent, precise flame, cutting down on scorched sauces and dried out dishes.
  • By combining the instant heat of gas burners with the cooking accuracy of an electric oven, Dual Fuel ovens deliver added flexibility for frying, searing and baking to perfection.
  • Easy Set™ electronic oven controls automate temperature, timer and other features so you can bake a pie, roast beef or cook a casserole with just the touch of a finger.
  • The delay cooking option uses a timer to start the oven on your schedule, so you can load it up with an entree before heading out, and come home to a piping hot meal.
  • Durable and sleek, the ceramic glass cooktop adds a modern look to the kitchen while cleaning spills easily, fending off scrapes and avoiding damage from dropped utensils.
  • The Self-cleaning function conveniently cleans the oven's interior using high temperatures to burn spills, soil and soot away without a bit of scrubbing.

Best Buy for the Money in a Dual Fuel
I did a lot of research before I bought this range 3 years ago. I knew I wanted dual fuel (I bake a lot, so I wanted electric ovens), five or six burners and, if possible, two ovens. I had struggled with eye-level ovens in the past, so decided I'd go "wide" rather than have two stacked wall ovens. It was on sale for $1999 and I snatched it up. I splurged and bought a second rack for the small oven (maybe $12?) and a 42" SS hood (a Broan Allure). The range and the hood are a great combo and look great together! The slightly-longer hood (2") is undetectable. I couldn't be happier with the range. The continuous burners make moving pots a breeze, and the glass top is pretty easy to clean. I use some Bar Keeper's Friend on stubborn stains, then spray some glass cleaner and wipe it up with a paper towel. It shines with no streaks. The larger oven is fantastic--bakes evenly and at precise temps. I bake bread, so having consistent temps is very important. The convection feature is great for the bread, roasts, oven-browns, etc. I use the regular bake feature for braising stews and pot roasts. As for the small oven--I bought a set of toaster-oven cookware when I bought the range. Check out Mirro--they make a line of small pans and roasters. Also, Pyrex makes a 71/2" wide glass pan that fits perfectly. The oven is great for re-warming bread or baking a small side casserole when the larger oven is in use. The versatility of having two ovens can't be beat. To be honest, I would prefer the control knobs be on the front of the range rather than on top, but it's no big deal. I use the timer constantly--bit of a pain since it's slow to crank up, but it works. The two front high-BTU burners are the workhorses for me, and I like the fact that can use large pots and pans without any difficulty. I use stainless steel, aluminum, copper, cast iron, and porcelain-clad cookware, and have never had a problem with tilting on the grates. I just used the self-cleaning feature on the large oven today--came out like new. The small oven presents more of a challenge because of its size and the fact that you need to clean it manually, but it never gets too bad anyway. Once a year is good for that, so no complaints on the cleaning. Speaking of cleaning, how about the fact that you can put the grates, the knobs, and the gas burner lids right in the DW? I do it like every two weeks--they come out great. To sum up, I would buy this range again without hesitation. For the money, you can't beat it--its one of those "duh, why didn't I do this years ago?" things considering how much I like to cook. Add to it the compliments from everybody who sees it and friends who insist on "shaking at the stove" when they come for dinner, and you have just about the best major cooking appliance ever in the price range.

Wouldn't buy again
Like a few of the other reviewers - I find this range to be attractive (stainless), but it is not as efficient as I hoped. I can't really cook 5 things simultaneously on the 5 top. Although there are five burners, five pans don't fit on the raised surface at one time. The small oven is useless, unless you have small pans (and many of the small pans you can find in the store are still to large). Additionally, there is only one rack for this oven. Worst of all, after a few years, the oven started giving me ERRORS. Research indicated the computer board is poorly designed: when it gets overheated, it generates ERRORS. You would think the board would be designed to hold -up to heat or be placed away from the cooktop heat. (The computer board is above the cooktop, directly behind the clock/controls). Now the board has gone out completely. Like others, I expected to get 8-10 years out of my ovens - not five. In about $600, I'll be able to get my oven working again.

I'm buying this one again......

I could scrape together the money to buy the crazy expensive stoves and cut another expense somewhere like cabinets but it's stupid when you can buy this monster at 1/4 the price. It's an odd width (40") so make sure it fits but it's everything a great stove should be including the price. I love the small oven on the left and have found skinny pans to fit but I agree with the other owner who said she wants a second rack in the small oven. It should be a feature of the oven not an option. Sears step up. The really serious suggestion I will make is please place the knobs on the front to make room for larger racks. You're wasting precious burner real estate. We are building again and I will use the same stove in the next house. This will be my third. Love this stove.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

LOVE THIS STOVE

I bought this stove in 2007 with the protection plan (which I haven't needed). The smaller oven is great for potatoes and any side dishes. Small burner on top is great for sauces (it has a low simmer temp as well as high flame). The electric convection oven is amazing for large turkeys and roasts. I can't say enough good things about this well conceived stove. I once heard Julia Childs and Jacques Pepin mention the best combination for a stove is "gas burners with an electric convection oven". Great price for a great product. My only complaint: no "beep" when the oven reaches a desired temp; you must pay attention to the display (usually reached 350 degrees within 10 minutes).

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Looks good; BUT!

I purchased this item last year and it performs great. However, the control panel bubbles up if you use the rear burners. This is due to the type of plastic used on the touch pad. Sears replaced this once but it happened again and lucky I bought the protection plan. What happens the protection plan runs out???? Also, the type of stainless steel used must have been poor quality as there are signs of rust.

Not what I expected !

I purchased the 40" Duel Fuel oven in 2007. The five stove top burners are very close together so you can not really cook five things simultaneously. Also the burner covers are difficult to keep looking nice. they don't clean easily. The smaller oven is so small/narrow it is hard to find cookware that fits through the opening, but is great to cook potatoes. My biggest concern or angst is that I paid more to have a nicer range but it hasn't been dependable. I just had to replace the computer board at the cost of $500.00. You can only use a certified Kenmore repair man to get the parts. I would think that this range would last more than 5 years before a major part like this goes out. this has been very upsetting to me..especially since this it went out the week before Thanksgiving and they won't get the part for over a 10 days! I don't recommend you buy this range!!! Look around I'm sure you can find a more dependable one!

Love my oven

I have had this oven for ten years and have never ever had a problem. We are considering purchasing another one for our second home. I do wish I could get a second rack for the small oven and if that oven were two inches wider (42 inches overall) it would make a huge difference with what you could put in it when you need over flow space. If you could put a 9X13 inch casserole dish in the small oven while you finish roasting a turkey in the large oven it would be ideal. I am going to check with Kenmore to see if it is ever possible to order a second small oven rack. Other than that, it has been a great oven with no service calls.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

huge fan, until ... (design flaw!)

I bought this stove three years ago because I used to have one and loved it. My brother also bought the same stove 10 years ago and still loves his. When it works, this is a fantastic appliance. Unfortunately a very bad design flaw means that a simple repair to replace the ignition module cannot be made without breaking the 5 sealed burners. The screws going threw the burners to hold the top in place become fused by the heat. So you must drill out the screws and replace all burners to make the repair. Repair estimate is $1400+ (from the Sears technician) !!! :-(

Most excellent

After reading previous reviews I was nervous about purchasing. However my kitchen remodel included a 1959 40 inch ge stove that finally gave up the ghost. My options for replacement were limited and I did not want to spend thousands. I have had and loved this stove for over a yr and have not experienced any of the problems other purchasers cited. It is absolutely wonderful. Have used self clean cycle several times and it works perfectly. No faulty parts, cleaning is not difficult and actual use is easy and quick. Love my stove

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nice larger range

Everything I saw that I liked was 30" and I knew I wanted bigger for my kitchen remodel. The 48" ranges were way too expensive so this is a great compromise and a great price. I like the dual fuel and the convection. The five burner top is useful and the power burners boil water in no time. I like the small side oven for warming bread or baking in smaller pans without having to power up,the larger side. I do wish it came with more than one rack though. The larger oven has three racks which is great and the wok stand and grill are great extras

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love my new range.....except slick painted grates. Shld be cast iron.

We have a 40"opening in our cabinets from long ago and this was the only range we were able to locate in 40" Gas. I love everything about it except - Since the sample range is not on the showroom floor here in Louisville, I had to purchase sight unseen. Love it except for the burner grates. Have no idea why they have the slippery, granite coating on the cast iron. My skillets and pots literally slide across the grates and have to be really careful to get firm grip on pot before turning or stirring food. If replacement grates without coating were available I would certainly order replacements.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

LOVE this range!

This range is FANTASTIC. The electric oven is spot-on, having two ovens means I can cook for large groups, and the gas range makes cooking dinner for the family a breeze. The multiple baking options are fantastic too. I wish I had purchased this sooner! I would recommend this to anyone who has the space and wants a free-standing range.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
