Great grill
The stainless steel grates mean this will last for many years. The heat grills the meat evenly and I did not want a side grill. Very pleased with my purchase.

Bought this grill in April 2012. It is now March 2014 and the entire bottom of the grill has rusted out into nothing but rusty corn flakes. Bought the grill thinking with stainless steel burners, grates, sides, lid, etc that it was well worth the $400. Loved the grill, but a $50 grill will last longer than this one did. Now I have to convince my wife that spending more on a new grill is a good idea. Not sure I want to be the guy grilling out back with a George Foreman on his deck drinking a cold one. P.S. - Good news is that the grates, lid, and the burners are solid as ever, too bad there is nothing left to connect them too. .

DO NOT BUY! Junk within 1 year. Insides rust away to nothing.

just google "kenmore stainless grill complaints" and you will find tons of reviews just like this one, and the other poor reviews on this site.the floor of the grilling area is made of very thin galvanized steel, which is right above the propane tank and fuel lines. this rusted through within a year to the point that it tore itself off and collapsed onto the propane tank just below. DANGEROUS! Now it cannot be used because there is no barrier between the burners and the propane lines and tank and anything that falls through the grates will fall directly onto the tank and lines. This is not covered by the factory warranty and customer service trys to put the blame on lack of proper maintenance when clearly the problem is that the bottom of the grill pan should be stainless as well as the rest of the insides of the heat box instead of plain sheet metal which is all rotting away FAST. having paid almost $500 for the thing with tax and such i am going to try to do some home repairs to extend the life of this waste of money and i STRONGLY suggest not buying this model or anything from kenmore, you WILL be disappointed.

Bottom Rusted out in 2 yrs

Loved the Grill, great to cook and kept good even heat....until the bottom rusted out about 23 months after I purchased it. The grill is kept completely covered on an outside patio for its entire life and now I have basically a large paper weight. Completely horrible product and terrible customer support as they basically are saying they can not help me. This will be the last Kenmore product I will buy and be sure to let anyone else know of the terrible quality someone can expect from Kenmore.

Cheap Sheet metal burner box - rust out

I completely agree with a couple of previous comments. The burner box tray rusted out and disintegrated in 2 years. the tray is not replaceable. The parts cost would be over $300 and the new unit is $380. Be assured that I will not buy the same unit from Sears. One of the previous reviews "The bottom will rust out within two years. Don't kid yourself and look elsewhere for this model number on the internet KENMORE 148.16154210 It's THIS GRILL. I loved this grill and raved about it to everyone and then this cheep tray worth 10 bucks completely rusted away beneath the burners. The grill is un-useable because there is no barrier now between the burners and the storage area of the grill where the propane tank is. The rest of the grill is in excellent shape. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PART FOR THIS TRAY. YOU MUST BUY A NEW BURNER BOX. Look up the cost of a new burner box on Sears Parts Direct. It's $344. The grill cost $399. In less than two years, this stupid tray -- not sold separately -- will rust through, and render your grill useless although the rest of it is in great shape. EVERYONE at Sears will shrug their shoulders an tell you it's a shame that "they" don't make that part available separately. I USED TO BUY SEARS BECAUSE OF THE PARTS AND SERVICE AVAILABLE. NO MORE!!!"

Almost lasted 2 years

Purchased this grill in July of 2012, now it's June of 2014 and like other reviewers, the bottom has rusted out. Not what one would expect from a $400 grill. Time to pull out the 25 year old weber and buy a bag of charcoal...

poor locking on the wheel

This has the locking wheel, in the back, unable to see where it is at unless you get down and look, now who stores their BBQ out so you can get all around it to get to the lock. Dumb design. BBQ is OK, not worrying about rust as we live in the high desert, but time will tell.
