Product Description

No one in its class performs better* and no one in its class cleans better.**

The Kenmore® 28102 washer is now bigger.*** It also features the high-performing Triple Action® impeller to provide a deep clean, 3-part wash motion while using less water. This triple action system includes a wash basket motion, an impeller action and a burst of concentrated detergent pumped through the wash plate.

The white Kenmore 2810 washing machine uses 63% less water and 73% less energy for over $175 per year in total savings.† It also makes it easier than ever to get whiter whites, thanks to the Timed Oxi™ dispenser. Just press a button, and your oxi additives are released into the wash at the right time to help boost cleaning power. Set-in stains are no match for the Soak cycle that helps eliminate tough stains from clothing. The PreWash option also lets you customize your wash to clean organic stains like berries, wine or extra-dirty loads.

  • Combining wash basket motion, impeller rotation and a burst of concentrated detergent, the Triple Action® impeller deep cleans fabrics while using less water.
  • Stainboost™ extends wash time for a deeper soak, better cleaning penetration and more powerful stain removal while remaining gentle on fabrics.
  • The timed Oxi-Option™ is designed to automatically add powdered oxygen cleaners at just the right moment in your washer’s cycle for deeper cleaning and brighter whites.
  • Designed to effectively clean up to 20 towels at once, this 4.5 cu. ft. capacity washer gets more clean in fewer loads.
  • Rapid basin rotation uses centrifugal force to remove excess moisture from fabrics quickly, reduce dry times and ease transfer from washer to dryer.
*Among leading brand top load washers with washplate systems greater than 4.0 cu.ft. and less than 4.7 cu. ft .as measured by DOE standards, based on an analysis of 4 criteria: AHAM cleaning score for an 8 lb load, DOE EnergyGuide in kWh/yr, average cycle times for an AHAM 8lb Normal cycle cleaning test, and machine capacity of declared DOE capacity value; total matrix score based on utility score weighting.

**Among leading brand top load high efficiency washers with washplates greater than 4.0 cu. ft. and less than 4.7 cu. ft. as measured by DOE standards, based on an 8 lb load.

***As compared to Kenmore model 28002.

†Compared to a deep fill top load washer manufactured before 2004, using the normal cycle. Average use, 11 year life and 10 loads per week.

So far I love this washer!
Hello everyone, I have had this washer and matching gas dryer for about a week. I went from a standard agitator style washer to this one. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't clean my clothes as good as my old one, because the negative reviews were pretty consistently stating that it was ruff on clothes and didn't clean them very well. I actually think this washer cleans my clothes better than my old one ever did. Here are several of the issues I saw in the negative reviews and my responses to them. 1 "The washer doesn't clean your clothes./The top clothes don't get wet/clean" My response, I followed the loading instructions and it cleaned my clothes perfectly fine. It will rotate the top clothes to the bottom eventually. I have watched this washer all the way through each cycle, and I know it gets all the clothes. Also this washer spins so fast it can partially dry the top clothes during the spin cycle. This intentional this helps reduce the drying time. Also as a side note I am using regular powder Tide he detergent for all loads. I also use the Oxi boost cycle for whites with Tide Oxi. 3 "You can't select the proper load size" My response, that is because it automatically adjusts how much water is needed based on the load size and fabric type. 4 "Bedding doesn't clean very well" My response, I found that the sheets cycle is fine for sheets and perhaps thin blankets. But for large comforters (cal king) I find the deep was cycle is best. 5 "The wash cycles are too long" My response, it is true that the wash times are longer than my old washer. However I find that I have fewer loads because of the increased capacity. I actually think it kind of equals out. I hope this helps someone trying to decide if they should get this washer.

I hate this washer
We've owned this washer two weeks, and it's the worst purchase we ever made. I'm totally familiar with the HE machines and their specific detergents, having owned a front loader for 13 years. This new machine does not get the clothes clean, unless the load is small. Wash times are too lengthy. I absolutely hate this washer and wish I could return it, and go back to the whirlpool Duet I had before. Calling the number in the user manual is no help; you get scripted dialog that they won't deviate from.

Washing machine caught fire

Bought the 28002 model of this washer April 2012. It operated well until July 11, 2014 when it caught fire during the wash cycle and was completely destroyed. Fire department was dispatched to put the fire out. Caused damage to laundry enclave, hallway, and guest bathroom. Filed defective product complaint with Sears, Sedgewick Insurance, and Whirlpool. Not resolved to my satisfaction. No longer a Sears "valued" customer.

Works great for the cost

Had a dead dryer- 15 years old so decided to replaced both. 4.5 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer w/ Express Cycle - White works as expected. Cleans the clothes well. Previous washer was a top loader with a agitator. Enough options to to get the job done for 3 people. 4.5 cu feet is big enough to clean our king size pillow top so we do have to take it in to laundry mat or dry cleaners. Cycle times are longer which gets a few complaints on the reviews. Its up to me when the clothes get washed so I cannot blame an inanimate object for the time it takes. Choose this over the front loaders because of the mold issue and having to clean the gasket ever so often. Also if I need to add an item during the wash I can unlock and lift the the top up. Had the 4.5 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer w/ Express Cycle - White for 5-6 months. Matching Kenmore Dryer works as expected. Nothing fancy.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Washer...Happy With Purchase

It is a little more noisy than I'd expected, which I believe is due to the plastic/glass top. It IS a HE machine. It's designed to clean with limited use of water and PROPER detergent (i.e. labeled as HE on the container). Given that, you may be surprised at clean the clothing is when you see -literally - how little water is needed to do the job. This unit is replacing a Maytag Neptune HE machine (top loader) that just simply quit running. I honestly say that this machine cleans clothes 100% better than that older unit; to be expected given newer technology and all. We've owned this unit for about a month and love the features, wash options and - not to be redundant - simply how easy stains are removed from clothing, towels and/or whatever.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Doesn't Wash Blankets Well

There are so many things I love about the washer. My only main complaint is how it washes my blankets. They fit in the washer and are not large. Yet they do not wash very well. This may be due the fact it uses way less water than my old washer, but I still expected a better wash. Overall the washer does very well with clothes, but not so well when it comes to washing blankets.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

28102 & 68102

This is a Fantastic Set of machines!! Today my set was delivered and I waited to use my washing machine like the delivery guy said to do because of it being in the cold. The guys removed my old school set and set up my new one's. The washer and dryer does EXACTLY what it says it does!! This is my first Kenmore and I'm used to the old agitator in the middle, but I can assure you if you bougt this set you will be ABSOLUTLY HAPPY with the pair!! The pair is quiet and does the job!! All it takes is common sense to use this great set. Kenmore washer #28102 and Kenmore matching dryer #68102. I am very very happy with the results.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Very harsh on clothes. Not good for large items like sheets.

The High-Efficency washers are only efficient at one thing, using less water. But as a result, they are a lot rougher on the clothes. Since there is so little water, the clothes on the bottom are beat to a pulp and the ones on top are barley washed. Large items like sheets do not wash well. First time I used it my clothes were covered with lint and wrinkled. Exchanged it for a front loader like we had before. Front loaders are much more gentle on the clothes and they come out of the dryer clean and NOT wrinkled.
