Even though we have only had this dishwasher for 2 weeks, my wife loves the performance and the quietness. We previously had a Whirlpool (nothing against this product) but we decided on this Kenmore we purchased from Sears. Installation went well and we have enjoyed this Kenmore. Not only quiet, but dishes come out very clean!
A great replacement to an outdated, aging dishwasher. It is very quiet and does a great job on its contents. Delivery was on time, and installation went smoothly.
Purchased this dishwasher in Jan 2014. It looks great, cleans dishes very well and it's extremely quiet. Three months later, it developed a leak from the overfill protection float (the round device in the right front of the tub). It has been leaking for two weeks now. Definitely do not recommend this appliance to anyone.

The best part about the dishwasher is how quietly it works. The bad parts are it only does an okay job washing dishes and it is poorly made. Our dishwasher started leaking where the water pump is connected to the dishwasher. Rather than deal with Sears service we went under and tightened the clamp ourselves. It seemed to work for a few weeks and then we had a pool of water under the washer again. When we called for service we were told that the warranty had just expired (even though it wasn't expired before the original leak) and we'd be responsible for the hundreds of dollars it cost to fix a poorly designed part that only costs around $1 to make. A better design may have cost them around $2, which is nothing on a washer that cost over $1K. Why doesn't anyone design for quality anymore?

I've had this dishwasher for 3 months and I love it. It is so quiet, I've had to walk in the kitchen to see if it is actually running. I've seen complaints about the way it cleans, but that has never been problem for me. I've deliberately left food on the plates and pans to see how well it would clean them, and everything has always come out perfectly clean and dry.
After using the machine for 14 months we woke up one morning to find our kitchen flooded and water soaking the carpet in the basement under the dishwasher. Turns out there was nothing securing the pump to the frame. The pump was 'secured' by using two measly clamps to attach the pump to the hose. One of the clamps popped off and water went everywhere. Water compromised virtually every electrical component. Sears has replaced some of the parts and others are on back order. No use of D/W for 2 weeks at least. Getting billed labor too. So upset with sears and they have not offered much for their product failure. SOOOOOO upset with sears.
I've owned this machine for about a week now and was concerned the first time I ran it because the inside walls stayed very wet after the cycle is completed. The green light came on, but I could still hear a faint sound, so I knew the fan must still be running. I used the 1 hour wash and the smart dry but did not load any dishes and did not use any detergent or Jet Dry this first time. I opened the door as soon as the green light came on and it said it was complete too. Then I talked with my Sears salesperson and told him what happened. He said to use the pouch type detergent and to also get the "Turbo 3X Dry" type Jet Dry, and let the cycle complete without opening the door until the fan stops and no more air is coming out of the vent at the left bottom of the door. So I got Cascaid pouches that have Dawn and a drying agent in them and also bought the Turbo 3X Jet Dry. I loaded up the machine (I LOVE how much it holds!). Then placed the Cascaid pouch and filled up the drying agent port and set the port to 3, because I have neither soft nor hard water, and this was the factory default setting. I again selected the 1 hour and Smart Dry settings. The machine washed for an hour, then the green light came on and said it was complete. I didn't open the door yet, because the fan was still running and the vent at the lower left was still pushing out warm moist air. I kept checking the vent with my hand and found that it took and hour and a half before the fan shut off. The green light stayed on this whole time. When I opened the door everything was sparkling clean and completely dry, even the plastic bowels! The walls of the dishwasher were also dry, as well as the top and bottom. This machine is AWESOME!! It's so quiet you hardly know it's on and now that I know it takes a total of 3.5 hours to complete I just let it go. The point of the Smart Dry is to use only the amount of heat needed, rather than excessive heat for a designated time, like the old machines that end up melting your plastics. Also, if you don't select Smart Dry, the machine will only "Air" dry and will take much longer, especially if you don't open the door. Now mind you, the manual doesn't tell you any of this, so I felt it was really important to spread the word. You'll LOVE this dishwasher if you operate it as I have.
My Sister and I each bought one of these. I bought an entire kitchen worth of Kenmore Elite Appliances. In the first year this thing started leaking because they used plastic where they should have used metal (per my plumber). My sister's has had to be repaired twice. Thank god she bought the extended warranty. The only good thing about this dishwasher is that its quiet (when its working). Of the 8 Appliances I bought 3 had problems in the first year. I will never purchase anything Kenmore again.
