Product Description

Kenmore 7.5 cu. ft. Gas Dryer - Smart Clothing Care

With SmartDry Plus™ technology, the Kenmore gas dryer 7710 delivers more efficient, gentler clothing care. The advanced temperature monitor regulates the amount of heat your clothes are exposed to and moisture sensors prevent over-drying your delicate fabrics. By increasing airflow, the unit's heated dryer rack offers more effective drying in shorter periods, so you can quickly air out tumble-free items like shoes, stuffed animals or bulky pillows. Add in the powder-coat dryer drum and Quiet Pak™ sound insulation, and you have smarter, gentler way to care for your drying needs with Kenmore.

  • Smart Dry Technology uses advanced sensors that adjust the interior temperature to remove the moisture from your fabrics and ensure dry clothes and linens without overheating.
  • Tumbling clothes periodically after the dry cycle is complete, Wrinkle Guard keeps fabrics fresh and smooth longer, so you can empty the dryer on your schedule.
  • From piles of clothes to big fluffy comforters, this dryer delivers plenty of space, so you can tumble, freshen and restore more in fewer loads.
  • Designed to channel air around tumble-free items like stuffed animals, shoes and hats, the Kenmore heated dryer rack delivers a thorough dry without tossing and turning.
  • QuietPak™ sound insulation absorbs both vibrations and sound for quieter operation from the beginning to end of cycle.

Great Features
This dryer has all the features I wanted including the ability to dry athletic shoes and other fragile items on a stationary rack. One advertised feature that hasn't particularly been exceptional is the "quiet" feature. I feel that it is just as loud as any other dryer I've ever owned. It's not objectionable...just not "quiet." Be sure to shorten the hose to the dryer vent with no more than one bend as much as possible or the dryer will take too long on the auto dry setting. After we shortened the hose, it dried at about the same rate as my previous dryer. All in all, this appears to be a very good dryer. I've run about six loads through it at this time.

This dryer doesn't dry clothes well
This is the worst dryer that I've owned. It takes forever to dry the clothes. In the sensor mode, the clothes remain very damp. I'm returning it.

Great dryer - but read my comments!

I had this dryer delivered and I installed it myself. Easy to do. First load worked great - clothes were nice and dry with the auto dry feature. Then, I noticed that the dryer wasn't level because the top of the unit sloped downwards from back to front. Took out my level and put it on the top and sure enough it was not level! So I adjusted the feet so that the top was level (front to back). After that adjustment, the clothes would no longer dry. Had to run several cycles to get them dry. I called service and they came out. Turns out that when I "leveled" the dryer I actually put it out of level. NOTE: the top of the unit is supposed to slope down from back to front! Because I had inadvertently tipped the dryer back, the moisture sensor (which is located at the front of the unit by the lint filter) was not sensing the moisture content properly and hence the clothes were not drying. The technician leveled the unit properly (use the seam on the side of the cabinet to achieve proper level - not the top of the unit) the dryer has been working great! Also note that you can change the sensitivity of the moisture sensor to prolong the drying cycle. The unit comes set at the default level but you can increase the drying time to "Normal" by 15% (2nd setting) or 30% (3rd setting). I have mine set at the 2nd setting and ts great. Read the manual on how to set this feature.

Just OK dryer

Bought this dryer little over 3 months ago and the door handle is falling apart. This dryer seemed to be the latest version of my last dryer which was 13 years old. It doesn't hold a candle. The old dryer was less noisy and dried clothing much faster. The door was sturdier and didn't have some plastic part to use to close it. I am definitely not happy with this purchase.

Do you like wet clothes?

Agree with the other reviewer, this dryer doesn't dry well at all. I usually have to run the dryer on the hottest setting for almost 2 full cycles. Going to see about returning or exchanging this dryer.

Perfect for us

I am reviewing after drying 25 loads of laundry. Dryer sensor worked good, cloths were dry. Easy to set up, Noise is eaqual to any other dryer in its type, and price was right.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
