Three inches of foam insulation and a long-life baked enamel exterior finish contribute to the efficiency of the Kenmore 32154 66-gallon electric water heater. Designed for durability and efficiency, this Kenmore electric water heater has Super Lineguard™ elements for superior resistance to lime buildup, Everlast Pexan™ polymer dip tube, and a glass-lined steel electric water heater with two large anode rods for superior electric water heater protection.
A 66-gallon electric water heater is the minimum recommended size for a 3- to 4-person household with above-average water use.
- 3 inches of energy-efficient foam insulation (R value 24.0) prevents heat loss
- The tank and parts have a 12-year limited warranty; labor has a 1-year warranty
- Cobalt Blue Ultra Coat™ glass-lined tank with two large anodes maximizes tank life by protecting against corrosion
- Super Lineguard™ element lasts longer and has superior resistance to lime buildup
- RotoSwirl™ self-cleaning cold-water inlet tube swirls water to prolong tank life and maintain energy efficiency by discouraging lime buildup
- Temperature and pressure (T&P) safety relief valve is factory installed
- DualWatt™ lower element easily converts from 3800 watt to 5500 watt to accommodate different wiring

I bought 2 Power Miser 12 (66 gallon) electric hot water heaters about 14 years ago. I had to replace one in 2012 and now the other one has started to leak and will have to be replaced. Most other companies give 10 years or less on their warranties, but Sears has enough confidence in their water heaters to warranty them 12 years. I got 10 and 14 years out of my hot water heaters and you can't really expect too much more than that. I replaced the first one with another Power Miser 12 two years ago with it still under warranty (which Sears honored) and I will replace the second one with another Kenmore as well. Also, I have an all electric house and noticed a drop in my monthly electric bills when I replaced the smaller, inefficient hot water units with my Kenmore products 14 years ago. I am very happy with the results I have gotten from the 3 units I have already purchased and have NO doubts about buying a 4th one from Sears. I have high expectations. These are superior products.
I recently installed this unit in our house. We wanted a bigger unit than what we had and we decided to go with this 66 gallon unit in lieu of an 80 gallon unit, due to space. So far the unit has been a blessing for the household. The hot water comes in fast and the warranty is also a great perk.

We had the 66 gallon power miser electric water heater for about 9 years. A few weeks ago, I went out to my garage to find the floor flooded with water, a stench of burning plastic, and scorch marks on the water heater. Apparently the unit shorted, and the upper element just stayed hot. The water in the tank overheated, but the safety valve failed to open. The inner tank ruptured, flooding my garage, but also dripping water onto the electricals which caused them to short out and catch fire. I had to pay for a service tech to come out and assess the damage, but he authorized a free warranty replacement of the entire unit. I spent probably an hour and a half at Sears trying to pick up the replacement because the employees did not know how to process the return. However, in the end, Sears honored the warranty on a 9 year old water heater and gave me a new one. I hope this one doesn't catch fire.
2 years and no problems. Saves lots of $$ on electric vs our 25 yr old 50 gal. I didn't need to hook up the optional second element, I am able to take 40 minute showers if I want to. I went on a vacation for a week and turned off the tank and when I got back home the water was obviuosly not hot still, but it only took like 5-10 minutes and I had hot water....very fast unit. (and thats without the 2nd element!) The wife and I have never run out of hot water except twice... after she was in the shower 30+ minutes and then I was for 20-25 minutes right after another.

Heats up quickly - had family of 7. In 5 years - had to replace both therostats. Even though 12 years warranty on parts after 1 or 2. SEARS 800 numbers not set up to send out warranty parts - Kept getting run around. Finally got manager to agreed to send out tech free to bring out part. I replaced parts - simple & quick if handy and following instructions. The drain valve is CHEAP plastic - most are anymore. Everytime I open it - will not stop dripping. Replaced 1 time and the washer another.

We picked up this unit as a floor model, install was simple, and it's been working great ever since. My only issue is that if you crank temp much above factory, you will get too hot of water. Understand that our water lines are insulated, etc, but the unit kicks out all my family of four can or should use.

This water heater has worked fine for 2 1/2 years, until last week when we started to run out of hot water. With a twelve year warranty, I 'd expect not to need to repair this unit for the first five years. This was/is not an inexpensive water heater. I am not impressed.
