So far I love it!
After researching many models, I recently purchased this item to replace my dying microwave. So far, operating as a microwave, it does everything I want it to. I have not tried the convection oven yet, but hope to soon. My main reason for purchasing this model was the stainless steel interior. I do wish the instruction manual was a little clearer on how to operate the convection oven vs. the microwave. I have never had a convection oven/microwave combo before, so it is all new to me. I am very happy with my purchase!

Bad Product
I bought one of these after my microwave broke really excited about the convection features, thinking it would be great to have a smaller oven, especially in the summer months here in Texas. Well with the first one I bought we tried to bake chicken in convection mode, and started to think something was up when it was taking over 2 hours to get it to a safe internal temperature. We were supposed to be cooking it at 350 per the oven display, but I used a probe thermometer to find out it was at around 220 the whole time. I raised the temp on the display to the highest setting to get the real temp to around 300 to finish cooking the chicken. The next day, I tried preheating the oven to 350 and when it signaled that it had reached that temp I put in the probe thermometer to see and again it was only at around 220. So, the temps are very inaccurate and the oven just doesn't get hot enough to be of real use. I returned this first one after calling Kenmore service, thinking it was possibly just a defective one after the phone call. But, the second one is worse...same issue with the temperature and it also makes a weird metal on metal sound when starting in convection mode. This product needs to be pulled and re-engineered. It's really damaged the brand for me...I can't see myself buying any Kenmore 'Elite' products given how shoddy this one is. I'll be returning the second one tomorrow, big waste of time.

Didn't last a month

Bought this to replace one I have had for years. Within a week, it started making noise. It sounded like someone had shoved a cat in the microwave and turned it on! Needless to say, it was returned. I replaced it with another brand. Then I realized that the Kenmore microwave convection oven has plastic parts (the rotor for the turntable and the ring with wheels on it) as well as a glass tray. Most convection microwaves have a metal tray and metal rotor. I can only imagine what would have happened to the movable parts when the oven is heated up to 450 degrees! The clerk in the store told me that he has had several of the Kenmore products returned recently because they changed manufacturers. I really liked the features and the price was great, but considering the problems, I am not about to buy a Kenmore appliance any time soon.

Poor performance for the money

LOW power microwave. VERY difficult to clean. When pushing the "1" button it automatically puts 1 minute instead of 1 second. Gets stuck on Convection, after convection cooking is complete often has to be unplugged to return to microwave function. Wish I had NOT purchased it.

Microwave-Convection

Although the concept of a microwave/convection oven is new to me, I love the thought of using this during the heat of summer months, instead of my conventional oven.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great product

Love the microwave. Favorite features: 1. Has a handle, so easier not to slam the door. 2. Just hit any number button and it will automatically micro for that many minutes. 3. Has a button at the bottom for only 30 sec micro 4. Have not yet used the convection oven. Just bought a cookbook on convection oven recipes I am excited to try. 5. It has a blue light for the time, instead of the normal white or red. This is a nice change. Would like to see changed: 1. It beeps five times when it is done. Then, it will repeat this every so many minutes. This is a pain. Would like to remove the repeat the beep feature. Also, five beeps are too much. If I am using the micro and put something in for a min, i know it will be done quick, but probably am trying to multitask and may not be standing in the room with the micro to open the door to stop the repeats or to avoid the 5 beeps when others are trying to sleep and I do not wish to disturb them.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent purchase! You don't be disappointed!

This microwave is fantastic! It's sleek, quiet and efficient. The convection over feature is great, and it even comes with a rack so you can put two things in there at once! Definitely a great price for what you get.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very nice looking but issues

We ordered this item for the dual use. We took it out of the package and used it the first time as Convection. There was a loud sound from the fan on the back, like it was hitting other metal. It would do it off and on. We used it thru the whole cycle of cooking and it got worse as the time ended. Also the top of the unit got very hot, not sure if this is designed this way or not, but would not want kids to touch it at all as it would probably burn them. I wish it would have worked as we have been looking for one for quite sometime and thought we had found our answer. Back to looking.
