hose works if you take out washer
The drain hose fitting does not work with a hose washer in the garden hose end. Take out the washer (not needed in this application), screw on the hose and everything works great.

Great dehumidifier the first year. A dud the second year.
I bought the dehumidifier 3 weeks ago and it's working well so far. My experience with a previous Sears dehumidifier beginning three years ago went like this: First year; worked well. Second year: coils iced up constantly and I had to turn it off for long periods to thaw it out. Third year: refrigerant leaked out, it becomes a high priced fan and not worth repairing. My advice is to get the extended warranty. Update: 7-31-2014: Brought out dehumidifier after storing from last year. Let it run for two days in a humid basement...not a drop of water. Also, the area where the compressor sits get very hot. We'll see what the service agreement folks decide

Works Great!

Item has product improvements over older models; operates more quietly; and removes more water -- now we must wait and see if it lasts longer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Works great.

Had a water leak in basement. Purchased to dry out the area and it worked great. The bucket is easy to remove and dump with its handy handle. Only one wish is that the fan would cycle on and off with the unit when the desired humidity setting has been reached. For the money, a great buy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Dehumidifier

Basically it seems to lower the humidity to 10% below what it is set for. Otherwise OK

Very Poor Design

Bought and installed this unit this morning. I read all the instructions. Turned it on and it shut off after 5 minutes. The "tank full" light comes on after a few minutes and shuts the unit off. I did read the reviews on the 30 pint unit but when i went to the store i ended up purchasing this one. Mistake! Back to the store...

Dehumiifier

I previously bought a GE humidifier from **********, took it back because it did not shut off when full and water leaked on floor. I have had no problem with this product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Short lifespan

We bought a Kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier two years ago and it just gave out. It started frosting up and the water output diminished. These don't last long!

Works great

I use it in a basment in a townhouse, the fan clears the musty smell quickly and keeps the air moving. A full bucket of water is produced twice a day. It gets the air down to the 30's in moisture, and the 40's when it is hot and humid out, Over all it looks and works great in a corner.
