I bought this for the fan feature (400CFM), but it doesn't do its job. I have the vent go out to the roof (direct line), and the first time I tried cooking in a skillet, it is as bad if not worse than my old microwave with in-house circulating fan. The microwave and convection features seem to be fine. I have not done extensive cooking with them, besides microwaving and toasting bread/pizza, so I can't give detail grading on them. I am extremely disappointed with the fan feature, though!
First let me say i do like this unit and i am glad i got it i have already used the bake and roast fetcher on it to bake some cookies it is a big unit but the are a couple area you need to be a wear of 1st the mounting direction for were to drill the bolts to the upper cabinet make sure you read the direction well and when you set up the pervaded diagram you will see a black line going around the diagram that line is the line you need to make your measurement off of not the hole part of the diagram 2nd area i have notice that if i bake something in the microwave then use the reg microwave the right side will rattle but when i put my hand on the door handle the rattle goes away but starts again once i remove my hand i have rechecked my mounting blots and brackets they have tight i will have to call in and see if maybe i need to do a simple switch out at the store being it is still with end its 14 day return other then those two things i really like this unit
First off, the Sears installer was a very pleasant person and did an excellent, clean install. The microwave itself is loaded with features. I personally like the sense cook feature where it senses humidity of the food to tell when it is done cooking. Worked well for me. I still have a bunch of different programs to sample but I am optimistic. My favorite part of this appliance is the convection oven capability. Cooks great.

The convection feature was sold to us as faster cooking. However, we were not told that it takes 30 minutes to pre-heat to 350 degrees and another 15 minutes to get to 400 degrees. This is NOT faster than the regular oven! What a waste of money. We should have bought a regular microwave for hundreds less.

We just installed this microwave and have it vented outside. When we cook something that creates a lot of steam (most frozen microwave meals) the steam will also come out top vent of the microwave. This causes a lot of steam to collect on the front of my new cabinet. Over time this will ruin the finish. Poor design!
As long time Sears customers and owners of several rental homes we have purchased many appliances over the past 30+ years and have come to appreciate and expect quality from Sears. We purchased the gas range with this over-the-range microwave combo for our own home in late 2011. The price was a little steep but we were under the impression that we were buying ALL STAINLESS STEEL so this was something that would last. That is why we were so dissapointed when, within the first year, we noticed bubbling and peeling the microwave door handle. Although the door handle was designed to match the oven door handle, they are not made of the same material -- the microwave's is actually a PLASTIC door handle painted over with a faux stainless steel paint. Thankfully we had purchased the extended 3-year warranty as we are on our 3 microwave door handle in as many years. Not sure what we'll do next time the handle melts since we will no longer be under warranty. The handle itself runs about $50 and that's not including labor (replacing handle involves dismantling the entire door). Overall just extremely dissapointed and feel deceived as even on this page the description reads 'stainless steel' and it's what you would expect for the price -- seems like deceptive advertising.
If you use this over a gas top stove, it will melt the handle. I wouldn't mind this if Kenmore would back up their product and send me another handle to install every 6 months. There needs to be a recall on this product and let me return this product. Please do not buy if you have a gas stove.
