The Kenmore® 28102 washer is now bigger.*** It also features the high-performing Triple Action® impeller to provide a deep clean, 3-part wash motion while using less water. This triple action system includes a wash basket motion, an impeller action and a burst of concentrated detergent pumped through the wash plate.
The white Kenmore 2810 washing machine uses 63% less water and 73% less energy for over $175 per year in total savings.† It also makes it easier than ever to get whiter whites, thanks to the Timed Oxi™ dispenser. Just press a button, and your oxi additives are released into the wash at the right time to help boost cleaning power. Set-in stains are no match for the Soak cycle that helps eliminate tough stains from clothing. The PreWash option also lets you customize your wash to clean organic stains like berries, wine or extra-dirty loads.
- Combining wash basket motion, impeller rotation and a burst of concentrated detergent, the Triple Action® impeller deep cleans fabrics while using less water.
- Stainboost™ extends wash time for a deeper soak, better cleaning penetration and more powerful stain removal while remaining gentle on fabrics.
- The timed Oxi-Option™ is designed to automatically add powdered oxygen cleaners at just the right moment in your washer’s cycle for deeper cleaning and brighter whites.
- Designed to effectively clean up to 20 towels at once, this 4.5 cu. ft. capacity washer gets more clean in fewer loads.
- Rapid basin rotation uses centrifugal force to remove excess moisture from fabrics quickly, reduce dry times and ease transfer from washer to dryer.

Purchased this online for $439 /Free delivery. Just got it today. First load was pretty big as our old machine died last week, Colored clothes came out great. Surefire test was my sons filthy baseball uniform with dirt and grass stains (pre treated the grass stains) with white pants, it came out spotless. Clothes come out much dryer than my old Maytag, Drying time was cut in half in my old dryer. As far as taking longer to wash. Maybe a little. Maybe an extra 10-15 minutes. I don't know about you, but I don't sit in front of my washer and wait for my laundry. I have a million other things to do with the extra time. Have done 3 loads today so far. Every one came out fine. Looks like I made a great purchase.
This is our first High Efficiency Washer--and I did all the Consumer Reports looking, etc. Plain and simple: We could not be HAPPIER with this machine. We don't even use any fancy HE detergents either--just plain old Tide. And we have no issues with "oversudsing." All you have to do is put the clothes around--meaning, "don't cover" the middle agitator bit--no big deal. I dump my stuff in, pre-treated if it warrants-and I mean, my stuff, my husband's stuff, and my six year old's stuff---make sure that middle isn't covered, and proceed to push the various buttons. I can handle everything! I usually use the express setting, as our stuff just really isn't that dirty. But normal is also quick. With 6 cats, we have to launder quilts/duvets a lot (lots of "marking") No problem--and I've not had it "wander" across my laundry room floor or do that "ka-chunk-ka-chunk" RUN and redistribute the wash insanity! No more!!! Hooray! As we have 6, count 'em, SIX cats--I use a double rinse option. If there is still hair on items, the dryer takes that off. Our laundry is in the basement, but I'm still stymied about the "noise" issues I read in the other reviews. LOL It sort of sounds like there's some old laundress in the basement, hemming and hawing, yes-I'm serious---but it's kind of charming, not eerie. :-) And I also agree with the shorter time in the dryer, or air drying. Items are really squeezed out. And I'm all about air drying expensive cotton items---chinos, polos and button-down shirts. So, all in all, I'd say this is a wonderful washer, which I'm happy to recommend!!! And as my husband is a do-it-yourselfer (at least his $$ work clothes) he's very happy with it too!!! Would I buy again? YES!!!
Love this brand, and the value is amazingggg! Sleek , clean, look. The bundle with the dryer is the best deal I have seen on this brand. Very pleased with our purchase. Thank you much.
Although I did not have trouble originally. This year The machine has had three service calls. The first tech told me I was using to much soap. I knew that wasn't true as I wash my laundry and then rewash to remove any residue. The machine continued to make the horrible noises after he "fixed it" two weeks later the circuit board started acting up. Same tech came back, said he ordered parts never showed back up again. In the meantime I noticed that the entire top of the machine is rusting. Then the machine started leaking water out the bottom of machine. Tech just left. The bearing went, and that was wrong from the beginning. I asked about the rust. he said they do that and it is not covered by warranty. Although this tech was very nice, I am really angry with the poor quality of such an expensive machine. This was a very expensive machine when I bought it and I purchased the extended warranty
This washer does everything it promises. After reading some negative reviews, the hubby and I started a load of wash and decided to sit there and watch it the whole cycle. I am not sure if some negative reviewers got a defective washer, but mine does the job AND does it well. The soap gets mixed effectively by multiple blasts of water that rinses the detergent shoot. It then sprays the wash while it slowly spins the clothes to ensure an even spread. The impeller does an excellent job of agitating the clothing and you can see your clothes being fully saturated and moved about. The rinse cycle/s evenly distribute water and I have no issue with soap being left behind on the laundry. I use fabric softener as well, and it also is evenly distributed and I have no residue on the cleaned wash. As far as the spin cycle, this baby will spin your clothes practically dry if you set the spin setting to high! Talk about a time saver for your dryer. I can't say anything negative about this washer. I use it frequently and do loads ranging from small to packed full, lightly soiled to super dirty work clothes. My family's clothes are clean and smell fresh.
Our old dryer went out - and we were never quite happy with our old washer. To make a long story short - we investigated all of the washers and dryers available locally. We decided on the 28102 and the accompanying dryer (68102). I read the reviews and decided to give them a try. I am quite impressed. We always had to head to the laundromat to wash our sleeping bags. The washer (and the dryer) handle a standard size sleeping bag like a champ. They take care of a set of king size sheets in a single load. They do a decent job on a load of jeans and such. It takes a bit getting used to the lower water levels and the different noises. You think - how can it get the laundry clean without using more water? There were some bloodstains on the sheets from me scratching some chigger bites - they are all gone. There were some grease and dirt stains on one or two pairs of jeans - they are all gone. I am favorably impressed.

This is my second high efficiency washing machine. The first was in our last apartment and it was a huge learning curve. I didn't like it for several reasons but mostly for the the fact that the other one would grow mold easily on the rubber ring of the front loader so I specifically sought a top loader. This machine is much better. It's pretty quiet and I have yet to have a trouble with the load being off balance as others have commented. I live in a 100 year old house and the only problem I've had is that the water sometimes doesn't get hot enough which is not due to the machine but rather to the state of our water lines. We have a baby and wash cloth diapers every other day and this machine gets them really clean. I like the multiple options for water temperature, soil level, rinse, etc. I even was able to wash my king size comforter in this machine and it came out great.
After careful review of many different washing machines on the market, we decided on this one based on consumer reports (instead of a front loader which we read often smells moldy after a few months.) Well, big mistake. This machine does not clean our clothes very well or rinse them efficiently either. Sometimes portions of the clothes are still dry after a full hour cycle! Very odd! We read the manual and did exactly what they recommended. The washing times are too long and the clothes come out so wrinkled that even after drying they are a still wrinkly. (Especially my "permanent press" uniforms.) Who wants to iron anymore than we have to? This machine is getting returned and Sears was very accommodating about taking it back after 2 months. I probably will choose another Kenmore, but this time a front loader.
We've owned this washer two weeks, and it's the worst purchase we ever made. I'm totally familiar with the HE machines and their specific detergents, having owned a front loader for 13 years. This new machine does not get the clothes clean, unless the load is small. Wash times are too lengthy. I absolutely hate this washer and wish I could return it, and go back to the whirlpool Duet I had before. Calling the number in the user manual is no help; you get scripted dialog that they won't deviate from.
This washes well, saves water & energy. However, the cycle times are a lot longer than older washers. If you interrupt a cycle, the machine can add another 10 minutes or more back on when you restart. If I use all features, some cycles are over 99 minutes long!! Also, probably not the best overall value - I estimate a very high cost of ownership. For what you save in Water & Energy, when this baby needs service, I am sure that it will cost you much more than you saved, and based on how it goes thru many unnecessary gyrations, I am sure that it is going to need service several times during it's life. I have watched a number of cycles. Quick starts & stops and reversals of the drum are unnecessary but done all of the time... Short starts & stops of the pump are also done - this just wears the machine out faster. This washer performs a lot of unnecessary acrobatics, for what reason....I am unsure.
