This is by far the best humidifier I've bought and is definitely worth the money. All day I was looking around at humidifiers and even bought a Vicks one that was a piece of **** and makes this one even more worth the eighty dollars. It has a humidity gauge that tells the humidity in the room and even has timers. All in all this is a great humidifier and is worth the money.

Generally I have only on main concern, the unit used daily will require you change filters about one a month. At $9.98 per filter, less shipping (BestAir Humidi-WICK Humidifier Wick Filter H65-C) that could add up for two units from December-March. Noise is average for a humidifier and that is not a concern from my perspective. The thermostat appears to work and cycle the unit on and off. Generally, I refill every evening for each unit. Overall, satisfied with output and operation, filters are costly.
I ran it several nights without issue. Then it wouldn't raise the humidity above 21 according to the read-out and said the filter needed changed. I removed it and turned it over and it ran for one night (about 8 hours) and again indicated filter needed changed and wouldn't show a reading above 21. Seems like you would probably have to replace the filter at least once a week to have it function properly. I'm ordering one new filter to try again. If it performs the same way again, it will be in the trash. It's also a bit louder than I expected.
I just set this up yesterday and am still hoping I don't have to return it. Consumer Reports gave it their #1 rating, but I am less than thrilled so far. It is rather large, has sort of a non-profit hospital design quality, the Up and Down arrow buttons seem as if they could fall off any minute, and the LED display reads "Of" instead of Off because it has space for only 2 alphanumeric fields! (It also has a mini blower fan, mentioned in product description, that does make an audible whooshing sound. The high (A3) setting sounds like a hair dryer!) I let it run for over 18 hours, overnight, in my 20 by 15-foot LR. The thermostat reading rose from 21 to 28%?and then just stayed there, unable, it seems, to get the humidity level up into the recommended range of 40-50%. I moved it into my (12 x 9-foot) BR, and it seems less daunted by that task. Problem is, the thing is just too LARGE (physical space it takes up) to keep it in the bedroom. Good think I still have the box and receipts!
