Model 31062 30" Gas range: Best I've ever Owned!

Overall, we're VERY satisfied with the performance of this appliance, and I'm not prone to hyperbole! The burners are infinitely adjustable, and the gas oven bakes like a champ! I feel like a REAL chef, now.

Couple of caveats:

1.) Prior reviewer commented on push buttons being accidentally pressed - agree.

2.) This appliance replaced a Kenmore Elite Electric. The dimensions were wider, and required me to have a contractor come in and recut my granite countertop 3/4" wider. Check your opening!

3.) I went on "Onlne Chat" and the Cust. Service agent ASSURED me my current 220v electric hookup was the same as this unit used --- WRONG! This unit uses a 120v 3-prong wall plug. This little surprise cost me $125 to modify Electrician + Inspection) and a couple of days before I could hook it up. (C'mon SEARS ... you should know better!)

4.) The unit, with the leveling feet fully retracted, is still 1/2" taller than the previous Kenmore Elite electric, and I cannot get it low enough to fit flushly atop my granite countertop. Will have to fashion some way to trim out to keep food, etc from sliding under the topside. Might want to check the EXACT dimensions of your opening carefully to prepare for this.

5.) Griddle over bridge burner works great, but you have to wait til it cools to clean it, or lift it glowing hot in order to use the bridge burner for a second task.

Powerful burners

I have owned this range for over a year and wish I had picked a different model.  The touch buttons are very sensitive and I wouldn't recommend it to someone with small children.  The buttons would be very attractive with the beeping noise and since they are so sensitive it takes a very light touch to turn a feature on.  Of course, you have to press the start button but that wouldn't be difficult for a child.  My other BIG complaint is that the small burners will go out on their own when turned to the lowest setting so you really need to watch them when you just want to keep something warm.  I have also found that the enamel around the burners discolors even though I clean it after every use.

Overall
great stove

I have had this stove for about 8 months now and i have to say that I am happy with this purchase. It slide in just fine. The instruction manual aren't that great. (As far as how to used all the functions) I LOVE the meat probe! I like that the oven tells me what temperature it is currently at. (Very cool) Everything is cooked and baked evenly and accurate. The griddle is included I use it practically every day. I use the prof drawer offen when baking bread. My dislike about the stove is when set on high the flame burns the top of the touchscreen. This part is a thin white skinny plastic strip. Mine did burn. I dont know why they designed it to be plastic when it should be metal. A major design flaw. That's the only reason I didn't give this stove 5 stars.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

The Kenmore Elite Slide-In With Griddle

The griddle is what makes the stove special. Contrary to what is promised, the (3) 7000 BTU burners cannot be used as regular burners. The 9500 center burner is the only one with true functionality. If you do a lot of cooking this is not the stove for you.

Great item

Stove was everthing as described.

Conversion from natural ags to lp propane was simple. I converted and installed this item myself without any trouble. Worked great the first time we used it. Would highly recommend this.

Wife loves cooking again.

Thanks Kenmore

Overall
The Kenmore Elite Gas Range is awesome

I am really happy with my gas range. I love the bridge burner and the convection oven. Very easy to clean. The only negative is that the touch buttons are very sensitive when you are cleaning the area.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
