Kenmore Elite 24" Built-In Dishwasher - For Your Messiest Dishes
The Kenmore Elite 24" Built-In Dishwasher 1276 features PowerWash technology to clean your messiest dishes. Using a spiral spray pattern rather than the more common circular pattern, this dishwasher will make your dishes sparkle. Several rotating spray jets make up the TurboZone, a new generation of dish-washing technology that gives you double the coverage of any other 24" built-in dishwasher. This powerful washing cycle won't interrupt your daily life, though, as its 48 decibels are quiet enough for you to carry on a conversation without having to raise your voice. With this Kenmore dishwasher, doing the dishes will seem like magic.
- 360° PowerWash Technology uses an innovative spray arm to reach deep into corners and blast dishes clean from all angles, to quickly erase grease, food and leftover soap.
- TurboZone® with Rotating Spray Jets uses 6 pressurized spray nozzles to blast through tough, stuck-on residue and foods like lipstick, oatmeal, cheese and baked-on egg.
- The Sanitizing Rinse Cycle is NSF-certified to remove 99.99% of bacteria left on dishes, pots, pans and utensils, for a healthier kitchen and dishes clean enough to eat off of.
- Powerful cleaning and energy savings in one, UltraClean blasts the toughest dirt and baked-on messes loose, while using less resources and energy than other heavy duty cycles.
- The SmartWash™ HE Cycle automatically adjusts water and energy use to the load size and degree of cleaning needed, helping save valuable resources.
- The UltraWash® HE Filter traps food particles and keeps them from re-entering the dishwasher, so water is cleaner and dishes shine bright.
- Featuring rapid cleaning power, the 1-Hour Wash Cycle speeds your dishes, silverware and stemware back into service.

Worked well for 3 years, then required main circuit board replacement at a cost of $175 plus labor. A couple of months ago, I would have given the dishwasher a good rating. It would be interesting to see how many reviews are still favorable 3 years-plus after installation. Not recommended!!

I was very pleased with this Kenmore Elite dishwasher when I first bought it. The dishes came out clean and it was so quiet that I wasn't sure if it was even on. It did take longer to wash, but I turned it on before going to bed so that didn't matter to me. Dishes were sparkling clean in the morning when washed on the Smart Wash setting. But...the front control panel was annoying because it was so sensitive. Our kitchen is small so every time I brushed up against it the drain cycle would go on even with the control lock on. We had to push cancel to turn it off each time this happened and it happened a lot. The racks don't track well when you pull them in and out unless you are very careful. Now it is only two and half years old and the whole control panel has died! It will cost me $350 to have it replaced. I originally paid $860 for this dishwasher and it only lasted a little over two years??? I am so angry and disappointed!

I never take time to write reviews...I'm a busy mom. But I absolutely LOVE my Kenmore Elite dishwasher. Had it about 2 years (black front) and no problems. The Sears guy who installed it was awesome. The dishwasher is quiet and (most importantly) gets my dishes clean. I've used Quantum detergent and the Seventh Generation detergent, and get great results with both. Now, I do wipe off food into a trash can before placing in the dishwasher and wipe off dishes/cooking dishes before food dries on them in large chunks. But I do no pre-washing, and the dishes still come out clean. The manual says that the dishwasher uses only 4 gallons of water, which I love given the drought here in Texas. I almost bought a Bosch dishwasher. However, I took some of our actual dishes with me to the Sears store when looking at the dishwashers. The prongs on Bosch are too tight and close together that I would have to skip a row in order to get them to fit. That would defeat any energy/water savings. The Kenmore, on the other hand, had nice roomy prongs that were large enough to fit dishes but still tight enough to pack the dishwasher thoroughly. I love my dishwasher. Thanks, Sears!
Did extensive research and sought specific features.Great sale sealed the deal.Dishwasher installed easily, amazing results cleaning and @ 48db sound level it"s hard to tell if it"s even on.
I've had this dishwasher for a few months now. Let's start by telling you what I like. I love the front controls. I have no idea why anyone would want to give up the display and controls for sleekness. This is the style to get, if you have practicality over form. Stainless in and out. Cleans much better, even on normal settings, than my old dishwasher. Mechanism to lower top rack is beefier than most and easy to do. Configurable rack on top is pretty handy. I can fit more into it than I could in my old dishwasher. Less spotting and residue left on dishes than my old dishwasher. Cleans every dish in every location very good. This thing is extremely QUIET. My salesman at the store was incredible. I did all my research, but he explained what the pros and cons of each were, and since Sears sold just about every brand I looked at, he didn't have much incentive to steer me directly to a Kenmore. I made that decision. An excellent experience with the salesman. I'll be getting the rest of the Kenmore Elite ensemble from him... MADE IN USA! What I don't like. First, pertaining to this dishwasher specifically: The wires on the racks are straight. My old one had wires bent that hold plates up and still nicely and bowls just seemed to fit easier and nicer in my old one. However, as I stated above, I can get more into this dishwasher. Some of the plastic bits in the racks look delicate and easily broken. Installation was more difficult than it needed to be. You really need to test fit this and adjust again and again until its right before you hook everything up to the machine. Lastly, I really wish it had lights that counted down the wash cycle. My old one had a **** that you could see where in the cycle it was. This one shows the buttons lit up that you configured your wash with, and one that says it's currently working. At the end, they all go off and you get a green light that comes on. I'd rather know whether I'm 1/2 way through the cycle, almost done...whatever, so I can plan my activities around it, as I never run appliances such as this without being home to make sure nothing goes wrong without me there. Most of this is just little things, though. That's my only knocks for this specific machine. My other knock is for the entire current generation of dishwashers... My old dishwasher took about 45 minutes to wash dishes. This one, takes about 2-1\2 hours... If you set it up to sanitize the dishes and use heat drying, it's 3 hours+! Are you kidding me? It's not just this one, my brother confirms his LG does the same thing, and others report similar experiences with other brands. You can, however, help yourself by running your hot water at your sink until it comes up to temperature, so the dishwasher doesn't have to heat it as much for you. Where is the net savings? I understand the new generation uses less water, but at the expense of a lot more electricity? If you have an older dishwasher, and it works fine, think long and hard before you replace it.
So far loving this dishwasher. It gets even the dirtest pans clean without prewashing. The only negative is on heated dry moisture left in the machine but I just leave the door open few minutes after emptying and that little issue is fixed. I bought it on Black Friday and got it at a great discount! My last two dishwashers were Maytags and they could not compare to this one.
We bought this dishwasher in July, three months later it needed repair. The dish washer would not shut off and the water would be extremely hot. A technician came and replaced the controller. He said it was not sensing the water temp, this caused it to continue running, not knowing that the water was hot enough. This seemed to fix the problem, but two months later it is broken again. This time it wont shutoff, but the water temp is cold or hot this time. When the water is hot, it is hot. It was so hot that it warped an insulated plastic travel mug. Another small issue are the buttons on the front panel, they are very sensitive, if your brush against them as you are moving around the kitchen, the dishwasher cycle can inadvertently be canceled. We bought this dishwasher to replace a Kenmore Elite that was about eight years old. It was a great appliance, super quite and it worked well. The new one is quit a bit louder. The insulation on the out side of the new dishwasher was noticeable thinner than it is on the old one. It may be the location I live in, but it takes a long time to get a service appointment. If you buy this eight hundred dollar dishwasher, plan to do a lot of dishes by hand.
The dishwasher is very quiet -- so quiet it is hard to tell if it is running. The dishes come out very clean and spotless. So far, we are very happy with the unit. This is our first "high end" dishwasher and it has exceeded our expectations. The only thing I did not like was the fact that installation (I did it myself) took longer than expected. Due to the size of the tub, I had to reroute the water and drain lines. I also had to purchase a new water line because the water inlet fitting was different from our old dishwasher.

I spent the extra money and got the warranty. I was told that rust was covered. It is not. The racks are rusted in many spots and the dishes do not get cleaned. Now the stainless steel inside is now scratched up from all the rust coming off the racks. The dishwasher is also very loud. I will never buy from Sears again!
