I have tried to make whole wheat bread for a few months now and I have not made one good loaf. The loafs come out small and dense. I have tried every thing to improve the loaf like using less water and making sure I had new yeast. I have tried less yeast since I live at a high altitude. I had an older version of the Kenmore Bread Maker and loved it. I alway got good bread from my old machine that I had for over 10 years. I am very disappointed with this version of the Kenmore Bread Maker. I cannot recommend the Kenmore Bread Maker with the LCD Display.
I had a old breadmaker from the 90's and thought Id update it to the sleek looking kenmore. After baking a cake in it, the top was still raw, the bottom had not even mixed, so I had dry cake mix on the bottom. The dough paddle doesnt sit flush against the bottom , Now it may work well with bread dough, but i wanted it to bake cakes as well
We were very pleased with ours and gave another as a gift. Pan did warp so giving only 4 stars, but it has not stopped us from making perfect loaves of bread.
I have had this machine for almost a year now and have not had but maybe two decent loaves this whole time. I used to make bread in my other machine ( a real cheapie that I had for more than 10 years) every few weeks and at holidays and for family gatherings I would make several loaves in a 24 hour period to take. They were always wonderful and I never had a problem. With this machine I can make one loaf, remove it and wait 30 minutes and make another loaf and they never turn out the same. I thought at first it was me, but after a year, and trying everything know to the baking world to get great bread, I give up. This thing is in the trash.
Very easy to use and clean. Operates quietly and efficiently. I have owned other bread makers and they can be noisy and hard to clean and doesn't knead and bake evenly so this one is better in comparison to other ones! And it's a good deal for the money!
We were very pleased with the ease of use of this product and the quality of the bread that we get out of it. We have used it for just over a week straight now, baked four different types of bread loaves of various sizes and did not have one bad batch of bread yet. Excellent product for us not too smart bakers.
Shipped quickly, arrived very late in the day, 6pm. UPS delivers until 7pm but I really wanted to use it. So I stayed up late to read the manual and make my first loaf of bread. Good product. Measuring cup arrived broken everything else was fine.
Was pretty happy with this bread maker for about two weeks. After that it started to do some strange loud sounds and finally stopped working at all. And I just bought it last month. Very disapointted!
Kenmore should be a name you can trust... and this bread machine is not the worst one we have bought. We have owned just about every brand that you can think of. This one was one year and 2 months old before it quit. Of course, most people don't make bread every other day in their machine. Pros. The internal pan is more sturdy than some other machines. When it worked, it seemed very sturdy. Cons: The paint wears off the buttons rather quickly, so you have to remember how to run the machine. The dimensions of the machine are rather big. Doesn't fit into the appliance garage on the kitchen counter. Noisy Perhaps the biggest CON is that Sears tries to "con" you out of money by selling you what it calls a product replacement plan... It is not a replacement plan. We paid $66 for this product originally. They will give me a $66 gift card for this and only for three years. The MF warranty is for 2 years full replacement.
