Installed it 8 months ago, and like it a lot. But one of the light bulbs burned out already, even though we try not to leave them on a long time. Took one to hardware store - nope. Then took it to a big lighting store - got two 25W bulbs that would work for $3+, but they did not have 40W and could not get them. So I googled, using the part number in the manual for it - found it for prices ranging from $10 to $16 (plus shipping)! I would settle for the 25W bulbs, but my wife won't have that, so I'm gonna be stuck paying through the nose for replacement bulbs forever. Would knowing this beforehand change our choice? I don't know. But maybe something to be aware of.
This is a beautiful unit. The only thing I wish was different about it: I wish there was a dimmer or night light option. There is only one setting - on/off and the light is a little bright. I like leaving mine on at night for my kids or as mood-lighting, but it's too bright to do this...
Ingenious construction. Pretty light to lift, but the blower motor is pure industrial awesome. Sucks a lot lot lot of air, definitely a must-have for blackened catfish. We crack a window in our tiny (500sf) little house when we have it on, for makeup air. Totally worth it though. If you've ever tried blackened catfish in a tiny house, with a lot of cayenne... Cough-cough, wheeze, eyes watering... This hood cures all that. Lights are rated 40W, candelabra base. We found 40W halogens to replace the oversized 40W incandescent night light bulbs that shipped with it, and now it's crazy bright! And it looks super sexy! ;-)

I'm pretty sure this is the style/model we purchased for our kitchen a couple years ago. We were doing a pretty large remodel at the time with new cabinets, flooring, etc., and had always wanted stainless steel appliances so we bought a new range, dishwasher, fridge and range hood. We'd never had anything like this before (previously we had a built-in microwave and exhaust system above the range), and I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. As soon as I saw how nice it looked above the range, with the new wall tiling, etc., I was sold. We have gotten lots of compliments on it, too!
Pros-Great look and performance. Fan very quiet & powerful. Easily ordered online/store P/U after being assured no questions asked store return for any reason. Installed by professional HVAC tech. (we found out it sucked smoke into the house while building a fire in our wood stove. We never build a fire while the vent is on). Cons-a light bulb blew within 3 wks. It just didn't turn on one day. Good bulb worked so it wasn't wiring. Customer service said bulbs not on warranty and tried to blame faulty installation since not installed by SEARS saying "I've had my light bulb for 2 years, no problems. The wires were probably installed improperly." Great product but hopefully you don't have to call customer service for their "No questions asked returns" or questions on warranty.

We nicknamed our new Kenmor Elite Stove "Beast" and our Kenmore Elite Range Hood (reviewed here) and "Belle" and Belle is just awesome! She is beautiful and sleek and works great! She is quite powerfull too! She buffs real nice and i am so happy they gave us Steel cleaner with our stove. The price was nice and very competitive with similar brands and styles, and maybe even cheaper! It isn't too big or too small either, just right!
