Purchased this product December 2011, yesterday it started gushing water from the bottom. Tank has apparently ruptured. Spent over an hour and 7 phone calls to Sears service, was finally told to call back at 6am this morning. Because the service desk had now closed for the night. Up at 5:45 on a Sunday am to call in at 6. Was told that the easiest service appointment is TUESDAY. That would mean 3 days without hot water. Ah, no. So, I'll have to call a plumber and pay out of pocket, meaning the warrantee is basically useless. When is your water water going out not an emergency? Answer: When you call the Sears service center (apparently in some foreign land) where polite people speak off a script, while we struggle to understand each other

We purchased this water heater after shopping around for a couple of weeks. This is the best deal we could find anywhere in our area. Great product!! Don't forget your installation kit it makes install a breeze.

This was easy to install and get plummed and the pilot light lit and the hot water is flowing now. No waiting on hot water no matter where in the hot you are. Well worth the prce.
It replaced my old Kenmore water heater. I was able to install it using pretty much all the existing pipe connections and strapping hardware. One thing it impressed me is it started easily once I connected the gas pipes. After clicking the starter button a few times, the LED light started to flash every 3 seconds. I released the push button and turned the gas on. I don't need to use a match to light the pilot light anymore.
This water heater was so easy to install, with no problems at all. Heats the water up quick. I washed dishes then all six family members took showers with out running out of hot water...perfect.
I ordered this model after our old water heater began to leak in the basement. Ordered it online, picked it up at the store that afternoon. I've never installed one before, but with the additional installation kit it was a breeze, only took me about 90 minutes. Fired it up and had hot water within 30 minutes. A great buy, and if it lasts half as long as my old one did (close to 15 years) it's well worth the price.
I shopped around extensively for the best deal possible. I also needed a good quality unit. Comparable units were $80 to $150 more with less features. After reading a couple of reviews here, I purchased this unit on line and picked up at the store. It installed easily (less than 40 minutes, by myself) and it has worked better than our original unit did when it was new. Faster recovery is the main feature that we like best.
