I am very pleased with this product. It toasts the bread evenly and completely, no untoasted edges or burned toast. The controls are user friendly and easy to adjust. The electrical cord is of sufficient length and has a three pronged, grounded, plug. The crumb trays are conveniently accessible and easy to remove, clean and replace. Bagels and english-muffins toast perfectly in the middle and warm nicely on the outside. There is even a defrost feature. On a scale of 1-10 this toaster gets a solid 9.
The toaster works great except that it's quite annoying that it beeps everytime it's plugged in. And when the toast is ready there are 3-4 long loud annoying beeps.........why?

I liked the toaster, it looked good and functioned properly the first few uses, but then the right side would not automatically shut off after the toast cycle. We didn't catch it until smoke was filling the kitchen from the burnt toast. We returned it and went with a different brand. For the money, I expected better quality.
This is a great toaster. Only thing it didn't do compared to others in review I found rating top 10 toasters of 2012 was lift the toast up to visually see how done it is without stopping the toasting process. Really, I don't see the need for this. Got very high points in review for style (how it looks, brushed aluminum... very nice looking) and 5 year warranty. No other toaster had that. I can't believe the one person complained so much about the 5 beeps. I like knowing when it is done (5 beeps or 2...whatever) so I can hit the reheat if needed. Also why keep a toaster if not able to go above 5 or don't like the beeps when the 5 year Kenmore Elite warranty allows you to simply return to any Sears within 5 years for a new one, no questions asked. No other toaster had a 5 year warranty. The number one toaster allowed two eggs to cook on the side. Sounds like a mess to clean up to me. The bagel setting worked perfectly, only browned on side needed.
This toaster looks good and does an adequate job of toasting, but it has a couple of major design flaws: It emits a high pitched beep FIVE times when it is done. Really, five times, are you sure that's enough? It can't be turned off. It 'sticks' at setting 5, despite what the manual says. So if you find you want it on 7, you have to make that adjustment EVERY time you put toast in. The basic requirement for a toaster is that you can set it to how you want it and leave it. This is a very annoying fault in this design, so go and buy one with a dial setting. Oh, and ours didn't stay down on one side to start with, it seems OK now but I wish I'd taken it back straight away.

A clean, simple design. Functions well but annoyingly beeps 5 times when toast is ready. Maybe one beep would be okay - but 5? That's too much for me. Everything else is good, though.
