Product Description

No one in its class performs better* and no one in its class cleans better.**

The Kenmore® 28102 washer is now bigger.*** It also features the high-performing Triple Action® impeller to provide a deep clean, 3-part wash motion while using less water. This triple action system includes a wash basket motion, an impeller action and a burst of concentrated detergent pumped through the wash plate.

The white Kenmore 2810 washing machine uses 63% less water and 73% less energy for over $175 per year in total savings.† It also makes it easier than ever to get whiter whites, thanks to the Timed Oxi™ dispenser. Just press a button, and your oxi additives are released into the wash at the right time to help boost cleaning power. Set-in stains are no match for the Soak cycle that helps eliminate tough stains from clothing. The PreWash option also lets you customize your wash to clean organic stains like berries, wine or extra-dirty loads.

  • Combining wash basket motion, impeller rotation and a burst of concentrated detergent, the Triple Action® impeller deep cleans fabrics while using less water.
  • Stainboost™ extends wash time for a deeper soak, better cleaning penetration and more powerful stain removal while remaining gentle on fabrics.
  • The timed Oxi-Option™ is designed to automatically add powdered oxygen cleaners at just the right moment in your washer’s cycle for deeper cleaning and brighter whites.
  • Designed to effectively clean up to 20 towels at once, this 4.5 cu. ft. capacity washer gets more clean in fewer loads.
  • Rapid basin rotation uses centrifugal force to remove excess moisture from fabrics quickly, reduce dry times and ease transfer from washer to dryer.
*Among leading brand top load washers with washplate systems greater than 4.0 cu.ft. and less than 4.7 cu. ft .as measured by DOE standards, based on an analysis of 4 criteria: AHAM cleaning score for an 8 lb load, DOE EnergyGuide in kWh/yr, average cycle times for an AHAM 8lb Normal cycle cleaning test, and machine capacity of declared DOE capacity value; total matrix score based on utility score weighting.

**Among leading brand top load high efficiency washers with washplates greater than 4.0 cu. ft. and less than 4.7 cu. ft. as measured by DOE standards, based on an 8 lb load.

***As compared to Kenmore model 28002.

†Compared to a deep fill top load washer manufactured before 2004, using the normal cycle. Average use, 11 year life and 10 loads per week.

††100% cotton, RN# 15099 from Sears, each weighs 0.90 lbs new, and are 49" x 25" new.

New Replacement
I recently replaced (3 weeks ago) an 8 year old Kenmore Elite set with this newer Kenmore set. I was skeptical about getting the new Kenmore Elite units as they are not made by Whirlpool as this Kenmore Washer is. We are very familiar with the HE machines and how to properly load the machines so as not to make the machine off balance. A lot of the reviews written about HE sets are from users who are moving from agitator machines to the newer technology. This machine washes well, clothes come as clean as our previous set. You have to remember to select the fabric softener option or the product will spill into the wash basket and leave residue at the end of the cycle. Our previous machine always assumed any product was used and would run water through all the dispensers. (Whirlpool should go back to this). There are plenty enough cycle choices to suit anyone?s needs. The machine is super quiet and only makes noises that a direct drive machine would be expected to (no belt). The only noticeable difference we see is that the machine is hard on towels for some reason. It will unravel the fabric on older wash clothes & towels. So to combat this we run a gentle cycle and reduce the wash time and run a low spin. As a comparison our older Calypso washer which was an absolute joy for us, was much gentler on our clothes and in my opinion the Calypso wash motion was better technology. I recommend getting a protection plan through whomever, I am sure you will need it at some point in time. The machine uses what appears to be a small amount of water, but in fact, recycles the water that an agitator machine would simply keep in the tub as it washes, so the clothes are in fact thoroughly wet and drenched in water. Overall this is a good machine, and I would recommend it! However read the manual and do exactly as it says and the machine will do its job.

I hate this washer
We've owned this washer two weeks, and it's the worst purchase we ever made. I'm totally familiar with the HE machines and their specific detergents, having owned a front loader for 13 years. This new machine does not get the clothes clean, unless the load is small. Wash times are too lengthy. I absolutely hate this washer and wish I could return it, and go back to the whirlpool Duet I had before. Calling the number in the user manual is no help; you get scripted dialog that they won't deviate from.

buyer beware

We had 3 washers before we gave up on the model. The washing machine could not do more than 3 sets of bath towels without making a horrible, scary grinding noise. The loads were carefully loaded to create a balanced load of towels. Not sure how Consumer Reports rated this machine highly. Very disappointed in the product.

Rated Good

We live on a ranch and tend to get very dirty! By dirty I mean, animal poo, blood, mud, grease, etc.... For heavily soiled items I have to limit them to 3 or 4 items and run on the longest setting. Sometimes 2 washes are required. Cannot wash big comforters, which I have a lot of, due to running an Outfitters service. Running it has hard as I have to, I have found that washers only last me about 1 year. This one is already acting up on me, and I have only had it for 3 months. If you live in the city and your clothes are not heavily soiled, this machine would work great for you. Also should mention that on average I do 2 loads per day, every day!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Performs Well

Top-Load HE washer works well on a variety of fabrics, load sizes, etc. Appreciate the many options regarding cycle times, water temps, spin speeds, etc. Unit is quieter than I had been led to expect.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I love my top load washer

I love this top loading washer. I have had several front loading ones and I hate that they always have to be leveled and they like to bounce around. This washer is very quiet and has alot of different cycles to choose from and it fits my king size comforter.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Best Kenmore washer/dryer set

The washer/dryer set is very quiet. Loves the new digital lighting on the display, it'll tell you exactly how much time left to complete the job so you can go finish your among other things. I love the set overall.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Perfect for our family

We have had this washer for about 2 months and so far we love our new washer. It is very easy to use and has the perfect capacity for our family. It also much quitter than our old washing machine. The reason I chose this machine is because it's a top loader. I never liked our front loading machine because it often had moldy smell. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase. I gave 4 stars because I rarely give 5 stars to any product review unless the product is really outstanding.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
