Kenmore , Free Standing, Smooth Top, Self Cleaning Oven.
I bought this item less than a month ago, but so far my hubby & I have done quite a bit of cooking with it & thus, far we love it!! :-) I've always wanted a Ceramic Glass Smooth Top oven, because I hate the site of those nasty burners after a few uses on the other kind of ovens. BURNER INFO: Before you use your Ceramic Glass Smooth Top oven for the very first time, make sure you use the "polish" that comes with your oven to wax over the stove top, prior to your first use of the stove top. Then follow the directions in your manuel for continued care of your stove top. The sales gal @ Sear's did tell me that most likely the rings on the Ceramic Glass Smooth Top oven will eventually fade a lot &/or be gone completely. I asked her how long "overall" do you think the rings will last & she said probably about 11yrs or so if you take very good care of your Smooth Top from the get-go. I figured I could live with that risk, if indeed, the rings don't go away until AFTER I've had my oven for 11+ yrs. That's a chance that I'm willing to take with this. SELF-CLEANING OVEN INFO: First & foremost, ALWAYS remove your racks from you oven BEFORE you use the "Self Cleaning Oven" feature button. If you don't, your oven racks will lose all of their finish & they won't be shiny anymore. The sales gal also told me that when I go to use my "Self Cleaning Oven" to be sure & set a timer elsewhere in the house for approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours MAXIMUM. She said that the "Self Cleaning Oven" feature automatically sets the cleaning procedure for @ least 3 hours or more & the sales gal explained to me that this is way too long & it will usually turn the top edge of you oven door brown & you will not be able to get this clean once this happens. She explained that using the "Self Cleaning Oven" feature for 1 to 1-1/2 hours should be plenty of time to get your oven cleaned. Just hit the OFF button after a little over an hour to STOP the "Self Cleaning Oven" feature. WORTH THE "EXTRA" MONEY: I spent almost $100 MORE on the oven I selected, because I choose the one where the bottom heating element inside the oven is NOT EXPOSED. It's actually under a piece of metal, which is well worth the extra money because you're not spilling food on this heating element & it is a lot easier to wipe out the oven during cleaning when this heating element is NOT exposed. OVEN VIEW: I really like the big glass window so you can keep an eye on your food while it is cooking in the oven. This is a really nice feature & helps prevent having to open the oven constantly to check on your food!! NOTE: This oven does NOT automatically come with an electrical cord, this needs to be purchased separately. I ordered the longest cord available for this oven for an additional $21 (including tax). This oven also does NOT come with a Broiler Pan, but that wasn't a problem for me as I already had one. If you don't have a Broiler Pan, I would suggest you purchase one of these as well for when you're doing any broiling in the oven. Overall....I would say this oven is pretty "user friendly" and it didn't take much for me to figure out all of the settings & how to properly use this oven. As with everything...READ YOUR MANUAL from cover to cover prior to using your oven & go from there. Pretty simple!! :-)

This stove sucks!
I bought this thing 5 years ago and it now has a broken top, broken burner, broken oven door handle. Are you kidding me? $1200.00 and the garbage lasted 5 years? Goodbye Kenmore. Hello Anyone else who makes stoves! By the way, There is no option for zero stars. As usual for Kenmore. Defective products all around, including marketing.

Buy at your own risk - a piece of JUNK

The electric control panel is a joke. A mouse can crawl across it while you are on vacation, trigger some settings, and burn your house down. (G-d forbid) The OVEN DOOR - once locked by design or accident Cannot be un- locked without a service call (appx $150). a splatter of food on the control panel sets off a blizzard of error messages and alarms. I am 75 years old a Yale graduate engineer. and in my entire lifetime I have never been so dissatisfied with a product. This was a 1400 dollar fiasco. I wouldn't cart it to the Goodwill. Buy it at your own risk. and GOOGLE the door lock problem That would convince anybody this is a piece of junk. Good luck

We were very impressed with the customer service including installation and hauling away our old stove. The new one exceeds our expectations and is very efficient. I would highly recommend this stove to someone needing a slide in range.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a piece of junk.

This range has been in use for 2 years and now will not work. Cook top or oven. Cannot get a service call from Sears until 4 days. Not only does it not work, the paint is coming off the control knobs and a fan runs the entire time the oven is on. The range that I replaced this one with was a Kenmore and it lasted 15 years. This quality of Kenmore is no more. I will never buy another Kenmore appliance. I just bought a HE washer and dryer from them 18 months ago and they are both junk. My husband and I bought new appliances since our children are grown and we thought they would get us through our retired years. I regret the last 3 Kenmores. Never again.

Good but bad

We have had this stove for 6 years and it is great EXCEPT the bottom slide out drawer has given me fits since we bought it. Now the little riveted in wheels are shot and I can't replace them. We tried to cobble something else but no luck. So no storage, no drawer and no recourse. A dumb problem, but a problem none the less. It is a cheap flimsy metal drawer. I will check these when I next buy a stove.

Beautiful stove

Just got my new Electric range with ceramic smoothtop cooktop. It is beautiful and matches my other appliances. Easy to clean and love the new smoothtop. So happy to get rid of my 18 year old Kenmore with the coil elements. Hope this one lasts as long as my other Kenmore.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Love the smooth top slide in look

Bought this stove because I liked the look of a slide in with granite counter tops. It looks beautiful with the granite and it's great that crumbs don't go between the stove and cabinets. Fan does come on a lot, but it is not loud or annoying to us. The bottom drawer is very cheaply made for the price of this stove.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
