Great piece, looks great, functions great. This is our first island kitchen and it's taking a little getting used to. The control panel is sensitive but I guess it needs to be to work. You have to lock the panel. Otherwise it can get turned on, short women with large breasts will know what I mean. Again an impressive appliance.
So far I haven't had any problems. Just learning how to cook on the new range. Seems slower at the beginning but speeds up after the top gets hotter. I haven't been brave enough to use the convection oven yet. Cooks great as a regular oven. Had a lot of problems with installation, but we're past that now. Remember to measure - measure - measure.
We thought we were getting a top of the line produce from Kenmore. We purchased this Kenmore Elite 30" slide-in electric range for our new home a little over 1 year ago because I wanted a double oven. There were only 2 ranges that fit my specifications and we picked the Kenmore because we trusted the brand. I have been disappointed several times in its performance. Today it ruined my surprise cupcakes - a tried and true recipe - so I decided to finally write a review. I have 50 years of baking experience and have had several different ranges over that time. My chief complaint with this range is that the oven varies so much in temperature. After having it on today for over an hour with other baking, I put in the cupcakes and increased the temperature setting from 350 to 375. When you make a change like that the readout shows you what the current oven temperature is. The temperature was down to 295 degrees - and no, I did not have the over door open very long! This has happened several times. The big variation in temperature is not a big problem for things like casseroles (although they take longer), but it is a disaster for delicate things like cakes. I increased the oven temperature according to manual directions, but that is not the problem. The range cools well below the selected temperature before it starts heating again. I also noticed in the reviews someone discussing about the cooktop being hard to clean with any grease spattering. i do not fry very often, but I have also had problems with this. I had far less problems cleaning my 20 year-old Whirpool smooth top and it still looks better than my new Kenmore cooktop.

Replaced a high end GE. I love the fact that there are no KNOBS to clean around. Ovens work great once you get used to them. Remember, if you are coming from another brand, you have to adapt. Don't be stupid. Takes time to learn the idiosyncrasies of this model. My only gripe is that the boil time on all but the turbo boil burner is bit annoying. My GE boiled water much faster on all burners. Other than that, Great stove... Buy it if you want to shed your knobs!
I have really loved this stove, but am concerned. I scheduled a service appointment for tomorrow after having a error code come up on the display after just over a year of ownership. With the price tag on the stove you would think it would be 5-10 years before parts would start failing. Guess they just don't make them like they used to.

I bought this for my wife when the plastic oven handle broke off after running the cleaning cycle on our GE range. This not a cheap range - it was a top of the line convection. My wife does a lot of cooking - Sunday dinners, holidays, church functions, etc. She wanted a double oven and this seemed to be the best slide-in option available. It has true convection in both ovens (many others had true convection in only one), large oven cavities and sturdy metal handles. The ovens are the same size and my wife loves how evenly they cook. Though our decision was based on the ovens, she was thoroughly impressed with the stove top. She loves the turbo flex burner. She can boil water for tea in under 2 minutes! She loves this oven.

The Mrs. and I shopped many double ovens. Whether Maytag, Electrolux, GE, Whirlpool or Fridgedaire (Sears elite), all offered something. We loved the sliding shelves of the Electrolux, the dependable history of Whirlpool and the clean lines all slide-in ranges offer. We didn't have the room for a wall oven setup but wanted enough space to cook a med-large turkey with convection. I read many reviews about the Sears elite and concentrated on the negatives. From having a slide-in convection range before (Kitchenaid) I knew about cleaning the electronic controls. But overall, the glass top is easy to keep clean, as long as you keep it clean! With all these choices, we ended up, even with some neg reviews, chose the Fridgedaire (Sears elite). Now, having the unit almost a year, it's time to give my two cents. It has worked flawlessly. If you don't use the convection, there are hot spots in the ovens. So when baking, unless something like a meatloaf, we tend to just turn on the convection and have zero complaints. For the cooktop, the turbo boil element is wonderful and the layout for the burners is fine. The warmer zone burner is a nice touch that frees up spice for big meals. Overall, we liked the looks, the layout, the convection, the two equal sized ovens (with 3 racks each!) and the glass cooking surface. The only reason I gave this unit four stars was because you need to be careful how you clean the electronic controls. The go wild when you scrub then with liquid. I can't imaging that it would be good for the electronics to be turned on and off quickly. Even the delivery person, (who does swaps, returns, etc), said the only complaint has been the controls. Personally, I use windex on the panel, let it soak and wipe off with a clean towel. No erratic beeps. If you need to do a thorough cleaning, I'd recommend shutting off the oven breaker. The sales person was knowledgeable and helpful. We took advantage of the 5% discount with a Sears credit card which also gave me points to use for other Sears purchases. We also purchased the 5 year warranty because of some people's comments. Overall, we are quite pleased and happy with our decision. The unit sits next to a S/S Samsung 4-door refer and Kitchenaide D/W and looks fine. I hope you are as happy and have as good of luck as we have if you choose this unit.

Have had this stove for just over a year and the top oven is still not working. It is the one with oven light, so I tend to use this one if it was working. They have been in 5 times so far to repair and top oven is still not working yet. Customer service is just paying lip service since they never have the correct part in and it will take months to get the right part. On and on it goes and this will be my second Christmas with an oven that is not working. I am so disappointed with Sears. I was mistakenly under the impression that Sears was a good company to buy from. They are not. Stay away from Sears/Kenmore products.
I bought this stove and love the double oven. The true convection capabilities are very useful for the functions I need them for. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. It ceans easily with the ceramic cleaner Sears sells.
