Kenmore — trusted in the homes of more than 100 million Americans
The high-efficiency Kenmore Elite 31513 top-load washer with ultra-large capacity features Smart Motion™ Technology, which uses 6 different, precise wash motions, so every fabric—from the most rugged to the most delicate—gets just the right amount of swishing, swirling and stirring.
The Delay Wash on the metallic silver Kenmore Elite 3151 washer lets you set a time for the wash cycle to start, up to 19 hours later, so you can fill the washer before bed and have the load finish when you get up the next morning. And with the push of a button, this innovative washing machine uses the Kenmore Connect™ System to send diagnostic data from the appliance directly to the Kenmore tech team over the phone, so the team can begin troubleshooting and determine is a service call is needed.
- The ultra-large 4.7 cubic foot stainless steel basket accommodates bulky items like pillows and comforters, as well as 46 extra-large T-shirts in a single load
- Innovative wash plate with SmartMotion™ Technology lifts and circulates clothes through a concentrated mixture of detergent and water for outstanding cleaning
- The ENERGY STAR® qualified, CEE Tier III rated washer uses 60% water and 50% energy compared to a standard top-load washer manufactured before 2004, using the Normal cycle

First time I have had to give a bad review. This unit is horrible. The washer is loud. The washer does not clean well at all. I would not recommend this washer. Returned this unit for another.
Bought HE Sears Kenmore elite one year ago; terrible efficiency. It states it weighs clothes to determine how much water to deliver. Placed towels and sheets and it didn't even cover the items. Have to go back and pause and enter "add more water" feature. I find this with most all settings; need to go back and pause and "add more water." Should have bought a basic wash machine that has a high and low setting. Much easier. Will never buy this type of machine again.

I have had this washer for 2 months and I hate it! It doesn't get my families clothes clean at all. My husband and son both work on cars and I often have to run their clothing twice to get them clean. I use the extra rinse most of the time to because the clothes don't feel as if all the soap is rinsed out and I am careful about the amount and type of laundry soap I use. As for washing heavy bedding- that is a pain because the washer usually gets unbalanced and then it takes forever to balance itself- if it does balance itself-usually I have rearrange everything myself. I really really wish I had never bought this. Now I am stuck with it for quiet a few years to come.
I read all the reviews about this washer. I also read the manual AND watched some YouTube videos to learn more about how to use HE washers. I love my machine. Clothes are cleaner and I don't have any of the problems others have reported. I think if you learn about the machine and how it works you will love it too. I purchased the protection plan which includes an annual "check-up" to make sure everything works well. Worth the price should repairs be needed as they will cost more due to the electronics.

I bought this washer 2 years ago and initially thought it was great. Then I started noticing the UE more frequently. This was supposedly fixed when the technician came for the recall for the danger of unbalanced loads. Now, I am getting the UE with most loads in the machine. I have to babysit the washing machine as another rater stated and readjust after each cycle. This is rediculous. I will be replacing this machine real soon and I don't think I am going for a kenmore this time and I have been a die hard kenmore buyer since I was a young adult.

This washer is everything every bad review says. I tried to go off of the few good reviews and that was the worst decision ever! I bought the machine in white to replace a front load washer that had a bad circuit board. It is very rare the washer will go through a full cycle without going uneven. It takes way longer than my previous front load washer, it uses a ton more water, it doesn't wash the clothes very well, it leaves powder detergent (which Sears recommended I use) on clothes, it says it's complete but it's still completely full of water. When I washed things with my animals' fur on them, the animal fur was still all over those items when the wash cycle was complete (after way more than an hour). I can not tell you one good thing about this washer so my advice is buy a front load. After 20 days of misery I exchanged this washer for a front load washer and I can't wait until it's delivered next week.

This is a great machine, manufactured by LG. We have had this unit for over six months and are very happy with it. My wife loves this washer. She can wash more clothes in one load than our dryer can handle (time for a new dryer?)! And, there is quite a variety of settings to chose from. We have had fewer balance issues with this machine than we had with any of our previous conventional machines. We can wash our heavy cotton comforter with no issues at all, if we spin it on low. The clothes also dry quicker, as there is less water left in the clothes after the rinse cycle. The complaints about this machine, I feel, are due to people not understanding how to use a high-efficiency machine and not knowing these machine are different enough from a conventional machine that one needs to read the instructions. These units use less water and A LOT LESS soap. But, they really do clean better than conventional machines. The clothes are brighter, too, due to less soap and residue. Fortunately, our salesman took the time to fully explain the use of less water, and corresponding need for less soap, while we were shopping for a machine. Otherwise, we would have been upset and up to our armpits in bubbles, too...
I cannot run small loads or the UE will appear. I am a very busy person and do not have time to sit and watch the washer for UE indicators. My clothes come out very wrinkled, so I shake them before I put them in the matching horrible Kenmore dryer that also leaves clothes wrinkled. The set is only 3 years old and still has a lot of life left in it unfortunately. Worst washer EVER!
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing such a huge machine with a review less than a 5, however, I did my homework and am so glad I purchased this machine. Hubby wanted front load. I wanted top load. I win and what a win. This machine is quiet, strong, and ready to take on the largest and dirtiest loads. I had about 3 weeks of laundry (2 adults and 2 teens) to get caught up on and in 8 loads (due to the size of the load) I am done and all in one day!!!! Clothes are fresh and stains are gone! The machine has many settings and I would insist that you read the manual prior to washing anything. From this, I was able to best use the machine to meet my demanding needs. 2 things I would suggest - when removing the clothes from the washer, give them a slight shake prior to putting them into the dryer. This allows the dryer to be more efficient AND be prepared to have a larger dryer. The standard sized dryer cannot keep up. If you have the standard sized dryer, the 1 load in this machine will have to be dried in 2 loads. And finally, I love that the machine is proactive. If your load is unbalanced, the machine stops! If the drain is plugged up, the machine stops. My previous front loader just barreled through unbalanced loads causing the thing to literally shake itself apart thus leading to an early demise. Good luck on your search for a new machine, I would highly recommend this one to anyone!!!
I bought the new machine on Dec 3,2013. Ran a small load and it did not finish UE. Went on Holiday and came back to run a weeks worth of holiday travel clothes. Did not complete cycle UE. Adjusted the small load about ten times, Still no luck. Called for help. No luck. Clothes still need to be hand wrung out. Repair man to come Jan 9. If no problem can be found with the machine, it must be the way I am loading the clothes. That will cost me $78 for service call. Never had to worry about loading any other machine. No washer machine for over a month. Do not waste your money. I will return the machine if possible.Going to find an old used washer from the Salvation Army or Good Will that will work better and last longer and be much cheaper.
