Just arrived yesterday in good working order, but when I turned on the the oven to run it at 400 degrees for 30 minutes to break it in as the owner's manual recommends I noticed the vent system at the top of the oven door allows the oven door near the handle and the front rim of the cook top to get extremely hot. Not warm, hot! You are not going to get a blister from a quick touch but I wouldn't want to accidentally lean against it if I was using the oven and the cook top at the same time. Can't imagine what it is like when you turn it self clean. Seems to function OK and it appears to be feature rich for the price, but this seems to be a design flaw that runs through the Kenmore/Frigidaire lines. Sadly I read the reviews on managemylife.com that indicated this was a problem after my purchase. Don't know if this is a deal breaker for me but I thought it was something for others to consider prior to making a big purchase with delivery fees like this that is difficult to return.

If you want a great Electric Range that does everything and looks great this is the one to buy, We have had no problems what so ever. We wanted a range that was functional and after a year of research and waiting for the right price this was our choice. We are very happy with this item. We have used Kenmore products since 1982 and have always had good luck with Sears Products.

Purchased this range 30 days ago, triple burner does not work. Waited 3 weeks for service, only to be told the burner does not work, already knew that. Parts have to be ordered, waiting another 2 weeks for them to come and fix the burner. The solid black top is impossible to keep clean. always looks like it has a film on it. It must be cleaned each time you cook something, and I am not talking about just wiping it off, have to use the cleaner and do a complete cleaning. the last flat top range I had was not a problem to keep clean, kinda sorry I got rid of it. I would not recommend this range because of the solid black top, really needs to be changed to a top that is easier to clean.
