Ratings & Reviews
Overall, others give this:
I purchased this item in April 2014. My husband and I are Snowbirds and we were leaving town, so it was only used approximately four times. When we returned I went to open the door and the glass on the inside of the door fell out. thank goodness it didn't break or I would have been cut. I have never seen one where the glass was separate from the door. Either had the technician. There is silicone holding the glass in and it seemed to just give way. I now have a replacement door, which has the same design. I'm hoping that the same problem does not arise. I have purchased Kenmore products for years and have never been unhappy. I hope this is just a fluke.

I purchased this to replace a very old over the range microwave. It has all the options I wanted with the convection feature as well. There is an option to have the turntable stop turning when larger dishes are in the microwave. However, no matter what your user manual says, it turntable will always rotate when using convection. This is disappointing since using a 13 by 9 pan with convection is impossible with this oven since the turntable must rotate. It was also frustrating to learn this by searching on the web vs. having a flyer or other insert in the box to correct the user manual.
I really like this microwave. It is obviously made by Electrolux, as this model incorporates their exclusive diamond back design on the inside panels. The controls are intuitive, and it features sensor cooking that actually works and takes the guesswork out of the equation. The blue LED display prompts you, making it virtually unnecessary to consult the manual. I actually have not had to look at the manual yet. The light underneath is bright, and has two settings. The fan is so much quieter compared to the the Kenmore it replaced. It, too, has two speeds. One complaint someone had was that the window was too dark. The reason it is tinted so darkly is that the interior is shiny diamond back stainless steel. It would blind you if it were not for this dark glass. I appreciate the darker color, and don't know why anyone would stare into their microwave. You can still see the progress of the food being cooked. Overall, I am really impressed with this microwave, and feel I made the right choice!
