Perfect - Exactly what we were looking for!!!

Love it - love it - love it!! We needed to replace our 4-burner stove top which was embedded in a 30-inch cut-out in a Granite countertop. I wanted and needed more burners but did not want the hassle of cutting the Granite nor did I want to loose counter space to accomodate a 36-inch stove-top. I wanted a quick, EASY solution. This worked out PERFECT!!! My favorite part is the 5th burner in the middle - it boils a large pot of water quicker than I ever imagined! If you are in a situation like ours - this is a perfect quick-fix and to our surprise, a true upgrade. The entire stove-top (each and every burner) works and operates more superior than our previous Jenn-Aire did. I do not have a problem with space because if I am using all the burners - I just turn the handles to the outside. We just couldn't be happier.

Would have given it 4 stars . . . now I'm down to 2

My cooktop is under a year old; I take impeccable care of it.  I use it, of course, but keep it very clean and clean it quickly after use . . . . here's the problem . . . .

One of the grates came chipped.  You couldn't see the chip with the grates installed so I didn't worry about it.  That chip is now rusting as are a few other areas.  Now, I don't take the grates off and bang them around.  I simply take them off and clean them one at a time in my large single basin sink.

And the knobs . . . they're all cracking.  The surface of them is fine; not a scratch on them, but the layer underneath what looks like a clear coat is cracking.  Every single one of them.

I don't use my cooktop nearly as much as some of my friends and the $1000 unit is under a year old.  I've put in a warranty claim with Sears . . . let's see how this goes.

Very Happy - great cooktop

Very happy with this cooktop - it has been installed and in use for over 6 months and absolutely no problems. I love the 5 burners and I do not feel it is crowded. I also have not had any issues with the knobs - I was concerned about the placement and coming in contact with hot pans, this is not the case and has not been an issue. Knobs are also very durable.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Do not use Scratch sponges!!!

I read in the directions not to use a sponge that scratches, but my husband went behind my back and decided to clean the stove and now my brand new stove has scratches on it. Shouldn't stainless steel be stronger than this???

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great cooktop but the dimensions are off.

We love the new Kenmore cooktop, especially the variety of burners and particularly the dual ring burner. However the outside dimensions for the cooktop do not tell you that the left & right front edges taper away from the 21.75 inch; front to back dimension. This presented a problem for us since we were trying to cover an existing opening in a granite island. Needed to add a stainless surround to cover the opening.

The next best thing...

I couldn't take my Kenmore Pro 6 burner with me when I moved and I hated the builder grade 4 burner in the new house. This is the next best thing--5 burners, fit exactly in the existing slot with no cutting, and I get my power burner, double burner with simmer and knobs in the front. I just wish it was a little wider for large pots.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Grear cooktop

This is such a great cooktop. I love that it has 5 burners, it replace one that had 4. Easy to use, fires up very quickly. The grates are a little hard to clean though. Overall very pleased.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Saved the day as a replacement cooktop! Perfect fit in a tight opening.

In an effort to replace a 20+ year old cooktop which was installed in our Caesar Stone countertop I was shocked to find out how BIG all the new gas cooktops were. I looked at dozens of cooktops and this is the only one that would fit in my 26.5 x 18.5 inch opening! Depth was also an issue: 4.75 inches. Thankfully, this cooktop fit so snugly in my opening that we didn't even need to use the clamps that came with it. This saved us about $200 to have the stone guys come out and enlarge the opening....for which they wouldn't guarantee the results. The dimensions that are listed on the website are misleading and Kenmore should get more precise about this. Lucky thing is: I am enjoying this cooktop immensely! It is easy to clean and I love the level cooking surface to move pots around. Granted, you can't fit 5 large pots on it at the same time, so what? Plan ahead. A couple of the burners make a sputtering sound when set to medium, so I will call and request an adjustment.

Thrilled with the performance and appearance

My husband and daughter bought this for our kitchen renovation. I have to say that I've taught my 21-year-old well. She went "just the facts," and my husband managed to keep his irrational desire to buy fancy brand names in check. The cooktop works beautifully -- lots of power and good simmering capabilities, too. Very please, too, with Sears' money-saving, you-pick-it-up system. I pulled up, scanned my receipt and voila! less than 5 minutes later, my cooktop appeared and was loaded into my car.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Expected better product and service from Sears.

The knobs on the unit have cracked like shattered glass. They looked horrible within a year. The black covers over the eyes have tarnished and look like copper covering them now. The grates are heavy and very durable but scratch the stainless cover. The product will perform, it will just not look nice after several months and Sears claim this is all COSMETIC issues and would not cover their product even during the warranty period. Not a good product for a lot of money. Stay away...

Kenmore Elite 30 inch gas cooktop

My cooktop was installed Janualy 2012.  The middle burner is wonderful, as well as the simmer feature.  If you can install a larger cooktop, I would recommend doing so.  It might have 5 burners, but fitting 5 pans into the 30 inch space does not work well. The quality of the product is good and after 8 months of use, I am a satisfied customer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kenmore Elite Gas Cooktop #3235

I installed this stovetop 1 week ago. When you turn the knob to light it, it immediately is on the high setting and have to turn the knob all the way around to get to low. Not to bad. The problem I see is when you go to turn it off, you have to go through the "lite" part again. I am wondering, just how long the automatic "lite" is going to last before I have to replace it. The middle burner somehow gets stains under the burner caps on the metal part of the fixed burner head that you can see and I can't get it clean. I haven't even had a "boil-over" yet. Now, I feel like I have a dirty stovetop that folks will see. I thought the stainless steel would be great, however, it is hard to keep clean and you have to use special products. I do like the way it cooks the food in the pan at an even temperature all over the pan and not in one spot (usually the middle). FYI
