No one in its class performs better* and no one in its class cleans better.**
The Kenmore® 28102 washer is now bigger.*** It also features the high-performing Triple Action® impeller to provide a deep clean, 3-part wash motion while using less water. This triple action system includes a wash basket motion, an impeller action and a burst of concentrated detergent pumped through the wash plate.
The white Kenmore 2810 washing machine uses 63% less water and 73% less energy for over $175 per year in total savings.† It also makes it easier than ever to get whiter whites, thanks to the Timed Oxi™ dispenser. Just press a button, and your oxi additives are released into the wash at the right time to help boost cleaning power. Set-in stains are no match for the Soak cycle that helps eliminate tough stains from clothing. The PreWash option also lets you customize your wash to clean organic stains like berries, wine or extra-dirty loads.
- Combining wash basket motion, impeller rotation and a burst of concentrated detergent, the Triple Action® impeller deep cleans fabrics while using less water.
- Stainboost™ extends wash time for a deeper soak, better cleaning penetration and more powerful stain removal while remaining gentle on fabrics.
- The timed Oxi-Option™ is designed to automatically add powdered oxygen cleaners at just the right moment in your washer’s cycle for deeper cleaning and brighter whites.
- Designed to effectively clean up to 20 towels at once, this 4.5 cu. ft. capacity washer gets more clean in fewer loads.
- Rapid basin rotation uses centrifugal force to remove excess moisture from fabrics quickly, reduce dry times and ease transfer from washer to dryer.

This washer replaces a 12-year old top loader with a center agitator. I was, at first, a bit nervous about this washer. We bought it after about an hour of looking at machines and speaking with a sales associate at the Sears Appliance store. When I got home, I started checking reviews, and, at that time they were not too favorable, so, I nervously awaited delivery. I have to say that we have been using this washer for three months already and have had absolutely no problems at all. We LOVE this machine. Doing laundry in the old washer was such a chore. Gone are the days of splitting up loads and trying to figure out which items will go in which wash load. The 4.5 cu. ft. tub is massive. What used to be two or three loads of colors, whites or reds can now be washed in ONE load with much less water. I just toss the stuff in, hit the button and it takes care of the rest. Being new to HE machines, there is a learning curve that is clearly addressed in the manual. With these machines you have to get used to using less detergent. You need to definitely use the dispensers for all of your products, as directed, so that the machine correctly and evenly distributes them into the wash. Because the entire machine does not fill up with water, and because the agitation is much gentler, you can't just dump products into the clothing. What the machine does is mix detergent and other laundry boosters into the water from the dispenser as it fills up the tub. This way, the dirty clothing pre-soaks and, as a result, gets cleaned more thoroughly with much less water and energy. Again, we have had no problems with this machine. I think a great majority of the negative reviews for these newer high-efficiency machines come from people not learning how to use them and trying to save money by using cheap, non-HE detergents. Our machine has never malfunctioned or needed a reset. It has not destroyed any clothing, towels or huge down comforters we've put into it. If you follow the instructions and get used to the new cleaning methods this machine offers, I can't see how you can be disappointed with it.
We purchased this machine a couple of months ago to replace our 10-year-old front loader. The stainless steel basket in this machine is really large and has cut our loads down by 1/2. The washing action is quite different than a traditional (non-high efficiency) top loader, but the laundry comes out clean and fresh. This was a great purchase for our family of 6. Highly recommended for the capacity, flexibility of various wash options and the ease of a top-load design. We purchased the matching dryer -- all on sale -- and we're really happy. Not as many bells and whistles as the higher-cost models, but this washer does everything we need for our growing family. The installers were great and the delivery was quick. Highly recommended.
Had this machine just a short period of time. Did several loads of laundry large to small. LOVE this machine so far. VERY quite, gets clothes clean, uses very little water. Hope it lasts as long as my last Kenmore washer (27 years and was still running).

I bought this washer and matching dryer during Black Friday week. I was leaning towards a front load washer because there were questions across the internet regarding how well top load washers cleaned clothes. I broke down and took a chance on this washer because of the sale price, and I am glad I did. The washer is extremely quiet, uses very little water, and, most importantly, does an excellent job of cleaning clothes! I have to get used to the large barrel and the amount of clothes that I can wash. I have king comforters and this washer cleans them no problem. Because they are so big, I do a fast spin cycle after the normal cycle is finished. One minor annoyance is remembering to press the softener button when selecting wash cycle. I wonder where the softener goes when you forget to press the button? I will update my review in 4-6 months.

We had a Kenmore Elite front-load washer that came with our house when we moved in. When it broke, we knew we wanted a top-loader. This machine has been impressive! It's easy to use and has all the features we were looking for. Plus, it's huge! It's perfect for our growing family. We use cloth diapers, so having something that worked well for those was a major concern. Between the soak option and the Heavy Duty cycle, this washer gets them very clean! It's also very gentle with delicates and sweaters that require hand-washing. And it runs quietly; which is nice when the baby is sleeping. When we bought this washing machine, we went back and forth between this top-loader and the Kenmore Elite 4.7 cu. ft. top-loader. We chose this one because the reviews were slightly better. And, overall, it wasn't as deep, so we knew it would fit in the space we have at our home. And the front and back of this washer has a lower/flatter profile. Once it was delivered and set up, we found that it just fit, and we were relieved that we didn't pick the Elite model. The only complaint we have so far is that we lost some storage in our laundry room - we stacked so much stuff on top of the front-loader. As far as we're concerned, that was the only advantage to having the front-load washer!
I purchased the machine to reduce my monthly electric bills and water usage. As I live in a rural area I have to pump my water from wells which increases the useage of electricity for each load of clothes. The large capacity reduces the number of loads that have to be washed. the self balancing washer tub is amazing and super quiet. oh did I mention water saving - wow. I'm amazed at how little water is used. I stand and watch as the tub fills and cant believe it when the fill water shuts off so quickly. The washer allows me to select the amount of time the spin cycle operates, thereby allowing me to take almost dry clothes out of the washer. no more one hour dryer cycles when drying blue jeans. (saving electricity on the drying cycle). Ever try to wash a few throw rugs in a washer and get them balanced correctly so that the washer didn't automatically shutdown or dance across the floor - I tried it and the auto balancing mechanism took two tries before it balanced out the load and off it went - amazing Now - if I can just get it to hang up my clothes for me.
This will be my first High Efficiency Washer 4.5 cu.ft. Amazing how quiet the washer is. Gets everything super clean with Little water needed. I will tell everyon about this great washer. Especially if they dont want to use alot of water. The Last washer i had was a pain. During two cycles i had to lift the Lid so the water would spin out. This new High Efficiency Washer is my job in the House Now. I can walk away and not worry if my clothes will be washed well and in a timely manner. I will Recommend to everyone that needs a new washer. Also i want to say how quick and Efficient the Sears Store in Plattsburgh New York Was the Day we went to pick up the New Washer. This Washer was easy to install. We will be going back to the sears store in Plattsburgh to buy our next appliance in the near future.Sear you Rock!!!
We had a top of the line Kenmore Elite Front Load washer which was only 4 years old. This previous washer had nothing but problems. We are greatful we had an extended warranty as nearly every part was replaced. After the nightmare we had with our frontload we decided to purchase this top load washer and it cleans just as well as our front load did and its huge size helps with washing our king sized quilts.
I recently replaced (3 weeks ago) an 8 year old Kenmore Elite set with this newer Kenmore set. I was skeptical about getting the new Kenmore Elite units as they are not made by Whirlpool as this Kenmore Washer is. We are very familiar with the HE machines and how to properly load the machines so as not to make the machine off balance. A lot of the reviews written about HE sets are from users who are moving from agitator machines to the newer technology. This machine washes well, clothes come as clean as our previous set. You have to remember to select the fabric softener option or the product will spill into the wash basket and leave residue at the end of the cycle. Our previous machine always assumed any product was used and would run water through all the dispensers. (Whirlpool should go back to this). There are plenty enough cycle choices to suit anyone?s needs. The machine is super quiet and only makes noises that a direct drive machine would be expected to (no belt). The only noticeable difference we see is that the machine is hard on towels for some reason. It will unravel the fabric on older wash clothes & towels. So to combat this we run a gentle cycle and reduce the wash time and run a low spin. As a comparison our older Calypso washer which was an absolute joy for us, was much gentler on our clothes and in my opinion the Calypso wash motion was better technology. I recommend getting a protection plan through whomever, I am sure you will need it at some point in time. The machine uses what appears to be a small amount of water, but in fact, recycles the water that an agitator machine would simply keep in the tub as it washes, so the clothes are in fact thoroughly wet and drenched in water. Overall this is a good machine, and I would recommend it! However read the manual and do exactly as it says and the machine will do its job.
