I love this beautiful, sleak and clean stove
Many people I have heard say these get so dirty that it gets baked on. I'm and Italian cook and I have things all over the stove. I went from a gas stove to this ceramic one. It is GREAT. I have seen other people with these and I see why theirs are no longer clean. They do not clean it with the recommended cleaner or clean it regularly. One small bottle comes with it and you should clean it at least once a week with this cleanser AND every time you spill food on it. Also you should probably not use certain pots and pans like cast iron. They can scratch really bad. The manual does talk and recommend what types are best and warns you of what they can do to the ceramic top . My sister's is scratched and she told me she never read the manual. She uses all cast iron. Go figure, that's my sister. Also if the pans have crud on the bottoms it tends to transfer, but clean both and your okay. I recommend Calphalon CS non-stick. It has everything for everyone. The even heating of aluminum, the non-stick for ease and stainless steel for easy cleaning. They have a lifetime warranty if you follow the directions. These are even dishwasher safe and is allowed under the warranty, but we all know they won't last as long if you use the dishwasher. I just found out that using any aerosol, like Pam does void that warranty because it eats away the non-stick coating. I read the fine print :) You should buy the right stove for how you cook. I always buy extended warranties on my appliances for the first few years. I tend to drop things and I do worry that I will do that and shatter my cooking top.

drop in range 4559 poor design

the door glass is designed with two pieces of glass in a metal frame.  The glass is not sealed ie thermopane doors and windows.  as you cook moisture builds up between the glass and causes a discoloration.  looks as if you have spilled grease on the glass then baked or cooked it on.  It took a repairman one hour to dissamble the door, clean, and reassemble.  It would be a labor intensive job for a person without the repair skills.  I consider it to be poorly designed and constructed.  not a quality you would expect from a kenmore(sears) product

My new Kenmore Electric Range is GREAT, love the oven!! On my old stove, the oven did not work, had to deal with that for about 8 or more years. Now I don't have that to deal with, it's GREAT to have an oven again.

AVOID !!!!!

THIS IS THE WORST RANGE I HAVE EVERY OWNED. I gave a 1 star only because negatives were not offered. I have the top replaced and the new also will turn brown and look as if something has cooked over and burned on the stove. I hate cooking now because of this range. It is horrible!!

Looks nice but...

It looks great but we have a very hard time controlling the heat of the burners. Once you've heated something up on high and want to turn it down it doesn't seem to cut back very much. Things still keep boiling too hard and I've ended up burning food on the bottom of the pot. If I start on a lower temp it seems to be low but if I turn it up I can't get it back to low again. I really like the way the front burners give you the choice to use it as a small or large burner. Oven cooks well but seems to take a long time to heat up. Love that it has two different timers for you to use. If we could just get it worked out about the burners I'd be very happy with it. It could just need an adjustment, we never called to ask so it may be our fault.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I love my new Kenmore drop-in range!!!

I don't mind that the specks of silver don't really show much. It's very classy looking and works great! The ceramic cooktop is easy to clean and the burners heat up quickly. The oven works great and I'm looking forward to years of cooking.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Liked style, but have had problems with the product

My husband and I have had to replace to cooktop on this range twice (it cracked).  Also, the glass on the front (with the window to view the contents of the oven) was not put on securely, and ended up falling off.  We had to have an appliance repairperson come and fix it. I think that the manufacturer should use a more durable (and high-heat resistant) glue on it.  We've had to do the self-cleaning a few times, and it was after that when we noticed the problem of the glue not holding.

Kenmore Drop in Range

Was disappointed in the appearance of the glass top, picture showed large gray flecks and when it arrived you can't see the flecks at all, well maybe with a magnifying glass....was trying to blend it with the other Stainless Steel appliances   That was a little misleading.  Should be a great range, its a Kenmore and over-all I'm pleased.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good oven. Used it for 3 months now, no problems.

This oven has served us very well the past 3 months. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in it and it was great. The cooktop is easy to clean. I have heard that sometimes the heat sensor light will malfunction and stay on all the time, but that is not the case for our unit. This oven replaced an old Whirlpool that was 15 years old. Our old model was the standard electric coil, which I couldn't stand because the coil connections would get loose and lose power. This cooktop is a great improvement. The cooktop turns on quickly. Cleaning it is fun because after you clean it with the cleaner goop, the cooktop looks brand new.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
