If you think you've grilled before, and you haven't done it on one of these bad boys, you are mistaken! This grill is a beast. It heats almost instantly, and has enough btu's to cook your food in half the time as ordinary grills.
The grill looks nice and cooks well. But here are the problems....once put together the whole grill wobbles, I think the base is warped. Also the two cooking grates will not lay flat in the grill, they wobble! The grease trap is to small, drips to bottom of grill. Thank goodness I got it on sale but I should have spent three hundred more and got a Weber.
I had a Kenmore grill that lasted for 12 years but the steel parts inside was finally so rusted the burners were falling out. I grill at least twice a week for dinner so it saw a lot of use. This grill is not as heavy as the old one since it has stainless steel burner tubes and thin gauge stainless parts instead of the cast iron burners and coated heavy steel parts so it should last longer (will not rust out). I had to replace the old cast iron burners once due to rust but the burners in this one should last the life of the grill. The side table is about 3 inches narrower than the old one which I don't like, no room for tools and a plate. It is very open inside the grill which should make it easier to keep clean. The old grill had heat deflector plates over a set of massive burners and all the charred food drippings would accumulate very fast so I had to clean it often. The side searing burner is awesome. I use to have to wait almost ten minutes for the old grill to heat to 500 degrees to sear my steaks then the grill was so hot I would have to turn to low for the first few minutes of cooking to avoid burning them after the searing process. The side searing burner allows less than 5 minutes of heat time and a minute or so on each side then put on the grill which you can heat on medium during the searing process. This has cut my total cooking time down by 10-15 minutes. I bought it on sale for me it was a good deal and I would highly recommend you buy it.
So far this grill has cooked ok. Then there are the buts. First of all I live in Oklahoma. This grill blows over at the drop of a hat. Yes I live in the state where the wind goes sweeping down the plains, But the wind has not been that high since we bought it. This grill has blown over three times now. With the heavy gas bottle in the cabinet. The first time we used the grill on the 4 July, the next day I opened the grill and the burner covers was rusted. It did not even rain. The grill has been covered every time it rained and these burner covers continue to rust. True Stainless Steel will not rust. Our old grill was cast iron, and it sat on the patio for 10 years or more and never blew over. We have now moved the grill up next to the house, which is not where we really wanted to keep it. We added a cinder block to the cabinet, next too the propane bottle. and sat another cinder block in front. I hope this keep the grill from blowing over. . I honestly wish we had not bought this grill.
Great grill. Comes with 4 burners and a side burner. it's all stainless steel. I'm very happy with it. The assembly was easy, just have to follow instructions. It's easier to clean than any other grill i have owned.
excellent product, the grill goods the food great. I like the all stainless steel construction, and the swivel wheels makes the moving of the grill a lot easier.
I purchased this grill online just over 2 months ago. We had a ton of delivery issues and ended up having to pick it up at a local store. Not a good start, although customer service at the store did take good care of me. Positives: 1) The grill looks sharp. 2) It is very lightweight and easy to move as needed. 3) Assembly was pretty simple (maybe 2 hours). 4) I LOVE the searing burner. It works exceptionally well on steaks. Negatives: 1) Rust is showing up in multiple areas. These include around screws, random joints, grease pans and the searing burner. Note the "stainless" on this grill is magnetic, in fact so magnetic that my magnetic screwdriver bit kept being drawn to it during assembly. Good stainless is not, and now I am paying the price. 2) It is lightweight and a bit flimsy. It weighs half as much as my Kenmore grill from 10+ years ago. It doesn't feel "solidly" built. 3) The inside is stainless as well. This makes it nearly impossible to see when a burner is lit. In the daytime you cannot see any flames, even when lit. 4) Both grease pans fill completely with water EVERY TIME it rains. 5) Within a week condensation had completely fogged over the temp gauge. It is not waterproof. Overall, sadly I don't see this grill lasting more than a couple years at this rate. The quality of Kenmore grills isn't what it used to be. Charbroil manufactures all Kenmore grills these days, so maybe that is part of the problem.
Easy to assemble and it looks great. I've used the searing burner a few times and it works well, but I don't really see the benefit. I love the grill though. The heat is even and it holds the heat in (use less propane).
