I purchased and had installed on 6/14/12. It is 7/30/12 and the pilot will not stay lit and subsequently I have no hot water. I called to schedule service and the earliest available is 3 weeks! I asked to speak with a supervisor, answer....no. I called back and tried again. They said I could speak to a supervisor this time, but please hold. I was on hold for 10 minutes, and then I heard the dreaded sound like I left the phone off of the hook. They disconnected. Must I say more? Sears is aweful
Excellent water heater. Very efficient and heats up water very fast. Tank is well insulated and keeps water hot for long periods of time without having to constantly reheat.
Easy to install. I have the temp control **** on the lower end of the temperature range (maybe 25%) and it's still really hot, meaning this thing can get to some pretty high temperatures if desired. The true test will be if it last 12 years.
looked everywhere and could not beat the price anywhere. installed easy and works perfect. has an igniter, so you do not even need a match to light
Purchased this item from samples on the sales floor. I was impressed with the warranty and the final purchase price. The water heaters that are purchased at some of the big box stores are overpriced and frankly not a very good value according to my Plummer.
The water heater has 2" of insulation versus 1" on the old one, so more efficient. The hot water and cold water outlets were opposite the old heater so I had to use Shark Bites on 24" flexible lines. Worked great. I would have liked a more efficient heater but only available in California. Please make them available to everyone.

Does what a water heater is supposed to do - heats water well. A couple of negatives: 1) The thermostat setting is truly approximate. "HOT" is supposed to be 125 degrees but typically hits 140 degrees. "LOW" is perhaps 110 Degrees and really spoils the recovery time. Set to "HOT" and you'll be OK. 2) This is probably the noisiest water heater we've owned. The burner is LOUD. That said, it provides plenty of hot water and the electronic control cycles the burner on and off more frequently so the temperature is generally more constant than with older heaters. All in all a good unit.
