Nice!
After comparing this updated model to the older model, I can see that a new steel plate was added to the bottom front edge to help reduce the steam damage to door or electric panel. This is the improved version, and probably is not the same one that one reviewer bought 2 years ago with handle problem due to steam/heat from range (I saw the older model being phased out and on close out sales currently in the stores). I bought the new model, even though I have no cooking range underneath. The microwave is very quiet during operation. Haven't tested all he features yet, but so far so good. It didn't quite match up with the Kenmore Pro double oven we have, even the clock display is blue (it's green on Kenmore Pro) and harder to read from far away. But this is not Sears' fault as I picked the different Kenmore line. I do wish the cooktop light is led though.

Works well, but fan is not as powerful
I bought this for the fan feature (400CFM), but it doesn't do its job. I have the vent go out to the roof (direct line), and the first time I tried cooking in a skillet, it is as bad if not worse than my old microwave with in-house circulating fan. The microwave and convection features seem to be fine. I have not done extensive cooking with them, besides microwaving and toasting bread/pizza, so I can't give detail grading on them. I am extremely disappointed with the fan feature, though!

Convection ruins inside

I am not happy with my new microwave which I was excited to get with the convection. Very poor standard. After reading the instruction booklet completely, I used the convection one time and the left side looks charred. Called Sears and the repairman tells me the stainless on that side is to thin and it just turns a tarnished color when the convection is used. I am dissatisfied with this product and the simple fact that Sears has surely tested the convection and knows what it will do when used. I am now afraid of what it will look like after several uses of the convection since it now looks like I have used it for years. Been better off with a regular microwave. Shame on sears! Would return it but had been on vacation at time and let 30 days get by before I complained. Would not recommend to anyone. Note: the brownies turned out perfect so they get 1 star.

top end, fully features, a few minor flaws

Only had it a week but here are first thoughts. Overall an excellent micro. Installation - easy EXCEPT top cabinet template is confusing in one dimension, which other reviews have said, and caused holes to be drilled in wrong place in top cabinet, even by experienced installer. Back wall to mtg. screw distance is not given. Dimension is shown to imaginary line where microwave rear edge will be after installation. Poor template design. I contacted Kenmore to correct and they couldn't find anyone to take the information. Kenmore, take note! Now the good stuff - nice look, quiet, strong 4 speed vent and light, many features. Functionally, a very good microwave/convection oven. The not so good - 1) Control panel - lettering hard to see in lower light; not enough contrast. Letters and numbering a dull off-white. Particularly bad for older eyes. 2) Sound - annoying three long beeps at the end of cooking (one would be enough), which repeat again three times after 15 seconds, and again after 30 seconds, and again after another 30 seconds, and again...you get the picture. Yes, you can turn off ALL sound but I do want to know when cooking ends. Just don't beat me over the head with it. A second warning (one beep) after a few minutes would be fine. 3) Minor issue - manual doesn't mention the metal convection shelf and its use, only round rack. With a few little fixes, this could be an exceptional microwave and would move my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Be ready to buy a new handle annually

As many others have posted, the plastic handle with faux stainless will bubble up within a year. After two replacements (> $50 each), the problem is obviously design-based and they've failed to correct it in their replacement part program. Unless you want to replace your handle annually, I can't recommend this microwave.

so happy to have a microwave again

our old microwave died on Easter Sunday so we have been without one for a couple of months... I do like this model as it also has the built in vent and light along with being a convection oven. I have to learn how to use it as such but loving the microwave part!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I really like this Microwave

First let me say i do like this unit and i am glad i got it i have already used the bake and roast fetcher on it to bake some cookies it is a big unit but the are a couple area you need to be a wear of 1st the mounting direction for were to drill the bolts to the upper cabinet make sure you read the direction well and when you set up the pervaded diagram you will see a black line going around the diagram that line is the line you need to make your measurement off of not the hole part of the diagram 2nd area i have notice that if i bake something in the microwave then use the reg microwave the right side will rattle but when i put my hand on the door handle the rattle goes away but starts again once i remove my hand i have rechecked my mounting blots and brackets they have tight i will have to call in and see if maybe i need to do a simple switch out at the store being it is still with end its 14 day return other then those two things i really like this unit

Threw My Toaster Oven Out

First off, the Sears installer was a very pleasant person and did an excellent, clean install. The microwave itself is loaded with features. I personally like the sense cook feature where it senses humidity of the food to tell when it is done cooking. Worked well for me. I still have a bunch of different programs to sample but I am optimistic. My favorite part of this appliance is the convection oven capability. Cooks great.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
