Silent, Stylish, and Spacious
This dishwasher exceeds my expectations. Last night I placed my entire crock pot into the upper shelf and was able to close it easily. Everything sparkles when it comes out. I am glad I paid a little extra for the 43 dba level of quietness. There is just one thing, though. I like all the digital lights on my appliances to be the same color and I like the Kenmore Elite "pleasing blue"; however, when the dishwasher finishes its cycle, the display goes to "garish green". Honestly, Kenmore, I can use a blue light to figure out when the cycle is complete, just as easily as I can with a green light. Overall, I love it!!

Serious flood risk to your home.
After using the machine for 14 months we woke up one morning to find our kitchen flooded and water soaking the carpet in the basement under the dishwasher. Turns out there was nothing securing the pump to the frame. The pump was 'secured' by using two measly clamps to attach the pump to the hose. One of the clamps popped off and water went everywhere. Water compromised virtually every electrical component. Sears has replaced some of the parts and others are on back order. No use of D/W for 2 weeks at least. Getting billed labor too. So upset with sears and they have not offered much for their product failure. SOOOOOO upset with sears.

Issues

I've had this dishwasher for over a year now. I chose it because of the quiet rating it received. Yes, it is quiet and I love that but there are some drawbacks. The dishes don't dry all the way and there are plastic parts on the top rack that collect water and keep things wet. Also, the stainless steel on the exterior seems like poor quality so it doesn't really polish up nicely- it always looks dirty even though I've tried numerous polishes including the Kenmore one that came with unit. Lastly, I just spent $84 for the Sears repairman to come today because it wasn't draining. (It's under warranty still but the warranty only covers the cost of parts, not labor or the $59 fee for them to come out and diagnose). There's an extensive filter system so that food doesn't clog up the system but apparently somehow a piece of broken glass had gotten stuck in the drain pump, causing it to jam. When I asked the repairman how in the world it could've gotten stuck IN THE PUMP he said it's a common problem. He told me there's nothing to do about it and it will likely happen again! My sister has already had the same problem with hers in the first four months of owning it. It's terrible that there is no filter leading to the pump to prevent things like this. Who does't break an occasional glass in their dishwasher?? That's a serious shortcoming in my book. Otherwise, the dishes seem clean when they are done, even on the hour cycle (which I often run because the normal cycle takes about three hours). Not sure what else is out there but it might be worth your time to see if there's something better.

Good dishwasher

I picked this one because it had the fan to dry as well as all the other good washing features. So far I'm pretty happy with it, though I wish it did dry a little better.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Something to consider

Similar to my post regarding our "Kenmore" refrigerator we have been sadly disappointed with the reliability of the product. For the price point I would not expect to have multiple service calls in the first 3 years of ownership. Could be bad luck but considering the same experience with our Kenmore elite fridge I suspect it has more to do with Kenmore now being LG on the inside.

Dishwasher

Out perfroms our last dish washer by a mile. I cannot get over how quiet it is. Actually the first time we ran it, we had to look to see if it was working. There is a blue light that comes on, and that is how we knew it was working. Plus, it did an excellent job of cleaning all the dishes even the pots and pans.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a Good One!

I've had my new Elite Kenmore Dishwasher for a few weeks now and could not be happier. The price was just right, it is VERY quiet, I thought my last dishwasher was quiet, but this one yoo can hardly hear. The controls are on the top of the door, but the display on the front tells you exactly what the machine is doing. Love it!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great dishwasher

It goes well with my other Kenmore elite product. The bottom could slide in a little smoother (like the top), I had the same type before in almond/bisque.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very quiet, but some design flaws

Very quiet dishwasher. Does the trick. However, given its very high price, there are some flaws that were really surprising. - the filter is cheap and doesn't do a good job of stopping solid waste from getting to the pump. When a glass broke inside our dishwasher, a piece of glass made its way to the pump and broke it, giving us a leak and necessitating a very messy fix that took about 3 weeks before Sears sent someone out. - the dishwasher doesn't heat up its water, or cycle water until it's hot. If you use it with a powdered detergent like Cascade and your sink water is NOT hot, then the detergent will turn into a solid mass in the dispenser and your dishes won't get clean. This makes the timer unusable with dry detergents. - the dish trays use small plastic clips that can get dislodged and fall into the washer, where they'll get melted by the heating element (or worse, get into your pump and break it) - when you start the washer and then add another dish (during its "Add A Dish" part of the cycle) you have to remember to press the Start button again, or the cycle won't restart. That's just sloppy programming. - Similarly, you end up having to press Start twice a lot, which is just bad programming. The buttons should be designed for smarter use and fewer 'clicks'. There are plenty of times we've thought the dishwasher was going, only to find the next morning that the dishes weren't done because we hadn't pressed Start enough times! Other than the fact that it's a VERY quiet unit, I honestly can't recommend it. My old, cheap Maytag from our last house both heated up its own water if necessary, AND had a built-in food grinder, so you didn't need to pre-clean the dishes. Thing was noisy, but actually cleaned dishes a whole lot better.
